  1. Isn't it some wedge things they slot into the springs to stop the car bouncing around during transit??
  2. Narrowed it down to these two: Anyone know anything about them? I think I prefer the red but not sure if it will be too flashy! http://www.autotrader.co.uk/classified/advert/201403022181091/sort/pricedesc/usedcars/postcode/hd80ud/onesearchad/used%2Cnearlynew%2Cnew/page/1/radius/1500/model/370_z/make/nissan?logcode=p http://www.autotrader.co.uk/classified/advert/201402201945410/sort/pricedesc/usedcars/postcode/hd80ud/onesearchad/used%2Cnearlynew%2Cnew/page/1/radius/1500/model/370_z/make/nissan?logcode=p
  3. Please can you elaborate on this? I thought the GT pack was just upgraded Nav. and audio??
  4. I'm prepared for it not to handle like a Clio. Not much does out of the box I don't think.... I just want to know it will be playful and not cumbersome, which you have confirmed Is the premium connect the only difference with '10 plate cars onwards? Did earlier cars have any common faults that have been ironed out in the newer model years?
  5. Just got back from the test drive. It was in Doncaster so no decent roads to drive the car on. Did have a couple of pulls onto the motorway though. The car is certainly quick enough and's got that push in the back feeling I'm looking for. Didn't think much at all to the noise (or lack of) the engine made. I was prepared for this and know a decent exhaust system will open up the sound of the car. I'd read about the road noise the 370 makes and really didn't think it would bother me. It is pretty loud though. Can a thicker boot mat and/or some Dynamat cure this? I couldn't get a feel for what the car would be like pushing on down a twisty B-road. My Clio is pretty awesome, you can chuck it about a bit and it's fun. How does the 370 respond in the same situation? I know it's a heavy car so will require a bit more finesse, but I don't want to take the plunge and find out it's a chore to pilot. Lastly: Ideally I'd like an '11 plate car but is there anything wrong with going for a slightly older '10 plate? I'm just concerned about getting a car that's been out of warranty for a year therefore might have some hidden expenses. Sorry for all the questions, just want to be sure before I hand over the cash!
  6. Cheers mate! I'll report back once I've driven one.
  7. Can anyone comment on gearbox issues? I think if I'm happy with the test drive, I'll go ahead. The gearbox thing is making me think twice though. How common is it?
  8. Haha! My .:R was a bit DUB, I have to admit. Did look the business though and sounded awesome with the non-res. milly. Part of the reason for my brush with the law. I've driven plenty of rear drive on the track, now's the time to own one for the road! Ignore the bonnet bra, I had it on for the convoy to a car show as I was on the club stand.
  9. Elaborate other than fuel and tax and a small insurance hike ? I could be wrong, and I don't know the prices but my head tells me, (with it being a BMW) if anything went wrong and needed replacing, the bills would be huge. Before I can take this into consideration, I would have get past the extra 6-7k I need to add to my budget. Clio 200. Still got just over 3 year's warranty and free servicing as well. Just think it's time to get a proper car now. I started going in that direction a few years ago when I got a MK5 R32. Got a pretty big speeding ticket though which knocked me down a few pegs, which forced me to sell up and get something cheap to insure. Enter Twingo 133 CUP. Really good fun little car but ended up getting bored with it's lack of grunt. Sold that and got an old Civic EM1 which had a DC2 engine and gearbox with LSD amongst other breather mods. Spent a small fortune having the engine re-built with larger pistons etc. Car went like split-sh*t but kept on having little things go wrong with it. Got fed up of traipsing back and forth getting it fixed so sold up. Bought the Clio 200 as I started driving when the 182's were new and always wanted one. Thought I'd get one before Renault ruined them buy sticking in a twin-clutch gearbox. It's a fun car and a riot on the track with enough grip to embarrass much more expensive machinery through the corners. However, I can't shake the want for some rear wheel drive action and to get out of hatchback territory! Sorry for the essay!

  11. Can anyone answer for the gearbox problems in the 370? Is it common? Read a couple of post about people having to get new gearboxes fitted due to the syncro in 6th going. Don't want this to happen if I buy a car with no warranty. If the worst came to the worst, how much would a rebuild at a specialist set me back?
  12. I've only glanced through cutters. I've pretty much ruled out an M3 though because of the costs involved. I'd like a low miler facelift model which is out of my budget. Even if it was within my budget, the running costs would cripple me, especially if something went wrong.
  13. As sad as it sounds this is something I love about the 370, it turns heads. An M3 is just a high-spec 3 series and to the masses thats how it appears but the 370z is a whole model in its own right, with those huge rear arch flares, long bonnet etc, its a proper sports car. I also don't like the clinical, cold, computer controlled idea that I get from an M3 (never driven one tho) and I think the 370 is a nice halfway house. The interior is really high quality, and the traction control works well, but turn it off and its completely unrestrained, you can feel the solid gear changes through the "agricultural" gearbox, and it really feels like a muscle car! This is exactly why I like the Zed. Have to say though, the M3 is not cold and clinical to drive. I've driven one in anger on the track and had a riot!
  14. I haven't done as much research into insurance for the M3 after I made the decision a Zed would be a better buy. From a quick flick through Confused.com the M3 was coming out marginally more expensive.
  15. Testing a 370z on Sunday so all will be reveled. As much as I'd like a tt monster, I don't think my insurance would approve....
  16. Really? Rear drive and 328bhp refined? I was under the impression they are happy cruising but can be chucked about a bit when you're in the mood. Maybe I'm in for a disappointment.
  17. The odd gearbox issue? Syncros? I read somewhere about people getting a crunch going into 6th? I think the brutishness of the Zed attracts me the most. Obviously the M3 have a bigger and more powerful engine, but it seem more clinical and precise than the Zed. I like the way the Zed is a bit of an uncouth muscle car in comparison.
  18. I always enjoy looking for a new car. I admit I am very particular customer, just can't believe you managed to pick out probably the 2 most disappointing buying experiences I have ever had. I now have 2010 370 and I am well pleased with it. Just a quick skim through Pistonheads and found two I like the colour of. I'm hoping this isn't common on 370's for sale as it's hard to tell from the photos the exact condition of them!
  19. Sounds like you had a pretty tough search for your car! What's the deal with the steering lock recall? Is it mandatory for all 370's? Would you have to pay if it was out of warranty?
  20. Wow, the ones on Autotrader are far better priced! That 17k black edition is sold unfortunately :-(
  21. Anyone got anything to say about this 370? http://www.pistonhea...experiment=true Or this one: http://www.pistonheads.com/classifieds/used-cars/nissan/370z/nissan-370-z-3-7-v6-gt-3dr/2016796?isexperiment=true
  22. What do you guys think? http://www.pistonheads.com/classifieds/used-cars/nissan/370z/nissan-370-z-3-7-v6-328-gt-3dr-big-spec-nav-bose-low-milage/2093872?isexperiment=true
  23. Just got a cracking quote from Sky! Thanks mate
  24. Anyone recommend some good insurance companies? I'm with Greenlight at the moment who are being stupid about the fact it's a powerful rear drive car. The chap I spoke to says they are refusing to insure anyone with a BMW! Couldn't quite believe what I was hearing! Probably why they are so cheap.
