I'm the same, i don't like the massive corners on some of the nismo reps. This one http://www.ebay.co.uk/itm/271007690697?ssPageName=STRK:MEWAX:IT&_trksid=p3984.m1423.l2649 has smaller corners. Don't bother with an offer though, he just ignored me when i sent one.

I've decided these will get rid of the sound i'm not liking, so thanks to Mark@Abbey having some knocking round at a decent price i'm having some. I'll post vids of both sounds up when i swap them.

+1. Its a bit of pipe. Some Tommy Kaira ones will be made of lighter stuff and the welds will be better but it wont sound any different. Also silenced decats will still be loud and they will still rasp. That was exactly my thinking, so i think the motordyne art decats are my best option

I know what the figures say, but they don't always tell the whole story. From experiencing both on the same car, the decats left the car feeling more free revving and from then my mind was made up. Like i said earlier i don't have any problems come mot time, so it's not an issue for me

I've used hi flo cats before, although they claim the same performance as decats, they have never been as good for me. I was disappointed the last time i used them

:lol: Interesting desription Arran, In all the cars i've owned i've only ever had one rasp and that was a mk3 astra gsi lol, i'm not sure if it will sound ok in a few weeks but if not i will defo be paying the extra for the motordyne art decats. I've had a couple of people already say it sounds great, but the rasp is new to me so we'll see

Does anyone have any info on how much of the rasp they get rid of?

Mines just ticked over 100k with a great service history and runs perfectly. As long as it's been looked after mileage isn't a problem

I've been out for a while and clocked up 60 miles, it seems to be losing the edge on the rasp, so i'm warming to it VERY slightly lesson learned D There's no drone at all, and it's very civilised under 3k, it's just the rasp but it seems to be dulling. I think the berk decats are what i'll replace them with. No mot worries for me

They didn't have to as the labour price is the labour price, it's down to me to make the decision wether to have it done or not.
