You will see my car there ...... Again!!
Had the air temp sensor put in the inlet mani and mapped for proper intake temps . Also some modded intake pipes to sort out the slight hesitation on part throttle . Jez is mapping it as we speak
...... Feel your pain !! Modded cars is sometimes a headache . Gtr on the horizon I reckon
I spoke to Jez about this actually. Sounds wise. Also about he frozenboost, and actually that my heat issues only started when I got the oil cooler! That thing is a huge heat pump straight into the inlet.
Nick has managed to fit his frozen boost .... May well be worth chatting to him about the install . I'll let you know how the rest of the work goes with mine as it would be beneficial for yours also if it all works .
Where is your oil cooler located ? On the right as you look at the front , directly under the air filters?
Bang central, next to the intakes.

I reset the ECU with the pedal dance, and the pending codes went. The stored ones are still there. What it does seem to have done is bring the AFR back to normal ish.
That pulley I zoomed in on is the one that wobbles a bit.
Here's what I measured as AFR when I thought that I could smell a lot of unburned fuel... Eek!
-
Bah! Reggie's thrown some codes and running ridiculously rich.
O2 sensors banks 1 and 2 low voltage P0131 and P0151. The AFR was reading between 10-11, and no power to speak of.
Popped the hood and checked for boost leaks, nothing I can see immediately wrong but one of the pulley idlers is rattling and can be wobbled by hand.
I've reset the ECU and will investigate further when the engine has cooled sufficiently.
Car to Jez for a look tomorrow.
This depresses me. Time to sell up and get a diesel estate with no mods. :-/

Mine was hot today. An hour of A-road driving, 5 mins in the petrol station heat soaking whilst I filled up, local roads with 15 mins of traffic. When I got home I popped the hood and measured the temp of the charge coolant.
53 degrees! How's that going to cool anything? No wonder the car was not letting me have any power!
-
Hey Kharmon! No worries we are a friendly lot here.
The A272 is fantastic! We have some great roads round our way.

Halaluyah the frozen boost is in
Hooray!! How did you do it? Will you share some pics & how to? I'd love to get mine fitted!

Hello and welcome!
I may be called a heretic for this, but I miss my Rex. Not in a way that I'd replace my 370z or the 350z I had after it (both are better cars) but there is something really special about the RX8. Mine was a 40th Anniversary 2008 with the Bilsteins and posh wheels. I occasionally have dark thoughts about picking up a PZ model as a bit of a toy as my 'z is all a bit crazy in comparison. Anyhow, you'll love the 'z whichever you get. In my experience it is just so much more than the RX8 in many ways (though this does also include weight, it is less 'chuckable').
Welcome

Give me a shout dom if you're going to meon hut , I'll pop up
I will! Was all a bit last minute yesterday.

On the subject of a meet, I found out there's a performance car meet at West Meon Hut. It was on last night and is apparently a regular thing. I saw one 350z there, and plenty of all the usual names in big power cars, plus some exotica. Lots of burnouts and donuts, and friendly natured fun. A few chav-wagons about with peeling wraps and an epic Peugeot 106 with colour changing lights underneath!

I run the miltek with art pipes ( decats) and it's still very quite even with the charger on .
I had straight through decat pipes on my 370z, and it was loud. The motordyne art pipes are a lot quieter than regular decats (on my car at least).

Well I'm usually around most evenings, and I'm not away much over the coming weekends so pretty flexible here.

I have a midnight blue 370 based in Frensham. We will have to have a Farnham Meet.I live in Farnham. I haven't seen the Nismo you speak of but will keep an eye out - would definitely love to check it out!
I'm one of the 350's around Farnham (gunmetal 04 plate)
Good idea! There's a nice looking 350z blue just round the corner from me on Burnt Hill Rd too.

Eh?

Stillen did tell me there is no need, but I do think it might be a good idea…
-
The catch can, doesn't this affect metered air or is that only for PCV? There's a detailed thread on here about Positive Crankcase Ventilation (which I still want to do, despite Stillen saying it isn't necessary).
