  1. Yeah, that might attract the wrong sort of attention...
  2. Lol sounds good sparky, will you get that with a snazzy red detail or just matt black?
  3. Hi guys, I have owned my Zed for a little over a week and already the need to modify is taking me over! However, the first mod I want to do isn't an outrageous bodykit or Nismo exhaust, as I'm really keen to have the seats re-upholstered in leather. I've found a couple of places that will do this, ranging from £350n (seat surgeon in yorkshire) to £850 (some posh fella in Southampton who also installs heating elements, forgotten the name). If anyone is interested in having their cloth seats re-upholstered, let me know and maybe we can negotiate a group discount. Cheers, Jimmy
  4. Thanks ds, I already do! had it for a week but been waiting for some decent weather to give her a good polishing but seeing as it's been relentlessly gloomy and crap I thought I might as well stick some pre-polishing pictures up!
  5. Amazing, I wish I had the patience for that!
  6. Photobucket it is then! Thanks Bronzee
  7. I know there are several stickies on the subject, but does anyone know of a way to upload photos without a photobucket account? Got a couple of (fairly crap!) photos to put up of the new Zed!
  8. Definitely feeling the mod bug, been on the phone to Abbey Motorsport already and investigating places that can 'leather up' the interior! Loving the car so far, although treating it with the respect that 300hp through the rear wheels deserves in this shitty wet weather lol.
  9. Hi guys, You may recall me plaguing you for information over the last couple of weeks, so you'll be please to hear that it paid off and I finally found the beauty I was looking for! It is, 2004 UK spec, 28,000 miles (with main dealer history to back it up!), gunmetal grey, rays alloys, birdview satnav (urgh...), cloth interior and some kind of aftermarket exhaust that sounds great and looks beautiful but I have not idea what the make is! No marks inside or out, looks more like a 7 month old car than 7 years so I'm absolutely chuffed. Also, someone has fitted a K & N box to it, leave it in or rip it out? Pics to follow just as soon as there's a day nice enough to warrant giving it a polish! Thanks again for all your help, knowing what to look for really helped me make an informed decision. Jimmy
  10. Hello again, I've decided to leave the JDM that I saw on Saturday, the dealer was a Grade A c*ck and was baulking at fixing the oil pressure issue (basically suggesting I should buy it anyway!) I am looking at another one tomorrow, this time it's a 2004 UK model with 29,000 miles, up for £7995. Full nissan history and a 12 month warranty. Seems pretty good so I'm hoping this could be the one...
  11. rmg - out of of interest how much did you pay for yours?
  12. Right, I've just come back from the viewing and the news is (mainly) good! The car drives amazingly well and is in immaculate condition. It also has a full scorpion (I think) exhaust system on it which sounds beautiful and will keep me entertained until I purchase a band expander for the radio! However we did notice a couple of issues. The bolt which tuns through the steering rack was seeping steering fluid and the oil pressure gauge was reading off the chart even at idle! I suspect the latter was a sensor fault rather than the actual oil pressure as there was no sign of any oil leakage whatsoever. Based on this, I have told them I will give them 6.5k for the car subject to these things being repaired to my satisfaction. If anyone has any experience with either of these issues I'd love to hear your opinion! Thanks again to everyone for your help and for the welcome, the info I've got on here the last few days has really helped.
  13. Vik - my thoughts exactly regarding the price. I'll probably go in at 6k with an absolute limit of 6.5 and see how it goes. Thanks so much for all your assistance everyone, fingers crossed I can hammer them down and I'll be taking the Zed out for its inaugural drive tomorrow afternoon!
  14. Wes - valid point and if I had 10k I'd definitely be looking at UK cars! My budget is unfortunately only about 7K and for that money the only UK cars are 80,000+ miles. Also, I noticed a lot of guys mentioning Nurrish Sat Navs, is he still active on the site and producing these? It's something I'd be keen to replace if I do get the JDM Zed tomorrow...
  15. Hi, sorry for the delay in replying, my first 5 posts need to be submitted for moderation before they are posted! Thanks to all for the welcome, I will keep you posted about how it goes tomorrow and hopefully follow with some pics
  16. Hi Marzman, Doogy! BTW Doogy, your avatar scares the crap out of me!
  17. Hello Keyser, ZMANALEX That's reassuring, I'm taking a tame mechanic with me tomorrow to give it a thorough going over so hopefully he will pick up on any potential money pits lurking a few months down the line. In your experience, are there any areas I should be asking him to pay particular attention to? Assuming the mileage is genuine, I thought £6.5K would be about the money for the car...
  18. Hi Jay, Vik, thanks for the welcome! You car looks gorgeous Jay but it's about a grand out of my budget unfortunately, plus I was planning to start from scratch and do a few tasteful mods of my own. Your car is pretty much the finished article as far as I can tell, I really like the carbon fibre detail to the interior I may have to nick that idea when I've got my very own Z... Vik - yeah the dealer has a few receipts the the UK owner supplied for the occasional part replacement and oil etc but no actual service history from a garage. The car was imported in 2008 with 45,000km on the clock which seems believable but they reckon the UK owner has only done 7,000 miles in 3 years which seems a bit fishy! They have an HPI certificate so is there anything you would advise me to look out for to ensure the car is genuine? Thanks again!
  19. Hello everyone, this is my first post on the forum, I'm hoping to be a Z owner very soon so may be the first of many! I have read all the JDM stickies and FAQs (very useful and informative) and I was hoping to get a few opinions on a car I'm considering buying tomorrow... It is: a 2003 JDM 350z with a claimed 35,000 miles. Looks in immaculate condition but the only UK documentation it has is 3 UK MOT certificates, apparently due to the fact that it has only covered 10K miles in the Uk and the owner has serviced is himself. The dealer is asking £6995, should I stay well away or maybe go in with a lower offer? Any help would be much appreciated, Oliver - sorry for hijacking your thread, didn't think my question warranted a whole bew topic! Thanks, Jimmy.
