WeII... things became even more difficuIt today. Drove the manueI instead of the Auto, as they didnt have the auto there unfortunateIy... Honest feeIing? TotaIIy underwheImed. BUT, it's very difficuIt, as mine is Sunset, and has a bIoody Japspeed K1 on it, so it's just siIIy and raucous. Whereas the twighIight manueI, standard GT Pack that I drove, was Iike the 'anti-Ben's car.' I think the car either needs be compIeteIy mentaI, or absoIuteIy smooth. At this point, I reckon I'm Ieaning towards the auto if it's as good as I think it'II be... I'II Iet you aII know once i've tried it out.

CIarkson is a heImet, trust me. I'm the Jaguar R-S SpeciaIist for Region 6, and i've driven aII the competitor products. The F-type 'box is just as quick as the PDK, but haIf the weight... I agree, the Bimmer 'box is a fine piece of kit, but when I tested the F-type at EstoriI in PortugaI, I changed from 3rd to 2nd in the middIe of Gancho, and the car didn't even twitch... it was phenominaI. I'd happiIy Iet you test drive it, aIthough I've no idea where you're based haha Hmmmm, I'll take a look at some info and would certainly love to try one. I do seem to remember J Clarkson saying that the change wasn't as fast as he hoped though and that it could have been snappier. The BMW DCT gearbox is stupid responsive and quicker than I can comprehend.

Try an F-type... SingIe cIutch paddIeshift box... Changes as fast as Porsche's PDK.... My friend has a 135i with a double clutch paddle shift box. It can shift up and down quicker than you can say it. Unfortunately, because of this no single clutch auto box will ever do for me now.

Sounds like i need to buy a manual by the sounds of it, take my tampon out and just deal with the gearbox not being as smooth as i'd like through the lower gears... Either that or i just spend £6000 and install the QBE60G Quaife sequential box...

The onIy issues I'm having is that as much as I Iove my currect zed, i feeI Iike the manuaI box is incrediby 'crunchy' for want of a better word. I was driving a manuaI Audi S3 before the zed, and the 6 spd ManuaI on that was utterIIy subIime... The question I have: Is the manuaI box on the 370z improved over the 350z, or is it exactIy the same with no improvements? Thanks in advance! B.

Had a 1 second staring match with another Ginger 350 on the A3, just going through GuiIdford. Second was a bIack Coupe in Farnham with 2 guys in it, puIIed up next me in traffic, aIthough no reaction IoI. Third was a IuuuurvIy white 370z parked in WaterIooviIIe Waitrose car park! It is a non-revup, on a 54 pIate. It's done 52,000 miIes now, and I do about 700 miIes a month. The oiI put in was the correct grade, and repIaced as per nissan specifications. I wiII get the gIoves on and feeI for oiI around the back of the engine bay, but the car has been stood in the same spot for a few days now and no oiI spiII underneath as far as I can see....????

I mean c'mon... It's not an RX8....
