  1. Bit of a long shot really, Just wondering if anyone lives close to this postcode

    SO531HA

    Story goes...

I won a set of wheels on eBay and the seller sorted out the courier, a week went by and no wheels turned up, so rang the bloke and he said they had been twice already to pick up the wheels but there was no space in the van for them but they were picked up that day apparently. I asked for tracking number but he was at work and couldn't access it so would let me know it later. Still haven't got a tracking number of him to this day and still no wheels in my possession either. Rang him again today 1 week on from the above and he insists the wheels were picked up last week, but he is still reluctant to give me a tracking number. Maybe they have tried to deliver them but I missed them (got them sent to my work for ease) and they are sat in a depot somewhere.....haven't seen a missed delivery card though.

I basically think they guy is either taking the p**s and hasn't sent them yet or he has no intention of sending them as I won the auction pretty cheap and he doesn't want to sell for that much and maybe hoping to keep my money too.

    Back to the postcode...

I put the postcode in google street and found his address and the car is there with the wheels on which proves he does live there and I wasn't given a bogus address.

I was wondering if anyone who lives close, like a 5 minute drive or something would be willing to drive past and just have a quick look to see if said wheels are on the car that he is breaking, if they are still on the car I know he has no intention of sending them and I can start the process of claiming back through PayPal.

Small gift via PayPal for a christmas pint will be sent over if anyone can do this :)

  2. This could be a daft question, but where abouts on the zed (assuming its for a 350?) does this go? ive only had a zed a couple months and havent seen this before, it doesn't look like a tonneau cover to me.

  3. I've come across some wheels that have caught my attention on eBay. Here is the link, hopefully it works http://bit.ly/S2UdFx

I've messaged the guy asking if he had a price in mind which he responded "make me an offer" which I did and he has accepted. I offered him £400. I've not committed to anything yet as I want to find out the widths and offsets before anything and want to see the damage on one of the wheels. If I got then a refurb would obviously be on the cards.

Regarding the offer. What do people think of £400 for these? Could I be getting a possible bargain or have I offered too much? Slightly worried the damaged wheel might not be repairable but sometimes have to take a chance.

    Opinions appreciated.

  4. Happy days it was genuine! Can't believe how much it was up for, I'm not A fan of them style bonnets but debated buying just to make a few quid selling on but didn't want to risk the drive down to York. I never got an email back from him 1 week ago so thought it wasn't genuine.

Good luck with it, remember to get pictures once its all sorted out and on a zed.

  5. Good spot, but £700 bonnet for £100 and a pic straight off the Seibon website wouldn't fill me with confidence...

If it's really off a part-ex as stated the guy probably won't even cover the cost of getting a stock bonnet on the car for £100.

My thoughts exactly, ive had people try and scam me through gumtree before wanting bank transfers, so chances are there is something fishy about this. Maybe a different matter if someone lives local, there is no harm in speaking to the guy and maybe having a quick look at it. I debated it since Newcastle isnt too far but didn't want to risk even a 180 mile round trip for something which could be bogus.

  6. Bit of a thread bump, here is my derriere. Not the best picture in the world, it was taken on Iphone.

Standard cats and Y pipe for now. Exhaust is a kakimoto 06&R

How loud and droney is the Kakimoto exhaust? I quite like the simplistic design.

Not loud and droney at all, did a bit of research before i got it and was confident enough it wasn't going to be ott. Hard to explain really, its like oem but nicer lol. I still have standard cats and Y pipe, if its fitted with HFCs or decats with a Y pipe it might be totally different. If i get the chance tonight i will try and get a couple videos from inside cab and outside.

Will PM you with vids to save cluttering this thread.

  8. Could be a mirror switch fault or a mirror motor fault so further investigation will be required, however all parts in stock if required

Regarding the steering wheel being off centre.

This should be corrected when the tracking is getting done.

The steering wheel should be clamped in the straight ahead position before the tracking is adjusted.

Take it back to the garage and get them to rectify this issue.

    Alex :)

Is there anyway to test the mirror switch (I assume the round twisty knob you use to adjust the mirrors?) apart from the obvious of taking it out and fitting a new one? If new switch is only way I will take one soon of you, going to need some exhaust gaskets and bolts in the next week or two so might as well get them all at the same time.

Is there a noise from the mirror when you are trying to adjust it?

Nope no noise when trying left/right. Only sound I can hear I what I can only describe as a slight click coming from the door, maybe a rely or something? But the mirror motor is deffinatly not trying to move to the side.

  10. I picked my 350Z last weekend and had previously test drove it the weekend before. On the test drive everything was spot on apart from what I thought to be the tracking, the car drove straight but the steering wheel was off to the right a bit, car doesn't pull to te right or anything though. I've just been to have the tacking done hoping it would fix this so when driving straight the steering wheel would be straight too. Although the tracking was out and is now sorted, the steering wheel is still to the right. Wondering if there is anything else I should be getting checked out? Or can the steering wheel simply be loosened off, straightened up and tightened back up?

On a different note, just noticed something with the wing mirrors when adjusting them. drivers mirror glass will adjust up, down, left and right where as the passengers mirror glass will only adjust up and down, there is no left and right. Is this the way they are? Or is there possibly something wrong with the motor?

  11. So it was you who got me in the last second !

It will bolt to Y pipe

I agree with tarmac re gaskets

Apologies mate lol, had a feeling it would have been someone on here who I just beat, thought you had me to be honest, think i got a bit lucky. I'm hoping that's the case with gaskets, I know Jurgen from JM imports a bit since I got my last supra from him, so hoping he has a bit knowledge with this exhaust and can maybe fit it for me too! Next on the list...Y pipe!!

  12. Hi guys, hoping some of you have a bit knowledge with this exhaust. A week or so ago I won an eBay auction for a regu 06&r exhaust, some of you may have seen it too. After doing a bit of research before bidding I came across this thread viewtopic.php?f=25&t=5299. I messaged sinbad, but didn't check the date he was last on, so can't see a reply coming anytime soon since it was 2009!. The exhaust I won on eBay is exactly the same as what he had judging by the pictures.

    So, questions are...

    1) from some of my research it's been suggested that the exhaust gaskets that are needed have to be kakimoto gaskets, anyone know if this is true or not? They are £20 each! Was hoping I could just use cheap £5 ones!

    2) I assume this system goes straight onto oem Y pipe, anyone know if it is literally a straight fit or is some sort of adaptor required?

  13. Good luck with the hunt :)

You should find a high mileage 04/54 Azure GT for your budget - just check the service history with a fine tooth comb - I highly doubt you'll find one with 'factory sat nav' though -(and why you would want it I don't know - the birdseye was pish) this wasn't part of the GT spec either.

Have a look at Irfan's

To be honest, Im not massively bothered about the nav, think its just more that when I test drove a couple, one had nav and one didn't, and it was just nice to have something to fill the empty space. I could live with it if I didn't have it.

I was actually eying up your car when it was for sale, sods law I was a bit too late. Seen a couple azure zeds go on the forum for decent prices so I'm sure if I be patient I will find what I'm after.

  14. Mine is up for sale - a roadster but ticks the boxes :-)

As much as it ticks all the boxes, I just can't bring myself to get a roadster, might just be me but I can't get away with the back end of them, for some reason I dont think it looks as aggressive as a coupe. Nice looking car all the same, But just not for me, sorry.

I know of a nice set of 19's up for sale

    viewtopic.php?f=32&t=64784

Them wheels are the sex!! However by the time i pay for refurb and rubber I'm looking at easy £2k, after buying zed I simply won't have that sort of money straight away :(

  15. How about - viewtopic.php?f=56&t=51840 :) I'm sure it's still available... :)

It is a lovely zed, just a shame them 19s don't come with it, means trying to find funds to buy a nice set of wheels that could Pull off the body kit. I'm also no sure how I feel about the body kit, might have to see it in the flesh I think. It might be worth a look if he isnt too far away. Seeing it in the flesh might sway me a bit more.

  16. Hey everyone,

On the lookout for a Azure blue zed. If anyone has one they are thinking of selling soon or knows of one I might have missed, please drop me a pm.

As for what I would like with the car, looking at between 04 - 55 reg and I would like all the GT spec toys if possible:

    • rays alloys

    • heated leather

    • Bose 7 speaker set up

    • factory sat nav

    • xenons

Anything extra such as exhaust system, aftermarket alloys, lowered suspension, any performance mod will be an added bonus.

Ideally looking for a zed that has a decent amount of tax/mod left on it still and the lower the mileage te better.

As for the budget, looking to spend around 7500, maybe a bit more for the right zed.
