I live in a hot and usually sunny climate so top down to and from work.
(Looks out the window at the wet, grey, miserable UK weather)... I hate you
-
I'm not a huge fan of white wheels, but do think a suit a red car really well.
If the price and condition of the Rays are right - go for it. You an always sell your original wheels to regain some cash and if you still don't like the white, get em re-furbed and/or resprayed.
Do it! You know you want to

Just a thought, as you were unaware it was (allegedly) an import and the insurance company have now mentioned it is.... And knowing the insurance companies will do absolutely anything to get out of coughing up. What does your VIN begin with?
UK VIN starts JN
JDM begin with z33

Jeez mate, that's an awful story, that just gets worse, but I hope all gets sorted in your favour. Good move on maintaining a record of who you spoke to and when.
Really hope everything works out as you hope. Keep us posted and as others have said, at least you're ok and no one got hurt.

....I love the feeling everyday when I leave work, walk out of the door and there she is......my baby just waiting for me to take her home! Stresses of work now all gone!
Amen to that feeling
I've had mine a month now (so still in the honeymoon phase I guess). I still look over my shoulder for one last glance as I park her up for the day aswell

Hi Pete and
You should be able to get your desired car with your list of requirements.
I recently bought mine for £5.5k (sometime eBay is a wonderful thing)
OK, it's got 81k miles, but FSH and I'm chuffed to bits with it. Hang on in there, your car's out there somewhere...

Thanks all for your responses
It's interesting to know how and when our fellow Zed owners use their cars.
-
Hi All,
I'm just wondering, how many of you guys (and gals) use your Zed as a daily drive (commute to work etc), as a second car (you've got another car as a work-horse/run about)), or as a toy (something that is kept polished and is bought 'presents' made of carbon, stainless steel etc and only comes out on sunny weekends and for meets).
Me? Mines my daily drive. I still buy it presents though

Thanks guys, appreciate your comments.
Was just a thought. Think I'll go the aftermarket HU route, but might try the iPod hack in the meantime.

Apologies if this is a dumb question, but I'm gonna ask anyway...
Would an OEM Bose head unit work in a UK car? i.e. Would the frequencies on the radio be the same or different and things like the bluetooth adaptor etc still work?
Has anyone tried this? I'm just looking at options to resolve the jumpy/sk, sk, sk, skippy Bose problem I currently have.
The reason I'm asking is: http://www.ebay.co.uk/itm/03-BOSE-NISSA ... 1713781459
(Yes, I know it's also grey)! If it's imported from the US, does this make ot a grey import? I'll fetch my coat...

Hi All,
Just realised I hadn't posted on here . I'm in Kidderminster and work just off J3 M42.
Had my Zed about a month now and lovin' it
Look forward to seeing some of you soon.

Cool, cheers guys.
I've read, re-read and then read the guide again and each time my confidence has increased a little bit more. As it really is a step-by-step process, I might just have a crack at it. Face your fears and all that....
GT4 Zed, thanks for the offer. If I bottle it, I may still give you a shout
-
Hi All,
OK, my jumpy, skippy BOSE cd player has finally got the better of me and I'm tired of listening to the SAME songs on the radio (regardless of which station I'm tuned into).
Has anyone in the West Mids or Worcestershire area completed the iPod hack and would be prepared to give me a hand with this mod?
I've read all the guides etc and, as great as they are, I'm just not confident enough to pull my head unit apart myself and go near it armed with a loaded soldering iron.
Please give me a shout if you can help.
Cheers, Ian

UPDATE.
Thanks again - I'm now sorted for tyres. Bagged myself a set of 4x wheels and tyres from a fellow forum member.
-
Hi Adam,
I'll take these off you mate. I need 2 front tyres, so seems a no brainer not to go for these! (If they're still available).
PM me your details and I'll sort payment etc (I'll need them deleivered).
Cheers, Ian

Great, thanks guys.
Paddy, definitely interested, let me know the details once the boots are off.
Alex, cheers. I know you've only got a few of these left, so I appreciate I'm gonna have to be quick to take advantage. May be in touch real soon.
Thanks again

Just thought I'd try here, just in case some one has a pair lying around...
I'm after a decent pair of (matching) front tyres for the OEM GT 18 inch wheels (not Rays).
One of my tyres needs replacing and the other is probably about 80% worn, so I'd like to change both. I know the subject of part worns brings up mixed emotions, and I'm not purely looking for just part worns (I will buy new if necessary), but I thought I'd see if anyone on here has a pair they've maybe changed for something different.
I'd much prefer to buy from a fellow Zed owner/club member, than say eBay, where the history of the tyre isn't known.
Let me know what you've got, cheers

Cool, thanks Hoff. You da man

Thanks Lexx. If (as a moderator) you want to delete this thread to reduce the number of 'same question' posts, please feel free.

I did read the (your) thread, thanks Lexx. This is why I was surprised when Halfords siad it would be a simple case of plug n' play.
I don't normally believe what they say as they're normally wrong. At least they're consistent.
-
Hi All,
I've seen from a few posts on here that fitting an aftermarket head unit requires additional looms etc. I do also wish to retain my steering wheel controls.
However, a trip to see what Halfords had on offer today (and a chat to there resident 'ICE expert') kinda offered different information.
He said (after looking on his computer, using my Reg No.) that the head units I were looking at (double DIN) would be a simple case of plug and play and that no additional wiring harness/looms would be required.
I'm confused now. I'm more inclined to believe that the Halfraids computer is incorrect and I would expect a phone call from them shortly after dropping my car off with a conversation along the lines of "Hello, we've pulled your dash to bits and have now discovered you need A,B and C. None of which we have in stock".
Can someone please confirm; would a new headunit be a plug and play item, or would I need any additional wiring harness/adaptors etc.
Cheers, Ian

Apologies for the slight hijack, but are these easy to remove (and how please)?
Mine are a bit untidy and I wanna wrap 'em.

...... I can recommend these.

I recently replaced mine (I needed 1x front and the rear one) and for the sake of a tenner for a set of all 3, I thought I'd give 'em a go.
I really can't fault them. In the heavy rain we've had recently, they've performed really well at all speeds (up to 70 mph naturally officer).
Just thought I'd pass this on
