  1. Was a few weeks ago that Sly did the rollbars, might be my box
  2. Thanks all its a fantastic car!! Owned from new and after 2 years, still love it!!! The current bootlid look is only a temporary solution to see if I liked the look, which I do. I have a ducktail bootlid on order, which will be painted to match, something like this:- Lies.....would never happen Not a fan of the spoiler less look mate sorry! You must be right!!! There is no way it could be a 350z
  3. So for those that are interested.... After having gotten bored of modifying supras and imprezas, I was ready to give up on modding cars and go for the simple solution, an Aston Martin. Was convinced to test drive the GTR by Jurgen (JM-Imports)..... I immediately started looking for I wanted, a red 2010 model. Turned out to be rather hard to find, but finally found it at Middlehurst Nissan. This is what it looked like the day I collected:- [ After a tedious 1200mile run-in, the car went to ValetMagic for some trim wrapping (interior and exterior), some minor parts (ypipe, some K&N panel filters) and a detail. Exterior:- Interior:- Some of the interior wrap: Had the car dyno'd (at Surrey Rolling road) when it was standard and it made 499.5bhp - very happy consider the brochure says 480bhp. Then had the car mapped by RyanG using EcuTek (engine and transmission). Known Ryan from Supra days. Dyno'd at SRR:- Then this came up for sale:- Forge headertank finishes things off nicely: With another service at Sly I added fuel injectors and downpipes. Was heading north of 620bhp, but then brought down to 612bhp and torque at 610... torque was too high for standard rods! Finally decided on my road wheels (will get some 18s for proper track use next year ) and MPSS squared setup, collected them today and had them fitted today - thanks Sly for slotting me in last minute  Here are 2 quick pics:- Did a track day at Silverstone, the full GP circuit in December last 2013. Great fun, even with the freezing conditions, ice and mildly damp track. I am a very average driver, but the GTR is just immense on the track - not bad considering it was on low boost, so about 530bhp!! Only car that got past, was a faster GTR driver Video of the sound from the about half way down the straight (and yes, I am passing a 350z):- On the track day I got warned about the noise of the car, 106.6DB, so after the day, I swapped the ypipe over to a silenced version. Sly also fitted some braided brake lines (as I had problems with pedal feel) and at the same time Sly fitted an amp and rear sub box upgrade, the standard one was shocking!! In July I passed 13000 miles and finished a 1200 mile road trip through France and still love this car! Had a minor issue with the CEL coming on, but Sly sorted that easily - O2 sensor. Sly has fixed a few of my dash rattles and fitted a set of Eibach rollbars. I dropped the car off at Valet Magic for a detail and some other small things:- *detail (touching up of a few stone chips and small marks) *re-wrap bonnet vents (mine were looking a little worn) *re-wrap 1 side mirror (small section was peeling) *big mouth front *removal of rear wing and wrap the bootlid (just cover the open bolt holes, while I decide if I like the look of the car without the spoiler - this is only for on the road and I will be getting a custom spoiler made up for track use) I really like the big mouth front and the rear look is growing on me more and more!! The new bootlid is currently on order and should be on the car in about 4 weeks time A few more pics When the new bootlid arrives, it will be painted to match the car.
  4. i think there bringing out a new spider which is going to be share the platform with an MX-5, i would bet on it looking like a 4c as thats the way the whole range seems to be going, except a bit more creature comforts i.e Carpets Have heard that as well and sounds good to me! The weight of the 4c just puts it into a whole different level for new cars.... will be watching
  5. Im waiting to see if they release a convertible one.... for the missus
  6. You will be surprised how cheap they are to maintain if you go through the likes of Sly They can be pricey, but I have owned mine for over 2 years now and spent more on mods than anything else. Its the composure of the car that does that.... you "notice" the speed a whole lot more when driving But seriously GTR's are crazy fast and moddable. I would like to have one, one day but do you not think other cars would have been more wow? There are many cars I'd personally take over the r35 For the same price as a GTR? There is nothing comes close IMO Nice choice, would LOVE a DBS, but the pricetag is just too much. I test drove a v8 Vantage S before I bought my GTR and it was a nice car, but nothing like the GTR (which blew me away). I had the idea of moving away from modding cars and was swapping cars every 6 months.... then Jurgen suggested I test a GTR Will post up a build thread of it, with some of the pictures and history of the car. Its a red 2010 model, always gets serviced by Sly so some might have seen it there.

    350z wanted

I realise that, but I am in no rush missus wants a 4x4, so might do the 350z from a shell up build if I cant find a cheapish one by Feb or so next year

    350z wanted

Just met Mark@Abbey and after a nice chat, 350z definitely is the way
  10. Already know that they dont like drifting on track days planned to keep the 2 rather separate! Most definitely!! Looking forward to the whole, not just the end weight

    350z wanted

anything for to view this weekend?
  12. Thanks man. The car will be used for track days and stuff too (never actually ever done a track day) but without a doubt drifting is where its going to find its home I'm hoping it will be done in the early part of next year so I can get practicing and developing again. Think it's going to be quite a hand full at the start until I get used to it To be honest I'm not sure of the weight at the moment but I will weight it when I take it back to my parents in Norfolk because we have a weigh bridge there. I reckon it will be a little bit lighter than standard cos the seats weigh a ton but I've put some weight back in the cage. At the moment its anyone's guess I will be on the other side, more track focused and just trying to learn more car control via the drift side of things Very interested to know the end weight, so please keep us up-to-date.
  13. Weclome, sounds like a nice car +1
  14. awesome build!! Something like what I am planning, but Im aiming more for a mix of events, not just drifting Cant wait to see this built!! When do you expect it to be finished? What are you expecting the finished cars weight to be??

    350z wanted

Time to start the search!!! I’m looking to buy my 350z.... details:- not convertible colour - does not matter, but my top preferences are blue and white, but will consider all miles – not a problem if the car has been looked after (servicing, etc) full service history manual budget is up to £5000 mot'd and tax'd I am based in Surrey and would like the car to checked over by either Kaizer or Abbey - so be upfront about any issues these guys will find everything. I dont mind if things need to be done, I just dont like finding out afterwards. Thanks Graham
  17. The spoilerless look is very marmite, some have hated, but I really like it, now I just need to get the duckbill lip made up or buy the bootlid. Not sure on the spec of the Z yet.... not even sure on the different specs available. Drove one in South Africa when they first came out and really liked it, so figured it would make an interesting project. So the idea is drive use it as a road car for a little while and see if I still like it, if I do, it will more than like move to a NA stripped out track toy with the primary goal being light-weight and weight reduction....... and not to mention safety!
  18. Thanks for the very warm welcome.... Just busy finishing off the GTR and then onto the 350z couple minor things left to do and then its pretty much finished. Current spec (for those that are interested):- Engine mods -silenced (decatted) ypipe -downpipes -1000cc fuel injectors -k&n panel filters -EcuTek remap Handling and brake mods -Eibach ARBs -Braided brake lines -Uprated brake fluid -Projex wheels -MPSS 285 squared tyres Loads of carbon wrapping has been done and other touches. I have removed the rear spoiler and carbon wrapped the bootlid to see if I like the look of the car. Now looking for someone to make a small custom duckbill spoiler and then I want to get a full custom (big and detachable) rear spoiler for track days. Some other brake mods and maybe some track day wheels are the last few items on the list. Some more pics:-
  19. Hope to see some good looking Zs around then! Thanks again for the welcome. I have stuck to my same username on the different forums (470bhp supra, 390bhp sti, 610bhp GTR, xxxbhp Z???)
  20. thanks for the great welcome!! Any idea on what weight the Z can get down to? Fully stripped for track, cage, etc. Rough weight as a goal.......
  21. thanks nice looking car... PM me details price, owners, mot, tax, etc
