Hmmm its all a bit of a nightmare isnt it lol...i spoke to nissan and they told me changing the unit can cause problems...probably a ruse to get you to go to them lol!! Then do i keep it original or change it...will the new one fit ok and look ok with the interior, should i buy a secondhand OEM unit and fit that...will it work or not...will i need to re code it...bla bla bla lol. Luckily there are some good peeps on here so watching this post 24/7 lol

Good idea. I'll try and give it a go...im just a bit nervy about taking it all apart lol...any other car, fine, but my zed...eeeks!! At the mo it sounds like it tries to load a cd and its getting caught some how and keeps repeating this process, i cant eject the cds either. Its a common problem judging by what im seeing on here as im sure you know mate. I need to add your Xbox acc too!! haha

Right i see, yup, obviously the changer is nothing to do with the NATS system so wouldnt affect it. Thanks! I did have a skipping problem to though, especially when it was cold, so im actually thinking the head unit may need changing too...although i see you mentioned you had a similar problem and it cured it?

So what youre saying is that you took out your head unit but kept the changer and connected the new head unit to the original changer??

Ok i want to get another oem unit for my 2005 zed, secondhand. Now im confused. is there a code that ill need to punch in for the new one to work or will it just plug n play!!? i just phoned nissan and they were about as helpful as a boil on the end of your nose!! 'apparently' theres 2 types of electrics on a zed, one allows you to use a different unit and the other doesnt, they wanted to charge me £50 to tell me which one i had!! hmmm. can anyone set the record straight please!!?

from forum: I know this is a really old thread,but I left my 350z for 3 weeks while on holiday, and when I went to start it ,the radio comes up "WAIT" followed by "SECURE"..no music ,no radio,no cds,nuffin!! This is when it needs a code,which is supplied by the dealer.To get the code,the radio must be removed,and the serial number along with the vehicle reg,given to the dealer and he can look it up "on the system". The vehicle must then be left with the key turned to the first position until "CODE" or "INSERT CODE" is seen on the display.Apparently this can take up to 2 hrs..Mine is sitting in the drive now waiting for the message to appear. Nissan will do all this for you but the UK price at present is £40.. This is the norm for the CLARION system.

Things you need to wrap your car: a scalpel, preferably Hexis degreaser, a heat gun, wrapping gloves, a thermometer, another pair of hands if poss, and somewhere undercover. Remove all dirt, wax and tar, remove indicators, badges etc, headlights and rear lights you can probably leave on, wash and degrease the whole car including door shuts, nooks and crannies as youll be folding the material into a lot of these. Leave overnight or at least 3-4 hours to enable the car to fully dry out. Dont expect the vinyl to perform miracles. Hexis or 3m are the best vinyls...i prefer 3m but theyre both very good. Dont buy the material from ebay!!!!!!!....or china!!!! Post heat after each section you apply. You dont need to post heat everything, only where youve stretched considerably. Post heat to 90 holding the thermometer about 5-6 inches from the car. Hope this helps!!
