  1. Well I bought mine last week, 2005 uk car, zero previous owners, grey with black interior, new tyres, new mot and in lovely condition for £4750 - so I would have thought it was about right for px.
  2. Thats good to hear - thanks for that
  3. Hey thanks all im thinking that the tape hack may be worth trying will it work ok on the none bose head unit? Thanks
  4. Could someone please tell me whether it's the speakers or the head unit that is responsible for such poor sound? I know a little about home audio and often it's the speakers that are the limiting factor? Is that the case here. My car is none Bose. Thanks mark.
  5. Specifically I was looking at putting an alpine double din unit in. I'm not wanting top of the range stuff, but would like to connect my iPod and also improve the sound. I had an alpine head unit a few years back and was very pleased. I would like to keep the dashboard neat however and have read threads where people have ended up with gaps around the new head unit. That would really annoy me. I understand that some facias fit better than others and I'm not opposed to fitting a single din fascia with compartment if these fit better?? I guess I'm wondering whether I will be able to achieve a neat installation with the replacement fascia and also whether I will get a good improvement in sound by just replacing the unit? Is the weak link the head unit, speakers or both? Thanks guys
  6. Hello, I have seen on eBay that you can buy a Bluetooth adapter that clips into the cradle in the storage box behind the seats. I would be grateful if anyone could let me know how well they work? Often stuff like this seems to not work very well. Just after some advice. Thanks mark.
  7. Hi everyone, Spent the weekend cleaning and oil changing the new beast. Running and looking great now! Thinking of upgrading the stereo. A dealer has told me that it is difficult to replace, as the fascia is very difficult to fix. The fascia in question here is the one required to convert the opening to a standard double din opening. I wonder if anyone has some tips and also a make and model of fascia trim that gives a good snug fit. I'm leaning to putting in a double din alpine. But would consider a single din, if that fascia adapter works better. I guess I'm equally concerned about the dash looking neat as I am about the sound. Also will I need to change the speakers. As a final thought, if I just change the speakers will that make the sound much better?? Thanks lots. Mark
  8. with black cloth unfortunately!!! Just done insurance with admiral - who where actually cheaper with 0 years no claims than Liverpool Victoria with 9 years no claims!! (it's a second car) Yep hoping for dry weather tomorrow as I understand they can be fun in the wet!!
  9. Yes tomorrow is D day - or z day I guess. Picking up a one owner 2005 350z, grey with black (none gt) Hoping for some fun and reliability. To be continued....
  10. What I meant that the revs didn't drop sharply after the gearchange, so the clutch felt a bit soft.
  11. Can someone give an indication of the cost of a clutch When I drove it if I put it in say 5 and floored it, there was no slip, but a fast change up from 2nd to 3rd was a bit too smooth (ie revs didn't drop straight away during the change) - so I think it's getting towards replacement time. I'd guess anyway at 79k it's done pretty well The engine oil pressure was about 40 on idle and about 100 during higher revs - does this seem around right? Thanks guys.
  12. Wow, quick replys!! The car is from a friend of a friend, so it is not publically up for sale. It is hip clear and I've no doubt about it from a bodywork / or crash history point of view. It was more the mechanics and ongoing costs that worry me. The clutch price sounds ominous!!!
  13. Hello all, I have found a 350z (none gt) which I am close to buying, but would really appreciate some thoughts. The car is a 2005 model. The good points are. One owner from new Uk car No body damage New tyres No so good Not full dealer history (but full history) 79000 miles Clutch feels ok, but probably not up for heavy use Cloth interior Possible bit of blowing from the exhaust Cost wise is around 5k Spec is grey with black cloth I'm wondering whether this seems a fair deal, and what likely first year costs I might come across? My main worry is the cost of a clutch and other service items that are likely due at this mileage? Also can anyone recommend a good 350z specialist around the Merseyview area? Many thanks for any help
  14. Hello, my first post. I am looking at a 2005 350z I would appreciate advice on what to check for pre purchase. The car has done 73000 miles. Is a cambelt due??? Etc??? Many thanks mark.
