I've been looking into this for about 6 months, and the few companies that I've asked all seem to say the same thing along the lines of:
"Problems with LHD engine and gearbox into a RHD are the limiting factors, which I don't think anyone in the UK has overcome yet"
I'm so tempted to do it, but won't be for a while yet
could you not use a monaro lump and box to solve that?

When working at marshall in cambirdge a few of the GTR owners where getting new cars wrapped in the same colour so when they came to sell it they got it removed and there would be no stone chip or anything as if it just rolled out the factory bodywork wise, weather it worked or not i dont know
-
anything thats not from halfords or wilco

i think if your think its a fast sports coupe your missing the point and the main point people are raving about which is the handling,
i havent driven one would love to mind, but this is a mx5 rival not one for a 350/370z,
But wait to see if the rumors are true and nissan bring back the silvia name to take it on.

going to show my youth and everyones going to hate me becase hes not a legend but
Rob dyrdek, whos motto i guess is the term 'You make your own luck'
he may not be the best guitar player or anything in the world
but he is a guy who came from a average back ground now an ex pro skateboarded a succesful Entrepreneur, and always doing stuff to help the communitys in LA
Hes got the correct attitutde about life and doing things, he is a bit of a star but is always arranging and doing things with fans not like book signing but inviting them down to his place of work to do random stuff

Low ?
you guys need to check out the lifestylers on driftworks and go spend 5 mins on stanceworks then you see low
and both the low pick up will be on air/hydros setups which is under the law of Scene kid status a crime.

Alot of the BERGCUP racers use em but there all 15" mind

As I said up top, you pay for the badge, and the fact that there are probably 10 Leons to every Scirocco on the road.
I dunno i no when i was working for seat in 3 years we had 2 cupra r's come threw one was a demo and the other sold
and i see loads of sciroccos on the road but maybe thats just cambridge
-
Scirocco definitely a better looking car than the Seat, but you do pay a premium for the badge.
Looks are in the eye of the beholder i think there rear of the scirocco is boring but thata me
Also the fact of the matter if 90% of parts in each car are identical, i wouldnt be suprised if over 1/4mile the seat is faster due to less wasted power through the Haldex
The Cupra is very keen on a tune too, 350bhp with not much fettling at all
The Scirocco and Cupra both have the same engine and yes it is very easy to tune. Also the Scirocco is not 4WD so I'd guess the weight will be very similar between the two.
o really i cant see why youd pay the extra for a Scirocco then

Shame it has to be auto as these are a nice cheaper alternative

Shall be down there on sunday with a few cars from my local group look out for Cabletie Racing cars, Shame lewis cracknell aint running this year as he used to run a few of our stickers

I run 245/35/19 and 275/35/19 and have no TC issues@Plummerman, are they the steel greys? Suit your car vey well indeed, hope you don't have TC issues with 35's on both axles
genuine question but do people think that is a tyre has a 35 profile its always the same as in 35mm? and dont know that it stands for 35% of the overall width, as ive seen it here and on american forums people saying got to be carefully running both 35 on the same axle as that doesnt stand for toffee if your running staggered widths?
-
Fair enough. In the photo I posted I was more questioning why you would run the tyre 2-3mm from the top of the wheel arch. If the suspension moved EVEN SLIGHTLY you would just rip the tyre to pieces or damage your arches....surely??
with some cars and ive noticed the 350 does it as the shock compresses the wheel doesnt just move up it also brings the top of the wheel in so if youve spent time looking into perfect fit offsets/widths/tyres you can run close like that and never hit the arch.
-
and what 80% of cars ive seen on here including now my self are running knock off wheels
-
Ouch, that mint green one looks expensive. I don't wish bad luck on anyone, regardless of what they do to their car, but I doubt he'd have had an issue if he was running sensible wheels and tyres.
*thump*
That's me landing, after I finished jumping to conclusions.
But then not every wants to be a sheep

Or buy a monaro for 7k use the engine and other bits needed and part out the car to reclaim some costs
