  1. Don't laugh but I'm going to the Harry Potter studio tour tomorrow. I'm a massive fan and grew up with the books. not sure what to do Thursday and Friday yet though. We have a tastecard which gets 2-4-1 and 50% off in a load of places so will see where accepts that.

Good call on the Oyster card

  2. Cheers, I've heard good things about PingPong. Will definitely try that one out and my girlfriend is obsessed with steak so angus steakhouse is a must.

Loads of patio heaters too you'll appreciate at this time of year.

I'm a notherner and as such will be wearing shorts, t-shirt and sunglasses

  3. I'm off to London for 3 days with the girlfriend (leaving this evening) and was wondering if anyone can suggest some bars and restaurants to go to which won't cost me my month's wages.

I'm staying near the London Eye/Waterloo station. Any ideas?

P.S. I like to sit down so places with plenty of chairs would make me happy :D

  4. :welcome:

Now thats what I call an introduction!!!

Im Paul, I'm Pisces, and I like being my own boss!

(If this site has just switched to a dating site, can I state for the record I'm heterosexual!)

Seriously Rich, This is a great site and really helpful people on it, so enjoy :)

Cheers Paul, i've already got a thread going about my zed

Shame about your unambiguous sexual orientation, though my girlfriend will probably be pleased to hear it, hah

  5. Just give it a real good machine polish

    The inside !! :scare:

Try Alex, :pmzmanalex: or PM 'R35LEE' to see if they have replacements.

Or you could spray them or wrap them.

EDIT: Do yourself a post in the Intro & Welcome section so the members can say Hi.

Hah, yeh i think i'll stick with the less abrasive techniques... like chainsaws

Will put a post in the into & welcome section tomorrow when i have a minute.

I have to say though, as i'm new i don't recognise names and when you said zmanalex i didn't read z man alex. Instead i read zm anal ex... Just thought i'd mention that hah

  6. For those who complain about the national being cruel. 2 horses died this year:

    - Sychronised was 9 years old

    - According to Pete was 11 years old

Racehorses get a lavish lifestyle and treated like royalty when they aren't racing.

If you want to go on about cruelty, 2.5 million battery chickens are slaughtered each day in the UK after only been given 6-7 weeks to live. I bet you still eat those tasty chicken nuggets... I know I do, mmmmmmm.

  7. My Dad had one a few years back before the Hummer. Horrible, plasticky lump of a vehicle. I absolutely hated driving it, from the zero-feel steering to the gearbox akin to stirring a bucketful of bricks to the sports dash that was just some thin plastic stuck on top of the standard dash with some double sided tape. It had the power pack as well so had a bit more poke, but still ran out of puff well before any diesel engine should. It looks pretty good from the outside, but other than that it's a dog of a vehicle.

    Sorry! :surrender:

Hah, everyone is entitled to their own opinion. Besides, I'm not claiming it to be an amazing 4x4 or the anywhere near tthe best, but could you honestly find anything better for the price.

Yes it is a dog vehicle, i put both my dogs in the back and they loved it :teeth:

  8. Thanks, the exterior is in perfect nick. The interior could do with some TLC thanks to the previous owner apparently opening the doors whilst holding a load of keys (scratches all over the interior door handles). Any ideas on how best to repair/replace the damaged areas?

  9. I have a field out the back of my house and thought i'd try out the 4wd yesterday and its so smooth. Granted its bouncy but the suspension makes it feel like you're on a cruise ship rather than a jackhammer. I can even deal with the wood effect plastic interior.

They look great as well. Without looking at the number plate you wouldn't be able to tell it's almost 10 years old. Whereas you look at the 2003 models for the freelander, discovery or CR-V and they aren't exactly up to date looking.

  10. Bought a 2003 Shogun Sport 2.5L last week (a couple of days before I bought my 350z) and it is awesome!!

I had been looking at loads of 4x4s as my and the ladyfriend have dogs and horses. Looked at everything from ancient defenders and discos, Honda CR-Vs, Rav-4s (hah, yeh right!) and eventually came across the shogun. Cost me £3750 with 70k on the clock and it is brilliant, insurance is low too.

If anyone is looking at cheap 4x4s then you need to look at one of these. Fuel consumption isn't the best but all in all I couldn't find anything better for the money

  11. Just phoned up the garage to sort out paying for the zed and the guy has decided that my golf is no longer worth the £8,000 he originally and instead will only offer me £6,250. What a d*ck!!

So now I'm back to the drawing board and need people's help. I'm looking around Warrington for a 2007/2008 roadster around the 10,000-11,000 mark, where I can part Ex the golf and get finance on what's left over. Anyone?

  12. I know this is an old thread but it's a damn good one and it's making me want to go to the shoroom and clean my zed before I even get it (I pick it up next weekend hopefully). Problem is I rarely get half a day to spend on cleaning the car. How long does it take to do a full wash, including a clay bar?

The wash itself isn't the time consuming part, it's more the clay barring, polishing, waxing and sealing that takes up most of the time, and more importantly how fussy you are with the finish.

Basic wash for me, including polish and wax, personally takes about 3 hours.

Thats not too bad, I'm sure I can spare some time on a Sunday with the footy on the radio... might even fit a tv in my garage. 5 days till I pick up :yahoo:

  15. Sorry to hijack your post but I finally gave in to my desires and said yes to a 2007 350z roadster yesterday (not signed or paid for but it WILL be mine!!). I should be able to pick it up next weekend ready for the long bank holiday weekend for some cruising time.

I did have a couple of issues with it. The Bose system looks a bit outdated (tape player and all) and I kept seeing double when I looked in to the rear view mirror. Any decent alternatives worth looking at? I would browse through the forum myself but I'm at work and don't want to be shouted at for not working.

Also any simple bluetooth phone solutions that don't involve a cradle?

:yahoo: I can't wait to pick it up
