Is it something like this you want?
Exactly same as how my one came up ^^ tricky one to get it to look how you want it i'm afraid.
Yeah I thought it might be a difficult one! Thanks very much both, appreciate it if! Think I can gauge from that, that it would work as it would be slightly darker and more shine to it I guess! Still weighing up other options too!

I love those wings! i managed to find them here but can't find them on any uk site! http://www.fly1motorsports.com/nissan370z/aero-jacket-vf1-fenders

Okay great, cheers both! I'll find a local place that will do the mixing into a spray can for em then and see if they can add the flexi additive. Not 100% sure I'm going to be doing this yet because as you say Ricky I may just end up destroying the pieces anyway but appreciate all the info in case I do go to order some paint
-
Where can I get that? Is it something added before application or on top of?
-
You can paint it with just std 2K primer and colour, doesn't need a flexy additive unless its very thin and prone to a lot of movement,
plastic primer is for ABS not FRP.
They are quite thin though and will no doubt flex a bit when I inevitably catch them on speed bumps?
-
Cheers all! Sounds good then! I spoke to CNT and they said they weigh 15 pounds so would be like 6kg of my baggage not too bad especially if I can get a bargain on forums but sadly the one's I had my eye on have gone now Gonna keep looking on there though!
-
Just use a decent flexible primer and it should be ok
Cool! Just regular plastic primer from Halfords should usually be a flexible one I guess? What about keying the surface? Just a fine sanding?
-
Yeah I fitted them all at the same time mate. I wanted a rear diffuser / rear spat type thing so it's got a 'full' lip type kit thing but Evo-R didn't have any black ones in stock (only carbon) and not a fan of many other ones so left it be.
Tis up to you on the colours, I wanted to keep a stock car underneath so in half a days work or so I can have a completely stock car for when I sell it on. At the end of the day, they're just black bits of plastic, can come off easy, sell on easy, and they're cheap to buy in the first place.
Yeah true! Looking into painting them atm or maybe colour coding my door handles to the wheels so at least it's one less colour on the side view and if I don't like it they can just come off like you say Cheers mate!

Is it possible to paint FRP (fibreglass) such as 370z sideblades, with regular car paint? I'm thinking I might want to paint mine to match the wheel colour which is BMW ferric grey so could just get that in halfords tins!
Also, what do people think of that plan? Will they look odd in anything other than black?
-
Car looks lovely mate! How did you go about fitting the side blades? I've got a set ready to go on but not convinved I want them on after test fitting them! How do you find getting over speed bumps now with them on?
Cheers buddy, the screws they came with went straight in the bin because the heads on them were too small for the pre-drilled holes IIRC. So after grabbing some new screws we drilled more mounting holes, lined up & fitted as per. Off memory there was about 4-5 holes pre-drilled, mine are held on with at least a dozen bigger head screws each side.
As for scraping I've only caught them twice so far, that **** take of a speed bump into JAE and a huge speed bump on some stupid single track road up to this mansion place where my cousin got married last year. That's also the only 2 times I've caught my exhaust too btw.
Thinking about it, they've been caught more often by shoes getting in & out
I see them, and my front splitter, as wheel spacers. Try them, if you're not happy you can take off with no damage to your car (bar some tiny screw holes underneath of course) then sell on - no biggy.
Alright cool! Cheers bud! Out of interest did you have them on before your splitter? I'm just wondering if the reason I dind't like them test fitted was becuase I need a splitter to balance it all out! I'm also thinking that as they are black, my wheels are grey and the door handles are silver, I think ti may bee too many colours going on the side
But yeah I guess not much harm in trying them out, unless I snap them on a speed bump I guess!
-
I think you might have a case - in the same way that if you get caught drifting in a Tesco carpark you get nicked despite it being "private", if there is open access to this speedbump then it should also be considered as public.
I also have a very good mate who works for Highways that Ive been through this with previously, give me the dimensions and Ill run it by him and see what he says.
Not had a chnace to measure this weeken but when I do I'll post the results if you could be so kind to ask his opinion! Cheers mate!
@vodoo + gman Yeah when I read that I thought it wasn't as simple as just 1 straightforward measurement! Never is, is it! No doubt if I did even get as far as getting them to do something they'd find a technical way around it
Bloke with sports car complaining about speed humps is unlikely to generate much sympathy.
Is it the black plastic strip under the car just behind the lip that catches? If so I believe some people have removed them.
I don't object to traffic calming measures but I have noticed that by far the worst drivers around our way are the mummy's racing their little cherubs to school. A lot of them drive hefty 4x4s that sail straight over the local speed humps without having to slow down at all.
Yeah I realised I wouldn't get much symptahy hence whey I made no mention of the car in my email, just that it was a standard car and that it also happened in my old 'standard' car

The amount of fleck in it makes it look very much like paint, never would have thought it was a wrap!
Agree with theheff above though, not a fan of the wheels, don't think they do it justice! Each to thier own though!

Just wondering, do you know whether or not the side skirts from the 2015 Nismo will be a straight replacement for the one's on a 2010 GT model? Thought you'd be the best person to ask assuming you've already done some research into fitting Nismo parts to a regularone!
P.s. where's the bumper update??
There is a set of 2015 side skirts on eBay if ur thinking about it..
That's exactly why I was asking
-
Are these update sets still floating around? I've read through the first few pages but rather than reading all 15 just wondering if someone still has some they can pass on? Assuming they work that is? Mine is a 2010 connect premium btw if that matters! Cheers

Anyone? From a bit of research on the U.S. boards it sounds like they're the same as he Berks only a different brand!

Nissan says the ground clearance for a 370 on 18" wheels is 126mm and on 19" wheels it is 125mm.
You must be a heavy bugger then to lower the ride height to 100mm or less
Haha! Well Christmas has only just passed!
So either that measurement doesn't include the little chin spoiler or the bumps are too high!
-
-
Put your foot down as you hit them and get the car on its arse and chin in the air
Would probably put a dent in my front alloys they're so harsh!
-
Yeah half moon one's same as what I'm talking about, these damn things....
http://www.simonmarketinggroup.net/Speed%20Bump%20Photos/Black_yellow_SB1.jpg
I also found the standard 370 to be lower than a 350. I used to catch my 350's exhaust really badly on them but couldn't complain as it was lowered!
-
I reckon if you catch them regardless of what you do with regards to angle and speed, then they're too high. Go measure them definitely.
Yeah that's what got me thinking! Will go and measure at some point while I also measure the clearance I have without the chin spoiler in terms of lowering
Key measurements from what I can see is less than 100mm high and at least 900mm long!
Apart from that it's not always possible to take them at an angle anyway as the roads are quite narrow so if something else is coming you have to go head on. Also one of them is at the gate so it even narrower and due to the fact there's no room to straighten up before reaching the traffic lights which are placed immediately after the hump if you don't take it straight on you'd be waiting at the lights partly blocking the other lane if you see what I mean?
Show off your Le Mans Blue (09+ 370z)
in Zeds grouped by colour

Can't beat Le Mans Blue! As everyone's said not yet seen a photo do the colour justice and it does change A LOT! I much prefer it looking relatively flat in normal daylight!
Will get some of my pics up soon when I take some decent ones!
Where did you get the Z burger badges from mate? Are they just pull off and stick on?
