  1. Just a quick heads up for anyone interested in buying the blue 370z on ebay item number

221211282122. This is a scam, the bloke will tell you he is selling his dead brothers car and promise to make the payment through ebay. The link he sends is fake, the car doesn't exist.

  2. I plan on keeping mine for a few years, hence my reason to get one with as little mileage as possible. I know I will need to travel, but my work schedule means that I don't have a lot of free time at the moment. I'very been dragged into work today, and will have to work Sat,Sun and Monday. I had plans to go and look at a few this weekend, but that's all out the window now.

  3. I was always told that 12k for the first year and 10k every year after was the norm. I was looking at a car with 71k miles going for £6.5k, looks okay in the pictures, but travelling over a 100 miles to see a dog would be a pisser.

  4. I know the engines on these cars are fairly bullet proof and that nowadays nearly all car engines can cover high mileage, but is anyone else still put off by cars with loads of mileage? My MX5 only has 45k on the clock and its 2000 model. I keep looking through auto trader etc.. and see cars I like, but when I see 80k miles for instance on a car costing 7-8k it puts me off a bit.

what sort of mileage has yours got and would you be put off by high mileage?

BTW - I know a car that's supposedly spent a lot of its life doing motorway miles should be okay, but there's no guarantee.

  5. It is if you want the noise, I know, I'm an old fart :surrender: Heat sink should be a consideration too.

I haven't got my car yet, but have been reading up and dreaming of the mods I want to do. I love the extra noise you get from an induction kit, but having tried various induction kits on my MX5, I gave up because of the loss of low down grunt. The heat soak of the alloy pipe and the hot air being drawn in, really murdered the engine and it was especially noticeable during the summer months, not to mention the extra fuel I was using, and in the end I went over to a supercharger.

One of the things that MX5 owners do, is to use a decent panel filter and drill the airbox. That way they got the sound and not as much heat. What do you guys normally do to combat the problem?
