Tyre valves

You misunderstand me, it is not the price of the valve inserts, more the fact that it may cause an issue with the TPMS if they start playing around with it. That is the reason I want to know if anyone has had any issues!!!!!

Tyre valves
in Tyres
Hi,
Just in the process of pricing up some new tyres, one of the places quoted me just short of £14 for new valves. I questioned this as the car has TPMS so does not have standard rubber valves. He then said that they replace the insert into the valve and this is what the charge is for. Has anybody had the same thing or are they trying to pull a fast one, after all that little insert must only be pennies!!!
Cheers, Colin.

Just spent 3 weeks touring South Africa unfortunately not in my Z but in an X Trail, would have loved to have my car on those roads. Enjoyed the roads but especially down south towards the Cape, mind you they do have a lot of traffic cops and I did have a meeting with them £££, In 3 weeks I only saw one Z and that was near Jo-burg!

I came back to my car after a 2 week break, the doors opened but the engine would not turn. Roadside recovery came out and tested the battery, some of the cells were dead. He put it down to the car being stood on the forecourt and not being run enough prior to us buying it, the car was less than 2 years old and 6k on the clock when the battery failed. Nissan replaced it free of charge but the garage had the car for 3 days, reason they gave was for testing and ordering, I was not impressed especially as the recovery guy had one available.

Just travelled along the M62, saw a Black 350 in Liverpool this afternoon, Toxteth area. Then a Black 370 I Ripponden heading towards the M62, anyone on here?

The bonnet hinges were not like this when we bought the car, to be honest they do look flimsy and they are designed to pop up in an accident. I also think part of the problem is that when cars go in for services these days things like hinges are no longer lubricated like they used to be. That is something that I will be doing in the future and hopefully it wont happen again.

Yes it is under warranty, hopefully get the car back today, this is not an isolated case, I was reading on another forum that a few people have had the same issue.

61 reg 370 went in yesterday for new hinges and the bottom of the "A" post re-spraying. I went to fill up the screen wash a couple of weeks back and on lifting the bonnet I heard clicking noise and felt a vibration. It turned out to be the passenger side of the bonnet catching on the "A" post, this in turn has chipped off the paint. Also on further inspection I noticed that the bonnet was not fitting flush against the wings, so off it has gone to the body shop.

Just noticed this on mine, also on the passenger side and the paint is damaged on the bottom of the 'A' post. Was at a dealers collecting some wiper blade inserts so asked them about it, answer was 'as it is an adjustment then it is not covered under warranty' he said adjustment were only done under warranty during the first month. What is it with main dealers, they all seem to be a bunch of unhelpful fu--wits

Nice car, that looks very much like Calderdale Halifax/Ripponden !

Had a trip to Malton, a 2 hour drive but worth it, the guys at Atkin Motors are friendly, helpful and efficient. 100% better than my local Nissan HPC, I would definitely recommend them, see you in March

I keep a pingi dehumidifier bag on my dash, it seems to help stop the windscreen from being all steamed up.
Gudzy they look like a good idea, I have just ordered 2, 1 for each car, will see how it goes, cheers.
-
Ok, thanks for the ideas, I have ordered some Gummi Pfledge so will give it a try, the car has not been used much and we did have a lot of rain, the de-humidifiers may be a good idea The worrying part is the actual window drop when the door opens, I have read that Vaseline damages the seals although I have used it on a previous car which I no longer own.
-
I have tried searching but can't find anything, The car was covered in ice the other morning (no garage), everything was frozen, windows, doors, door handles & boot. The door windows were frozen solid along the seal even after scraping and using de-icer, I believe de-icer rots the seals so don't fancy using it on a regular basis. What do you guys do/use, today I sprayed a cloth with silicone spray and wiped this around the door and boot seal but is there a recommended product. More importantly what can I use on the windows, I don't like the idea of the door window being frozen in place whilst I try and open the door Cheers Colin.

Hi, I have completed the update so have a set of discs available for whoever wants them

discs posted to cmp99
thanks again to cs2000, I had problems with some discs, disc 2 I tried at least 20 times with varying intervals, so I copied the disc and it worked straight away, I did the same with disc 3, I have included these in the post for cmp99, new discs are easier to read for the h/u and can be copied slower
Discs just arrived, thanks again GIXXERUK.

Gudzy (Tom) Just a quick thank you for calling around with your car, it was nice to meet you and you have given me a few ideas, Cheers, Colin.
-
Pm sent to GIXXERUK, cheers.

I wouldn't mind having a look and listen at your car sometime please, just to get a few ideas what to do to mine when it is out of warranty. Only subtle changes though as i'm not a youngster anymore and it's time to grow old disgracefully.

For some reason I thought you had a private reg?
The weather is my excuse, lots of rain I had to keep my eyes on the road!!Only now you've told us
Aliensurfer did had a private plate but I never have.
I'm looking at a private plate for my next car to match my brother's and father's though, thankfully it's only the minimum price of £250, one of the benefits of having an unusual name.
Are you also selling your 350, if so what are you thinking of getting?
