  1. I bought and collected these wheels from him last year
  2. Im selling my alloys which came with the car when i bought it. They are the standard alloys with bridgestone potenza re040 tyres all round. Tyre sizes, Front - 225/45/18r approx 3-4mm tread Rear - 245/45/18r approx 3mm tread There is no kerb damage to any of the wheels although there are a couple of stone chips as seen in the pictures. There is also some patches of flaking on the insides of the wheels. Im looking for £200 if you collect or £232 delivered (via paisley freight) any questions please ask They could do with a clean inside the wheels This is the worst of the stone chips
  3. Is it possible to change the colour of all the dashboard lights from orange? Im sure I've seen a video on YouTube of 350z with blue dash lights but can't find it now And have tried the search on here but still can't find anything
  4. I'm 23, Been driving since I was 17 and got 5 years no claims. Never made a claim or any offences. According to admiral who I'm also with I live it a very safe area and yet my renewal, which is due on the 26th this month, is 770!!! And I can't find any cheaper on comparison sites. I going to have to make a phone call...
  5. What about if there was a section on each thread for people to vote on how helpful it is, then when people search for a certain word or phrase the results are arranged in order of relevance and helpfulness. Obviously that would not solve the issue immediately as it would take time for the votes to pile up onto the helpful threads but it would certainly help people find what they are looking for easier once some threads have gained a few votes. I'm not sure how easy this would be to do and I'm sure everyone appreciates that the admins and mods do this in thier spare time but I just thought it would improve the search function a lot if it were possible. As already mentioned you can't make people use the search function but for those people who are willing to try it may use it more if it helps them the first time they use it and Word should catch on too I once done a post and one of my replies was to use the search function and although I didn't say anything at the time, as I didn't want I to turn into a discussion, I did use the search function first and couldn't find what I was looking for in the first 5 pages and so asked the question instead. What I'm basically getting at is I'm sure the problem wouldn't be so bad if the search function was a bit more helpful
  6. I'm all sorted now. 1 hour labour at £52 inc Vat which seems much more reasonable. I didn't think it's a hard job and although I do a lot of the work on my cars myself I've never really touched the gearbox or diff so thought I'd better get it done professionally. I'll probably ask if I can watch though so I no how to do it myself next time.
  7. Does anyone know of any good/cheap places in the Northamptonshire area for a gearbox & diff oil change? I've just been quoted £80 +vat by a friend of a friend which seemed quite a lot to me I've already bought the fluids from Alex so it's just the service I need.
  8. To be honest even if the flywheel has some life left in it u should get the flywheel changed at the same time otherwise u will will have to pay the labour a second time once the flywheel goes too, which isn't cheap It works out cheaper to have them both done at the same time
  9. I saw a gearbox on eBay not too long ago. It was 400 quid and had done about 20k, no idea what year it came from or if it's any good for that matter, but maybe worth a look. Otherwise u could see if any other zeds have had an accident recently and maybe make them an offer on the gearbox.
  10. Just thought i'd say thanks to rtbiscuit for recomending wicked wheels... They have just finished sorting my wheel and it looks as good as new and the colour match is PERFECT! Thanks again
  11. Thanks I'll give them a call tomorrow
  12. Does anyone know any good/relatively cheap places in Northamptonshire who repair scraped wheels? They are rota GTRs in gunmetal and it's just one of the rears.
  13. I've recently been getting a squeaky clutch pedal, usually when it's cold and wet outside. Iv put a bit of wd40 on it which helped a bit but didn't put much effort into it as I was running late for work. I also feel a couple of drops of water drip on my right leg just above my ankle which is making me think the leak is causing the squeak (hey that rhymes ) The problem is I can't find where the leak is coming from. It can't be too bad as its only a couple of drops as I pull off when the car has been stationary all night but ok during the rest of the day, even when it's chucking it down with rain. Has anyone else had this happen with theirs?
  14. Just thought I would mention what differences I have found since swapping to super unleaded for anyone who has not yet tried it. I ran my tank down to 5 litres of normal unleaded then brimmed it with tesco momentum. At first the engine seemed VERY jerky and the transmission noises became louder! So I done an ecu reset the next morning and now the engine runs smoother than ever and I'm getting hardly any transmission noise at all The average mpg seems to have gone up slightly too. I haven't noticed any increase in performance but the car just seems soooo much happier with super. I'll have to try v power next so see if there's any further improvement...
  15. I suppose that's one way of thinking about it to make me feel better The cars done about 57k and it's still quite smooth on pull off, even on quick pull offs. I'm starting to get used to fact that the car make many weird and wonderful noises, I'll just have to get into the habit of pushing the clutch down to keep my mind at ease.
  16. That's good to hear that's it's not just me. I done a search but couldn't find anyone mentioning it and thought it might just be mine. I was probably exaggerating when I said sounds like it's on it's last leg. It's more of a cutting out sound which just did not sound normal to me compared to every other car I've driven. I just hope it's not a problem as I've just spent 1500 on the car and now I'm skint
  17. I've been pulling my hair out the past couple of months because when I turn the ignition off in my Z the engines makes a really horrible sound as if it's on it's last leg and about to die. I have always thought it had something to do with my k&n typhoon as I only started to notice it around the time I fitted it and have tried many things to stop it happening. Then tonight while waiting in the car to pick my sister up from work It occurred to me that if you have to press the clutch when starting the engine maybe I should try it when turning it off... Success Is it just me being stupid for not doing that in the first place or could there be a problem with the car somewhere as this is the first car I have owned where u have to press the clutch when starting up and it just never occurred to me?
  18. Macs are probably the best by far but as already mentioned, damned expensive (worth the money tho) I use one at home If u could find a good spec one with your budget I'd try to get a Sony vaio but don't be fooled by the cheaper models just because of the name. They don't perform half as well as the better models. I recently bought my MD a HP laptop (I think the model was a G6??) after he broke his vaio. It was 729.99 with an intel core i5 processor, 4g ram, 560 hard drive (I think), updated graphics card of some description, windows 7 pro. Anyway, he's had it for 9-10 weeks now and LOVES it. Well worth a look at. Sorry I can't be more specific about the details but I haven't seen it since I ordered it and can't remember too much about it. I just hear about how great it is ever other day
  19. If u use 'we buy any car' use somebody else's phone number otherwise u keep getting annoying text messages from them, which i learnt the hard way
  20. Toyota supra twin turbo Money no object it would be a pagani zonda cinque
  21. I got mine with my Z Took me a few seconds to realise it was my log book
  22. I think it's a bit of a **** take. They copied EVERYTHING from our top gear, even the stig! I do like the fact it's a bit more about supercars tho and a lot less messing around
