  1. Whats your budget? As imports aren't too different in price from UK now.

6-7k. Seen a nice JDM for 5.8 though, two owners, full history etc. Very tempted. I'm off to have a look at it a bit later in the week, so will update:)

  2. Hey all.

I'm considering buying a JDM, but would like some input in regard to what I should watch out for and what questions I should be sure to ask when it comes to viewing. So far I want to ensure it's been converted to mph and has had the speed limiter removed. Also that the nav system has been reprogrammed to work in the UK. I have been told that I should also look out for signs of corrosion under the car because Japanese imports aren't "sealed" in the same way as UK cars....Is that true? Ideally I'd like to gather as much info as possible, so any and all help is greatly appreciated.

    Cheers

    James:)

  3. I have nice 05 350 coming in...

Azure blue with some nice Nismo extras.

    59k

    Proper history.

    £8.5k

Suitable car for a discerning owners club member!!

The name Trade Link rings a bell, and I can't recall why. Where are you based?

  4. Hi. It's on eBay at the mo. maybe finishing today. It has ben advertised for quite some time. The car is so far north in scotland it's unreal! He wants £5800 for the car

Yeah, it's a good few hundred miles from where I'm at and I'm pretty far north. I would travel for the right car, thinking that isn't the right car though

  5. Possibly putting mine up soon matey as Im looking at some BMW coupes, Ive just put some pics in the Photos section from a detail I did this weekend.

Beautiful looking car, but I can't help but think it might exceed my budget. Any chance you could PM me a rough idea of how much you would be after?

    Cheers

  6. Hi all.

Well, it's been almost two months now since I started looking for a 350z. I don't know if it's because I'm being overly picky, or just bad luck, but I still haven't found one that ticks all the boxes. GT version, no more than 80k miles, fewer owners the better, full history, deep dish alloys (this might be where I am coming unstuck), non-standard exhaust and my budget is between 5-7k, which I think is reasonable.

I had one lined up through a local garage, but they completely screwed me around so I walked. I've also had a couple of deals that have fallen through for various reasons.

Can anyone recommend any other places to buy aside from eBay and Pistonheads? Or, any trusted dealers that sell Z's? I've been checking the classified forums on and off, but I seem to have missed the only ones that I had an interest in.

  7. As long as the service history is good, the condition of the car is good and you can 'tell' it's been looked after and maintained, it should be fine.

Mine's on 92k now and all original. I've only needed to change the gearbox twice, clutch 3 times, rear diff once, a set of new pistons and rings and 2 new cylinder heads, but just like Trigger's broom, it's just as good as it was when it left the factory.

(Apart from the fact that my car is on 92k, none of the last statement is true).

Ha. My heart dropped when I read that. Then I noticed the "disclaimer". Nice one

  8. How many miles would you say is to many when looking to buy a 350z? Reason I ask is because I went to look at one the other day, and although very tidy and with full service history, it had close to 90k on the clock. Are the engines generally considered solid even past the 90/100k mark?

    Cheers

  9. Yes I think the bashing of trade-link has gone a bit far now people

    You started it...

I still think its Trade-links partner that started the thread, and its backfired like a shotgun to the face!

You said the same thing about me when I asked about a dealer in Bolton......Although to be fair, you may be correct on this occasion.
