  1. Hi, I forgot your thread after reading it when originally posted, yeah same process as you did. I went for a Matt finish, makes a massive difference to how the seats look compared to when the gloss sealant went on. Was tempted by semi-matt but really wanted the soft leather look and really pleased with the change its made to the look of the interior.

Not sure how too do the handbrake and steering wheel without removing them, not sure the sponge technique will be any good, especially sealing the colour in.

Thanks for confirming how yours are holding up, good to hear.

  2. When I bought my Zed a little over a year ago I always intended on changing the interior. After a bit of research and a couple of days work I've gone from this...

    To this...

I did it by buying a recolour kit from Furniture Clinic, choosing BMW Walknappa Amarone colour. It's got a sealant on it so should last, but time will tell. A leather conditioner can be applied a week after the sealant so I need to wait for a bit.

With a new gear knob on it's way (thanks Tarmac) all I need to do is sort the steering wheel and hand brake.

I'm pretty happy with the finished product.

  3. Hi,

I've been thinking of doing a couple of things with the interior for a while but don't pretend to know a lot about the technical part of this.

Firstly I was thinking of modifying the centre console, essentially redesigning it from the gauges at the top through to the back of the arm rest. Has anyone seen/done this already? I'm thinking new gauges, new head unit/sat nav area, new dials, arm rest redesign with cup holders, new buttons.

If I sourced new dials, buttons from say a gtr/merc etc would I be able to wire in or is it not that simple? I'm assuming a hazard light button from a connector point of view is the same from one car to the next, but it might be more complicated depending on what's being replaced?

Secondly, looking at redesign of the door cards, mainly to 1. Incorporate colour of leather seats into the door cards and 2. Have an updated alternative to the buttons and scratched plastic area. Again, anyone seen/done this kind of thing?

I appreciate there are plenty of topics where people have painted or wrapped or dipped interior parts but I'm thinking more of redesign. Anything I do would be with an 'as standard' finish to it.

    Cheers

  4. Hi, anyone got a boot popper they don't need? I got mine reconditioned by a member on here but it bent shortly afterwards and he seems to have disappeared quite a while ago.

  5. What is it with this punching the door card? I thought my window motors failed, bought new and shortly after failed again, hitting the door card makes it kick in, so must be a dodgy connection somewhere. Wonder how many window motors have been bought when not really needed.

  6. As said, watch the conditions about having to wager the money x times before withdrawal is allowed. I do something called match betting which shouldn't be done unless fully understood and have made a lot more on coral than they are offering here.

  7. If only you'd have come round to do it then ;) It was pouring down the day I asked the question so thought I'd ask whilst waiting for the weather to improve.

By the way, I'd had it investigated and bought replacement window motors only a couple of months before so thought the obvious would've been ok.

  8. Ok, just to let people know the outcome in case anyone suffers the same. I disconnected the switch from the arm rest area, relay started clicking away so there was a dodgy connection somewhere. Turns out the switch connection wasn't completely pushed together, so a simple bit of pressure and all good now.

  9. Bockaaarck, did you get the error sorted? I had those light up on start up recently, was the camshaft sensor. I bought the elm327 wifi code reader from eBay which, with software app (another 7 quid), means I can read/clear codes, get engine performance info.

Bought the camshaft sensor from eurocarparts for about £70, nissan dealer supplied the wrong one, and fitted it myself (and I'm rubbish at fixing things!)

  10. Hi,

I recently had a P0340 error on the camshaft sensor. At this time my windows started playing up (would work and then not work).

Now I've replaced the camshaft sensor I don't get any power to my windows. The relay isn't clicking on either side and I know the motors are ok because I replaced with new a couple of months ago.

I'm aware of the window reset procedure but I assume it'll only work if I've actually got some power going to them.

What should I do next, disconnect battery? Any help would be appreciated.

P.S. I haven't got the window lock on!

    Cheers.
