Hey guys!!
Well, thats me and Mark home now, and i just wanted to thank every single one of you who has helped make this weekend a success!! Between the drivers and their passengers, the guys who came over to see us on the Saturday afternoon and evening, and the traders who donated prizes for the raffle, the Peak District 2016 weekend was made memorable!!
The highlights for me were:
- The socialising with old friends, and making some fab new friends too
- Bobs Saturday morning panic... I'll say no more on that
- The fact that both lead drivers had roundabout hiccups within the first 15 minutes of the first drive....
- The police car that stalled when overtaking our group on the hill in Glossop. I still think she was going to stop and give me a rollocking if she hadn't stalled haha!
- Saturday afternoon show and shine
- My husband winning the P3 service and MOT (for a zed he doesn't own)... I know what my birthday present is this year!!
- Every single drive. Each route and road we took reminded me how amazing our own country is!
There were a few things i didn't do so well, todays stopping point left Ken in a war of words with the d1ck in the VW.... Wasn't the best place to stop, but its something i can improve on.... I think my show and shine categories were a bit wishy washy, and i also discovered radios were indispensable (huge thanks to the guys who had these and shared then with the lead and end cars!)!! I'll take this all on board for planning....
PEAK DISTRICT WEEKEND 2017!!!!!!
(that is if the forum will let me!)
I hope you all had safe drives home, my convoy most of the way with Hugh and Ken was fun!!
I'd like to think you all have big smiles and enjoyed yourselves, i'm currently sat with a nice cold glass of wine and actually fully relaxed now! I just need some aftersun for my burnt neck and arms and i'll be happy!!
I will start a new thread for all photo's and video's relating to this weekend, and i will update the raffle prize winners tomorrow and arrange that side of things for those who weren't present!
We also raised just over £500 for St Marys Hospice in Martinmac's honour, you should all be proud of yourselves!

Another way of doing it (if you can garner enough interest) is do it as a bonus ball raffle. Pick a Saturday draw, sell 59 tickets beforehand for say £5 each, bonus ball is drawn and that number gets the prize and you get £295 for charity.... We do that in my workplace a lot with raffle prizes etc and it seems to work well...
Good luck however you do I though Great charity and fab prize for somebody!
