  1. I'm using something similar to 3m tape... Got my rear window spoiler on with it - and it's proper solid! But it wouldn't stick to the inside of the eye brows as its not smooth. Was thinking about tiger seal...but I might want to take them at some point...
  2. Hmmmm...it doesn't work! May be I got mis-shaped eye brows? As when I put them on the headlight (and headlight is obviously curved) - looks like eye brows don't have enough curve in them, as bottom corner and top corner stick up...and when I tape them down- few seconds later they pop up again! Hmmmm...I will try again with different tape l at the weekend
  3. To people who's got them on - what did you use to stick them on? I've got some extra strong carpet double sided tape - but it's too thin and wouldn't hold corners down (so they stick up). Got some thicker double sided tape, used it before on other bits - and it's pretty solid, but this one wouldn't stick to the inside of eye brows as they are now completely smooth... What do you people use then? Some kind of silicone?
  4. Haha well, he is quite thick - so may be local paint store just taking the **** and charging him £200 per roll of "non-straight" masking tape...?
  5. Forgot to mention about bonnet... I did say that bonnet and arches have barely any lacquer on them, but while arches at least look half decent, parts of bonnet dried out like rush because if just few drops of lacquer. Also he didn't wait wait for it to cool down and masked it away while lacquer was still soft - there are few lines from masking tape now. Added this to the 1st post.
  6. And this is one of my points, if he could have got a local labourer in for £80 a day then thats what your value was People in Ekona's trade rarely get out of bed until they need to cancel until another day anyway And my point is - that it was never about money... It was favour for favour. Just like he said - he spent £1200 on just materials...other body shops laughed at that and said they could do 4 cars for that lol £1200 on material to do your front end and this was after you paid £100 towards paint? I assume this was his first job and he's including the cost of the gun and compressor? Haha by the looks of it lol he said it cost him £1200 in materials (yea, that's after I paid £100 towards paint), that doesn't include booth time and labour
  7. Get me a job there In Ekona's bed..... One day I will remember to be careful with my words on this forum

  9. If youre getting £150 a day for less than 8 hours a day doing unskilled labour in a bodyshop let me know when you need more staff I don't work at bodyshop... And I'm getting paid that for a skilled labour
  10. Haha do you want to know if it's before or after my health insurance and other things as well? Lol Yep, same here...notices couple of hairline cracks around air intake hole another day... Awful!
  11. That! Although I don't think I'll go as far as local paper... Social media is quite good at it these days
  12. And jut to confirm - I never asked or thought of doing him a favour in return for a free spray job... HE OFFERED IT! And I made this thread not to configure out who owes what to who, but just to warn people!
  13. To be honest - money are completely irrelevant in this situation! As it was agreed I do him favour and he will do me a favour after! I only mentioned money after he went mad and strarted screaming at me that I'm getting it all for nothing and it costing him so much.... Only then I mentioned that it did cost me in wages and fuel wen I was helping him out. And yes, if I worked them days - I would've got £150 per day...and would've worked less time than I spent in his body shop. Regarding fuel costs - it wasn't just the case of getting there and back... He doesn't drive - so every te I had to pick him up, take him there and then drop him off... And all the trips to the shops etc inbetween! And that was last year, when fuel prices were higher than now lol But yea, I will say it once again - money are irrelevant as it meant to be favour for favour... Until he started mentioning costs!
  14. More like you get what you pay for ......... Not always... As "technically" I paid over £1400 for it
  15. Totally agree! And I did trust him...otherwise I wouldn't go there myself and definately wouldn't reccomend him to others!
  16. Yep... And that's what I'm doing... While warning others in the process lol
  17. Cheers buddy! I'm sure we could sort something out if you want it doing...won't be this month though as got a lot on already. Let me know though, be more than happy to do it. Wicked! That sounds good! I don't want to do a full proper detail yet anyway, until my front end properly resprayed but I will message you on FB soon! Keep up good work
