I've only just read this but I am so sorry to hear your news
You sound like a lovely, caring owner so Tia will have had a good life with you.

Not really my thing, I don't even have Facebook I'm old but someone sent this to my mrs, made me chuckle
Parent of the year award nomination...
Doesn't look dubbed which makes it all the more sad....
I haven't watched it but if it was that toddler who swears like a navvy then I think it is really sad and, yes, what abysmal parents she must have

I'm sure there is a Hello Kitty porn fetishist somewhere
-
Thats where I tried looking too. Amazon don't have any in stock and ebay just seems to come up with Hello kitty crap everything except car matsI know Halfords used to do these but can't find them listed on their site anymore.
You'll probably be fine with grundy's suggestion tbh.
Well at least you had all the pleasure of viewing masses of Hello Kitty merchandise grundy, even if you couldn't find any car mats for me
-
Yes, I got her last ones (now completely worn out) from Halfords but they no longer do them and neither do Argos. I honestly thought it would be easy to find some before Friday but apparently not
I might just have to resort to an HK air freshener and some balloons for the time being.

Thank you octet. I will click on link now and just hope I can understand what it tells me. I am a complete dunce I'm afraid
-
Is that right? I will investigate the ones from Germany again then
-
Ok thank you. I will
-
Er, I haven't the faintest idea how to do it then. Thanks anyway
-
No, not for me and definitely not for Mr Zed because he's a boy
They are for my daughter's new Fiesta or they would be if I could find any
I have looked online for the past hour and can only find them in Germany and the States but I don't want to take the risk of them arriving damaged/incomplete etc and having to post them back after paying hefty import duty and postage in the first place. Why does no-one in the UK do these things?
No need to tell me how much you hate Hello Kitty if anyone reads this. I don't seriously expect any men (or most women) to want to deck out their cars with HK accessories

How do you turn off cached e mail please?
-
Thanks Mudman. I will try to do those things although I am not in the slightest bit 'technical' and Mr Twobears is abroad as usual so no help from him
I wonder if it is something to do with linking my Kindle to the mac?
-
It's a 20-inch imac Mid 2007 so maybe it is 7 years old rather than 9.
OSX is version 10.9.4 (13E28)

For a while now my, admittedly ancient, mac has been doing strange things with my e mail. Sometimes it says I have new mail when I don't and at other times it dredges up old e mails and displays them as though they are new. I have tried looking for the answer as to why it is doing this but I can't find anything that helps. Are there any techie types on here who might be able to help please?

Ekona, the vouchers are about £150 I think? Not sure exactly because I didn't take out the deal with them. Apart from the length of time it took them to connect us and, in my experience, all companies, BT included, take ages to do that, I haven't really had bad service as such. I want to know if I can get a 1571 type service but that's all and I am just about to ring them now I've sorted out my car insurance. If I don't get through this time I won't even be able to cancel since I can't talk to them!!
350zedd, I have had very mixed service from BT in the past. They have been ok sometimes but dire at others. I just hate dealing with big companies, any big company, since they all seem to be as bad as each other.
-
Ekona, I don't want to cancel because it took weeks to get connected and I ran up huge charges on my mobile so not keen to do that again. Also other half wants his Amazon vouchers and we have to be EE customers for three months to get them.
Thanks 4RE Leather and Grundy will try that tactic as soon as i get off phone to Direct Line whose 'lovely' music is playing in my ear right now.

Great, sounds like I'm in for a fun few hours trying to get some sense out of EE
I would ask Mr Twobears to do it but he's on a plane en route to Zurich so I'm on my own I guess
I hate big companies
-
Can you repost that if it is a link please? Mr Twobears chose EE because it was recommended on MSE website as there is a cashback incentive. Guessing EE are rubbish?
-
I've just got a home broadband package with EE and I want to add an answerphone (like BT's 1571 service) but cannot see how to do it. I am not sure if I can just add the BT 1571 itself as I assume EE is renting the line from BT? I've tried calling EE but can never get through and have had enough muzak whilst on hold to last me a lifetime now. Has anyone got any useful advice please?

I must have been here longer than I thought because I can remember a lot of those pictures
Some nice photos and some not so nice (mentioning no names)

Sorry the car has to go but if you end up with a lovely house and eventually get the car of your dreams it is a worthy sacrifice
You should document the build on here. I think a lot of people would love to see a house being built

Hopefully no-one saw me and Mr Twobears as we manoeuvred Mr Zedders into the narrow garage that comes with the flat because it probably looked as though we were auditioning for Mr Bean
It was real teamwork as I successfully guided Mr Twobears into the narrow confines and then he put the roof down, took off his shoes, and clambered out. He was just too large to open the door and exit in the approved fashion. Being marginally (and I mean marginally) slimmer and more athletic I then jumped in, closed the roof and exited via the normal route whilst holding my breath and sucking my stomach in. What a palaver
Still, at least he has a nice clean dry and comfy little house now and the bloody gardener can't spray dirt and leaves all over him with his blasted leaf blower this week. That man has no idea how lucky he was that I didn't forcefully insert the stupid machine into one of his orifices last week

I have started to think my 5s is a bit lacking in battery life

Agree GMballistic. Maybe we could club together and rent the fast lane of the motorway from the BMW and Audi drivers for the day?
Neighbour's driving is driving me mad!

Petty complaint I know but the woman who parks to one side of my car when I am in Surrey (living in a flat with dedicated parking spaces) is driving me mad with her lack of driving skills
Every time she sets off in her car (some sort of Merc people carrier thingy) she revs and revs the thing. I am not a brilliant driver so I probably shouldn't criticise but I keep wondering why she is doing this and why her driving never seems to improve? She takes about 4/5 attempts to park the thing as well although even I can park Mr Z in an identical space in one seamless manoeuvre, which leads to more and more futile and noisy revving as she shunts backwards and forwards.
I have taken to parking virtually on top of a flower bed so that she can't get too close to my car and have put Mr Zedders safely in the garage because once she finally comes to a halt and switches the bloody engine off she invariably flings open her door without regard for the cars on either side of her. Her car is black and mine is white so I am dreading going out to find bits of black paint on the side of it or, even worse, dents
The odd thing is that her husband is just as incompetent a driver
Yesterday he flung open his door, again after much unnecessary revving and manoeuvring back and forth and I heard a loud clunk as he hit the rather smart Mini he'd parked next to. He didn't seem to care in the least. Fortunately they are moving soon so I am keeping my fingers crossed for better drivers as new neighbours because I feel quite stressed by this clumsy pair
Rant over. Feel better now, especially as I'm off home to Yorkshire tonight and I have enough room there to park 10 cars on my drive. I live in the middle of a field too so no-one can touch my paintwork
