  1. Is there any way to check the seals while they are off ? Also just spraying brake fluid down the ports ok ? Or best to remove the snail & exhaust housings ? Appreciate all the help guys Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
  2. No the turbos where not new however had only covered around 5k miles. Oil pressure on startup is 50psi on cold start with the restrictor fitted it brings it down to around 15psi I believe and then the pump pressurising the bottom would be about 30psi I would imagine. So we'll under the 120psi. I have removed the turbos from the car now and tipped any excess oil out any recommendations on how to clean it properly I figured brake cleaner would be ok ? Shouldn't damage any seals ? Also I thought there was a rubber type seal to keep the oil in? At least there is in the rebuild kits they sell for journal turbos Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
  3. Yes the pump was wired incorrectly from the factory I should of checked rotation but presumed it would be correct. But I started the engine and then got out of the car peered underneath & noticed the oil coming out the exhaust flexi. So switched it off straight away hoping to avoid damage Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
  4. I did imagine it was the seals but i was hoping that if I cleaned them both it could of been the excess oil but I guess I will have to send them off for inspection/rebuild. Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
  5. Hi Guys Just looking for a bit of advice ive been building a twin turbo kit out of a Jim Wolf kit I purchased and as the manifolds where no good I had some low mount tubular manifolds made. All pipework etc is all complete they are a ball bearing gt25 turbos and are oil and water cooled. Anyways I have plumbed it all in using the oil restrictor from the Jim Wolf kit i believe its a 0.050" restrictor to bring the oil pressure down. Im using a EXA-Turbowerx scavenge pump to sypthon the oil back to the sump. However the turbos are leaking oil out of both sides into the exhaust & cold side housings. When i first set it up the pump was wired backwards from the factory and so oil was being pumped in from feed & drain only for about 30secs-1minute before I noticed the fault. Now could this have damaged the seals & thats why its leaking ? Or perhaps wishful thinking could it be the oil left over from this now being pushed out? My question is really can I tell if the seals are damaged ? Or perhaps a good way of cleaning the turbos if i remove them and clean excess oil out and re try. Or if anyone has any other input ideas that would be great. hanks in advance
  6. Where did you take the ignition feed from if don't mind me asking ? Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
  7. Thanks for that Andy where did you wire yours into? I'm hopefully trying to find a ignition feed in the engine bay for ease. Also are you running yours on a timer delay to drain it after engine off? Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
  8. Ahh I'm also in Yarmouth how much are you after ? If it's cheap il have it as a spare ha Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
  9. Ive gone with the exa pump now and it should be turning up tomorrow fingers crossed! Just another question am i still best pumping it back into the sump as i have heard maybe pump it back into the head at the top ?
  10. Thats the one i saw and was going to ask if it was upto the job so that looks like a worth while investment thanks for your help
  11. Hi guys I am at the end of building a twin turbo kit for my zed and the last thing I need now is a oil scavenge pump. I have read good things about the exa turbowerx pump but its in the states and ideally i want something uk based for easy quick delivery. I have fitted my turbos and got everything sorted its just the drains are now not getting the oil back to the sump quick enough as they are now low mounted. Does anybody recommend a good pump ? Also another question i am looking into wiring a led indicator to identify when the pump is working and trip off when or if the pump dies. Is this as simple as wiring the led in series to the pump ? Any help appreciated
  12. Hi Guys A random question but I know you guys use or have used the split second box on some of the vortech tunes to run the maps does anybody have the software to hand ? It came on a cd with a turbo kit I bought but I have now misplaced it. Any help appreciated
  13. Also a thought can the pump regulator in the tank be drilled out and tapped for a an fitting? This would just be quicker then me having one made Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
  14. I'm not after a 370 kit I'm putting it on a 350 :-) stage 0 kit will be what I go for but il try and build the kit myself I deal with a hose company at my work and they should be able to make it all up. Only thing I think I will have to buy is the fuel pump regulator for the tank pump line Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
  15. I have just emailed charles as seen quite a few bits of his on the my350z site. As for turbo kit i picked up a JWT twin kit cheap but obviously ran into manifold trouble so currently im adapting & fabricating some tubular low mount manifolds to adapt them for fitment :-) No build thread as yet maybe i should start one soon ha
  16. Hi guys I'm in the middle of my turbo build and I'm just working out the fuel system. I've got an updated walbro pump and I'm thinking of doing a return system to cope with the added boost. All I'm stuck on is wether I can just come off the fuel rail damper with a an fitting and loop it back into the tank? Also I read that you need to swap the fuel regulator inside the tank so that the pump can suck up from both sides and not run lean at a 1/4 tank. Any light shed is appreciated. 22. Hi guys I'm selling my set of 19" Pro race 1.2 racing wheels. I had them on the 350 but took them off for refurb and had them painted Matt black again but decided I fancy a change so they are up for sale. All tyres are mint and 6mm+ on tread. They are excellent condition and haven't been on car after paint. Will fit 350 & 370z The wheels retail at over £1000 without tyres I'm asking for £850ono so grab a bargain.
