  1. (mine currently has Vredestein Ultrac Sessantas on front and rear but they may have been discontinued now? been informed these are also great but reasonably priced tyres if you can get them still) Or Bridgestone Potenza RE050s? Mixed reviews on these!
  2. I'm getting Michelin Pilot Super Sports fitted today on the rears, supposedly excellent tyres- cost me about £135 plus VAT, will work out about £160 per tyre I think. Thats at my partners garage but they do only make a couple of quid a tyre so I expect they'd be similar price for you too. I've also heard the Toyo T1-R are similar to the Falkens but a bit softer.
  3. Excellent, thanks for that. Does seem like thats the case then- will have a close inspection when I get home. First job is working on the interior this evening whilst I have a bit of light left after work. Then got some Muc-off ubershine shampoo, claybar kit, super resin polish and some Dodo Supernatural to have a proper attack with on Saturday!
  4. Interesting! That has eased my mind a little! I'll see what the guy thinks regarding spraying the whole lot or trying to repair that one spot. Thanks!
  5. If I wrap it, should I sort out the tiny bit of rust so it doesn't get any worse? Its literally like a tiny stonechip about 1mm in width. Just don't want to take the wrap off if I came to sell it, and it pull a load of paintwork off or discover some large bubbles Jay I think I agree with you- least the paint gets rid of that and ease my mind. Small thing but I hate little niggles!
  6. Does look a bit that way on the photo- but to the naked eye it doesn't look at all different. Only noticed when the pic was opened up on my high res apple monitor at work! Either way that will be getting sprayed soon, think i'll colour match it to the wings / bonnet. Edited to add: don't think the lighting in that picture helps either- its parked in between two barn / garage buildings so its more lit up at the front end. But there's still definitely a difference!
  7. Hello! Finally picked my 350z up last night! My boyfriend has a friend who sprays for a living, so usually works out about the same price as a wrap would cost. Firstly I want to get the front bumper resprayed as there is a scrape on the passenger underside from a kerb or rock? Also, its not at all noticeable to the naked eye, but in the photograph I took this morning (below) it looks like the front bumper has already had a respray and the colour match isn't quite there. So I'd like that respraying (might also source some clear or smoked reflector lenses too whilst bumper is off) This leads me onto the roof... there are a few spiderweb type cracks from stones or something on the roof, one is starting to show a teeny weeny speck of rust. Do you reckon I should get it sprayed gunmetal at the same time as the bumper? Or should I get it painted gloss black and tint the back window? .....and on top of that, even though the price is about similar for me, would you rather get it wrapped so its removeable? But then I'd still like to know that those spiderweb crack chips are gone from underneath else I'll always know they are there! What do you reckon? Lou
  8. Correct! Saw it on the Friday morning, and had viewed and the deposit paid on the Saturday morning
  9. Also there's a few paint chips in the roof that have cracked like a spiders web, and one looks like there's a tiny amount of rust forming. Reckon it'd look good with a black roof? I want the front bumper respraying to cover up a scrape on the lower passenger side, it also looks a slightly different colour than the rest of the car but noticed its only really visible on photographs? Or is it just my eyes? So considering either respraying the roof to get rid of the rusty bit, then I know its gone.... either in GM or in gloss black. Or alternatively wrapping it in gloss black. A friend of my boyfriend does spraying for a living so we could probably get a cheaper deal than wrapping- but then its permanent!
  10. Turned out that it didn't fit on the trailer, too low! Not worth risking sill damage so I had to drive it the 50 miles home with barely legal tyres. Didn't want to push it round any corners just yet! In a straight line the power is incredible, so smooth but as I noticed even in 4th coming out of a 30 limit, slight foot to the pedal still leaves tailgaters way behind! Not totally floored it yet, want total confidence in the tyres first, so some Michelin Super Sports are going on tomorrow morning. Sounds incredible when starting up from warm!
  11. Welcome! I'm picking my first Zed up tonight.... Today is dragging. Enjoy
  12. Thanks, shall bear them in mind. Stubby aerial, a good wash and a day of detailing and the leather repair, thats all I'm allowed to spend for a good few months now! Rear tyres are verging on being road legal! I went for the option of fitting my own choice of tyre back home. Rather have to trailer it home than find out they've stuck something useless on!
  13. Good news! Collecting the Zed on monday evening! A good week earlier than I thought but I'm not complaining. she needs some rear tyres though so we'll be towing her home to my partner's garage and we can get them fitted asap!
  14. Sorry! Read your reply on my phone late just before bed and forgot the next day. Don't have any pics of the interior yet! They will be sent your way when I do though- may be after a new gaiter for gearstick at the same time Good news is that i finally get to collect the car on Monday evening! Bald back end though so if you see a GM zed on the back of a low loader you can take a guess at who it might be.
  15. I've emailed the seller to ask how far on the process is (if its even been started....) So you guys reckon that if it came to collect the car next week and its still on the private reg, I'd be fine to trust them with the documents being sorted, and insure it with the private reg? Notifying them of a future change too. If so, should I be taking the car without signing the v5? Will update when I hear back from them.
  16. Haha! Don't hate at all, the Nismo doesn't look quite so bold when painted up and colour matched! Yours looks great. Regarding the trim- wonder if just the satnav cubby would look naff wrapped by itself? I've been in touch with Zedmanalex who will have some in stock eventually if not
  17. Could I insure it under the current private plate until it is transferred and then call up the insurance and let them know its changed? Will kinda need to use the car to get to work asap. If its not completed by the time of sale, who should keep which documents? If I call up on Monday and tell the trader that I'll be coming to get it on Saturday, is there any reason it shouldn't have been completed by then? Its due for tax at the end of March so needs to be sorted before this!
  18. Also- considering I put the deposit down last Saturday, and am collecting in about six days time, what happens if the private plate is still registered to that car? Should it not be sorted now? How would I go about insuring it? Sorry for all the questions but I've never been involved with private reg before Thanks
  19. Hi The 350z I've paid a deposit on is currently on a private plate which is not included in the sale. Due to collect it during next week at some point. When first registered it was GJ54 FD*. According to my HPI check, this was changed to a private plate in 2006, then 2008 it was removed and apparently went back to GJ54 FD*. It then went onto another private reg, which is currently on there now. When this one gets removed, should it go back to GJ54 FD*? The other half seems to think it just gets allocated one thats avaliable, and that the original private plate owner must have put GJ54 FD* onto retention- which probably isn't the case now. Just called up the dealer who has sold the car, and asked him for the new reg to sort out insurance.... he said GJ54 FD*.... but makes me wonder if he's just looked at his own HPI report and given me that registration. When I put that 54 reg. into my car check, it says there's nothing on the records. But the current private plate still is. What do you think? Don't want to call up insurance quoting that plate when it doesn't technically exist. Cheers
  20. That one looks a little better, had just gone straight past it in the ebay listings after spotting the corners- but guess they do look a bit smaller than usual replicas. Thanks for that. Will remember when it comes to getting bumper painted- although could look pretty good in black too
  21. Yeah that is still my current fave I think... Just a bit more than I was planning on spending. Spot on the style i'd like so i guess in a month or two it could definitely be on the list. If anyone has anything second hand please let me know
  22. Same here, had a fair few cars and a van to add to the mix, but with the "sportiest" being a 2.2 Astra Coupe this is definately going to be my first quick car! Will be standard for a while until I find a nice front lip, then will treat it to a front bumper respray whilst I'm doing that. Also need to get a panel of the leather driver seat sorted, its worn through so finding somebody to repair that at the moment! A nice exhaust is definitely on the list but then will just have to see what happens! No plans to go over the top with anything, I prefer the standard look. Pick the car up hopefully next week, so excited!
  23. Looking for a front splitter, any colour / material but good enough to repaint, preferably smaller than the Nismo style ones. (not too keen on the large wings on the corners, needs to look normal without side skirts as I can't afford them to bulk it out and balance out a huge lip yet!) Thanks! Louisa
  24. I think your best option Louisa will be the stillen. Speak to Tarmac. It's not the smallest but it is subtle, not daft money and available! The trouble with the veilside copies is getting hold of them and the crazy prices. You are probably correct there! Do very much like the look of them. Will send a message and see what I can find! Thanks a lot
