  1. Find a long sweeping bend and drive it at 40ish with the radio off, see if the noise increases sweeping right and drive back along it sweeping left. If the noise in any way changes i'd just change the bearings for all the effort thats involved

  2. Nice to see it back on here mate.

Would love to pick ur brain about them some time. When u back in mini seeing Rab lol?

Definitely mate not a problem, can't wait to have it out and about again. The bmw will be up for sale soon so i'll no doubt have another trip or two back in to pick up some parts before it goes lol. Last time I saw you, you were in youth work I think, thought it had to be someone else when he mentioned you

  3. So turns out the brake dust is stronger than left over wheatabix that's gone dry after breakfast, nothing was for shifting it. Ultrabrite did sweet fa, went to up it a level and Mr Muscle did a tiny bit, a bottle of Coke did the best out of everything but still a load remained so i'll just have to feel bad leaving it down for a refurb as they are

Started collecting bits and pieces to get it serviced up to date and running nicely, still some gearbag oil, diff oil and brake fluid to get and then the bumper off to paint

  4. Anyone any idea where I might find a replacement fixing point for my bonnet damper? I guess through time the little ball has rusted through and come off my NRG damper

The one attached to the wing here

  5. I must have missed the previous thread but you know while it might be an 08 reg car when he says its 09 its got the spec of an 06/07?

If they are selling around that price like you say then cool but I can help thinking you'll take a massive hit on it in a couple of years

But while you're there, clicky axels, any rust, at that price you'd want as new decent tyre brands, discs and pads all good, usual service history, Ive seen some getting close to needing a clutch around the 40k mark

Does look clean to be fair

  6. Well i'm back in my old z after a 3 year break, saw it up for sale again and even though I wasn't in the market it was one car I really missed and I was on the plane to go and see it within the week.

Unfortunately it wasn't as clean as it was when I had it but it had done very little miles since I had it, still had all my mods and wasn't anything a bit of tlc and time wouldn't fix.

My old thread must have been archived or deleted so a new one it is

So here is my '06 chilli with 44k on it, XYZ coilovers, 7 series wheels, Nismo s tune system, carbon bonnet struts, custom mats front and boot

How it used to be with me:

Some of the things need sorted are: crack and chips in the v2 bumper that was fitted, scuff on the rear bumper, boot struts need replaced, carbon bonnet struts need replaced, usual scratches in the door switch trim fixed, all the wheels are scuffed and one has brake dust so caked on the hardest stuff I own didn't even touch it, then a full service of all the fluids, plugs, filters, brakes and pads. Then it'll be back on track :)

Need input though about the front bumper that was fitted, keep the canards or not? And where to mount the plate, the old v1 had a holder fitted which I thought gave a nice position. The plates I've seen on the v2 don't seem to look right in the grill recess. I'd almost prefer it above (below the front badge) but go with a slightly smaller height plate

Previous owner didn't even know it had a nismo it was so dirty, got round to that this morning with a good scrub and some acid wheel cleaner. Just needs a good polish now

Any ideas what to use on the caked on brake dust though? It's the worst I've ever seen

  7. Looks like it's been long enough that my previous threads and posts have most likely been archived.

After selling my chilli red nismo v1 kitted z 3 years ago I instantly regretted it, always told the guy I sold it to that he should message me if it ever went up for sale again.

It was an '06 with factory fitted nismo kit, nismo exhaust, 7 series wheels, xyz coilovers and a few other nice bits and pieces. I sold it with 27k on the clocks on new years eve 2012 and a friend recently contacted me asking if it was my car in autotrader, turns out the guy I sold it to sold it to a chap in scotland. Sure enough it was my car, definitely didnt need a 3rd car but it needed to be bought back. A quick flight over and I was a little disappointed to see it just hadn't been taken car of the same way it was with me, now had a v2 nismo bumper with canards but was cracked in several places, a few scratches externally and internally and the wheels had a hard life.

Nothing that can't be fixed with some TLC, but still only on 44k it's nice to have it back and has plenty of life left in it... plus all my mods are still on it especially the nismo exhaust, god I missed that noise!

It's holding up in my driveway until the summer when I can have the other 2 projects sold and i'll have it sitting good as new in no time

Here are a few pics of it in its prime, ill have to start another members thread at some stage:

  9. Cheers guys, slowly getting there. Probably a 2 digit N.Ireland plate to finish off the exterior and then the usual light engine mods, sports cats to go with the nismo etc

    Love the concave!

  10. Havn't update this in a good while but a few things have gone on

Bought the Nismo system off Chris when he was putting his back to standard, it is by far the best exhaust sound I have ever heard so I had to have that off him. Nice polished backbox on it too so looks well from behind ooooh err

Took the rear wiper off just to clean up the lines a little bit, barely used the wiper anyway so notice zero difference without it

Wheels are in after rolling the arches and trying to find the right size of tyre to fit under there.

    01a9d0a4.jpg

Perfect fit now and thanks to Simon for sorting out the rear tyres for me, top bloke

I'll get a good pic of the wheels over the next couple of days or at showerks. They look awesome now the tyres are sorted and I lowered the rear a little bit, hope they go down well. Just coming up with ideas for wheel centre caps at the minute, could go boring and put a nissan or z badge in but i'll see if I come up with something a little more fun

Adapters arrived the other day and tried the new wheels on, i'll need to change the tyres for something with a lower width and profile that what is on them. Hoping Morgan tyres will do some sort of p/x for me with the ones that are on them
