I have always ran my AC in every car I've owned whether hot or cold.

 

Sure I have read that if you don't run your AC for long period ie months you run the risk of joints drying etc as there is lubricant in the gas. So it will be detrimental to the operation of your system if you don't put it on for long periods of time.

That's right if you don't use it for a long period of time you can cause yourself issues with the system always good to run the AC once a month at the least, have mine on all the time

the black lustre is just a metallic black, the pic you have seen is a close up so people can see the flake in it.

 

it does look black from a distance, its just close up its designed to look more like a painted metallic finish,

 

i've not had a roof done in it yet, so you would be the first in the club, all the others i've sold have wither been carbon or gloss, and i think 1 lot of matte.

Maybe a stupid question but if you change your mind and want to remove the vinyl, I guess it just peels off without any crap left on the paintwork....?

You saying black lustre is a bad idea? not a fan of Matt or carbon so its a toss up between gloss or lustre and I kinda like the latter

Well it took almost all day but i got the reverse camera installed, just waiting for the front camera to come and that will go in next Whilst i was at it i also installed a USB connector in the lift up arm rest:

If you want constant power you can use the power from the Bose amp think it's the yellow n red cable positive n black negative well that's what I did as I can have it on will driving too looks rely good when u put your foot down

Well i managed to sort it today, whilst installing one of the cameras i removed it and found a very loose clip so covered it with good old duck tape and the buzzing went

Looks a mess but it did the job and once fitted you dont see it

The comma AC bomb is "the bomb" used it for years on different cars especially when I first get them to clean the system out. I actually used one on my Z last week I didn't have a nasty smell before was just to clean it out but after using I now have a damp smell for the first 5 mins when I start the car and AC comes on.

Gonna get another one and give it another go other than this time it's always worked really well

This is shocking mate, sounds like a right knob.... "The other driver" I was knocked of my motorbike a couple years ago by an uninsured driver who tried to do a runner so I feel your pain...

The remote cable in out you refer to is surely the standard RCA type connector ? we also use those which carry a 12V feed inside with just a tail of a few inches either end which saves an unsightly extra single wire and just makes for a bit less work

It's a 6pin connector similar to a a pci express power connector from a PC. Managed to find one in maplin which I think and hope will fit, gonna take a look tomorrow

Hi all.

My already installed alpine head unit doesn't have the remote in/out cable attached which is needed for me to attach my reverse signal. I have searched high and low for this lead on eBay and cannot find it anywhere.

Does anyone know where I can get this or tell me which one of the 6 pins on the back of the head unit does the orange and white wire to to if I cannot find the cable I may try a hack.

Just checked and I don't have the "remote in/out" cable connected to the head unit, this is needed to connect the reverse power feed had a look on ebay and struggling to find the connector. Going to see if I can buy one direct from alpine or try hack it
