  1. Hmmm...mixed opinions here

I have washed in the rain a few times, finish is ok just for basic wash. The one time I did put swirls in the paint work was wash in the dry but that was down to poor equipment :bang:

Washed the car sunday, filthy already now :(

  2. The nissan dealer near me quoted over 300 quid for a p1 (not that I'd normally go to the stealers but wanted to gage a ballmark figure) the local independant done it for 90 all in. Pays to shop around and go with a garage that knows what they are doing (preferably having worked on zeds before etc)

  3. Any more reviews to come....!?

I don't think my limited amount of mods or time with the car really warrants a review thread lol but I would be interested to see and read more of these threads from others with a variety of mods etc

  4. If the plate itself had to be a specific size I.e. 20.5 x 4.5 then any car where the number plate was irregularly shaped or larger like the Rover 75 and some jags would also be illegal?

    Valid point!

Sorry to hijack this thread but just quickly...how is the rear number plate attached to the zed?? Is it bolted internally or stuck on? Need to change my plates but scratching my head over the rear :scare:

  5. Yeah I think its the route to go!

I think a lot of people don't do it just because they don't want to get wet :surrender:

I don't like to chamois generally, normally its a micro fibre towel or mitt but recently washed the car round the girlfriends with cheap sponge and chamois and I've noticed swirl marks on the back bumper now

Will be investing in some megz ultimate compound I think!

  6. Well, what with this awful summer weather and the tendency for me to wash and wax the car for the heavens to then open up and undo all my hard work i have now resorted to washing my car during rainfall!

I still pre wash the car and then car shampoo\wax then wash off, all whilst raining it ensures that the car stays wet enough to not dry as it would in direct sunlight and i do away with drying the car myself with a chamois or similar. This make for a very quick wash session! I just leave it alone and the car dries gradually itself once rain stops normally leaving very little if not no dry water spots.

Firstly is this ok to do? The rain is clean enough i assume. And for a quick wash makes perfect sense. Obv the finish isnt as great as say doing it in the dry, drying and clay, polish etc but hey i havent got time to do that every week and until summer finally comes there aint much point!

  7. great idea Col, very useful and interesting to hear a personal view on all the mods for future reference.

By any chance have you got a vid of your Milltek before and after the HFCs were added to compare sounds????

  8. Just making sure this is the same problem... the whole wing mirror unit is loose (wobbles) agaisnt the car

you can see a slight gap agaisnt the rubber surround when i lift it up, this gets progressively worse so didnt want to keep wobbling it in case the whole thing comes off!

It would make sense for this to be tightened from within the car though, for example taking off the trim and tweeter and tightening from that sort of area, is this correct???
