  1. Hi guys right got stuck in with the kit last night and this morning, manifolds are all off and as expected the steering rack is the sticking point! Here's a couple of pictures from what I can see my options are space out the rack, shim up the engine or have a new knuckle made although I believe gtm do this in the states or lastly get new manifolds made up.

If anyone has any helpful suggestions fire away :-) f54e794983b4ce0dfc9f97d0f6379280.jpg4dbb573ede167f555d0e9468b3a30cef.jpg9d0be1f36c064aca178baaab8811e683.jpg

  2. I was looking at ditching the cast manifolds and hopefully getting some stainless ones designed up then it should be easy to cut & re weld the downpipes around the steering column if needs be. Plus it might give me a little extra flow to the turbos

  3. Yes I did my research and thought that would be a problem but I dont use my car as a daily driver, and I can get a custom manifold made up if need be. I know its a gamble but its a risk I took if it all fails then I will just re sell the kit on. Im not a dreamer behind a desk thinking it will be an easy fit. Im a trained mechanic and now a offshore technician so im in the right place to get it all sorted & have access to all the tools/companys i need to get it on well fingers crossed anyways :-)

  4. No I've done abit of research but obviously a lot or most of it infact is from the states so wanted some uk info but as guessed the kit came up and I did have to act fast to get it.

But I appreciate the advise il get some 550s, I'm not upping the internals just yet il run it on 7-8psi and upgrade the internals next year hopefully.

  5. Hi guys

Ive just got hold of a JWT twin turbo kit from the states for cheap money. Have any of you guys fitted one or know what trouble I'm going to run in to ? Ha

I know it's not going to be a direct bolt & go I'm expecting a few troubles just thought I'd ask on here.

Also I'm yet to get injectors I'm running a standard block so will be low boost do you guys recommend 440 or 550cc injectors ?

    Appreciate any help

  6. I know there is going to be a slight bit of lag as obviously the length of the pipe work. But if I heat wrap the exhaust it should minimise the lag?

The setup suits me quite well as I can fabricate it pretty easy at work which is my main reason of wanting it ha

  7. Hi guys just been having a browse around the net for turbo kits & was looking into the rear turbo. I think its mainly done in the states by STS but its looks a pretty simple setup & I can easily knock this up myself at work.

I was just wondering what peoples opinions are and what size turbo would be best im not looking for mega power 400 be nice so maybe a garrett t28 ?

Also map wise I believe uprev can now do turbo fitments ? any help and advice appreciated

  8. Regardless of the crappy chinese turbo could the kit for example be used & then the turbo replaced with a garrett down the line for example ?

Also what managment would you guys recomend ?

Replace turbo, then you get it mapped again...

Then what happens when the manifolds crack after 6 months?

You already have paid for a vortech v3 kit by this point...

Use your head, it will cost you a couple of grand to get it and working. Then when it breaks or blows your engine up you're at a major loss!

Fair enough appreciate your guys input I squeezed him down on the price so was just hoping to get a bargain as does everyone but I suppose after managment & set up its not going to be cheap

  9. Very impressive Patch, looks fantastic.

Something I've found with the boot dividers I've made (and many, many apologies if you've already considered this and if I'm stating the obvious), but the acoustic carpet covering can add a fair few mm to the overall dimensions of whatever you're covering. Your box looks a perfect fit uncovered, it might be a bit of a tight squeeze once you put the acoustic carpet on.

Again, apologies if this is something you're already taken into account mate. :)

    Thanks fella B)

Thanks for the tip, but it's all in hand. I want them to be snug so they stay in place, the last thing you need is a bass box moving about whilst driving.

Quickly draped the material over and test fitted, its a bit ruffled at the bottom but you get the idea.

Just waiting for my terminals to turn up, once i fit those i can start gluing them together :teeth:

good work mate looks superb! B)

what size is the bose sub out of interest, i cant see a 10" fitting in there

Thanks bud, took my time to get these right.

The Bose subwoofer is 10inch, but very shallow.

Are you selling one of those prototypes cheap? Haha

One is staying with me and the other will go in the classifieds, will be much cheaper than shipping one from the US anyway.

Keeping the original as a template should i get interest for more ;)

Rough price ? I think in pm you said £90 if you make them? But this one needs a little bit of work to get the sub to sit properly no?

  10. I am selling my pair of decat pipes for £55ono. Are in as new condition covered 200miles max! Bough in January with invoice to prove. Fitted them & then decided to go for a full invidia system so these are now up for sale.

Will come with all bolts needed aswell.

  11. I have just fitted the HSD DT's last week the ride is firm but nice, I have also got to do some tinkering as the back end seems to be making abit of a knocking sound but that is probably due to poor fitment on my part was rushing ha

I have not played with the dampering yet but liked the idea of 14clicks figured I would get a lovely smooth ride with that :-) Will keep you posted on the ride as things bed in properly but overall for what I paid £380 delivered I am happy, I got a set they fitted recently but came off after 50miles as the bloke went for the mono pros as decided to drift it.
