Here are mine....
As a young lad after seeing it in the BTCC i was obsessed with these:
I even wrote to Volvo enquiring about jobs as a designer.... Aged 12
Also liked these:
And always thought these were one of the most beautiful cars ever <3
Not really with you on the Volvo, and to be honest I used to own a 1968 144S, so nothing against the brand, but the police put me off, as every time I saw one of those the blue lights were flashing - nuff said!
Totally with you on the Fiat, I remember when they first came out and thinking this is back to the bold Pininfarina styling of the 60's & 70's
Don’t get me started on the DS! I would love a Black one of these. Fell in love with them when I first saw “Mr Jolly Lives Next Door†and the car that Peter Richardson drove was fantastic
Great taste Sir!

Weirdly I am sure that Mercedes have a big switch in the cockpit which is for Towing which disables the alarm.
I dunno cars these days are too patronising

It an odd one you would have thought there would be a way to disable the alarm an just leave an immobilizer and a locked car!!

Hi Chris
I have had a word with the Workshop foreman here, still a bit inconclusive, but I have some info.
Firstly we haven’t had any issues with customers complaining about crossings on ferry with the alarms going off
However there is a couple of things you could try.
The key in the driver’s door, rather than the plip, but we could figure about how you would test this theory
You can disable the sensors in the car, there is a procedure in the handbook that covers this. In fairness we think it’s more for dogs as the sensors wouldn’t cover vibration which presumably is the problem with a ferry crossing.
Lastly and the most lateral of the thoughts, would be to remove the shunt fuse a-la how the car comes on a transporter from the factory, BUT, again don’t know how to test the idea and it will upset any settings you have done and you may lose the radio code!
Sorry there is nothing definite
Good luck

Subject to chassis confirmation
We could do them (6x) for £75 incl VAT but even so

yep, will 'let this one go' I think! No point paying loads for a pain in the butt one!
If it makes you feel any better this is a dumpr from the Black Cap Book valuation of that car.
IMO what you see there needs to be at 50% valuation as a pre bent car

Get it as original as possible for a sale especially if it’s a part ex.
The more questions a dealer is asked or presented with, the less confidence they have, and then the car gets cheaper. Another rather unpleasant fact of life I’m afraid
-
For what it’s worth, I don’t really think this car is worth the money as a CAT C
There are nicer cars that are "straight" on this forum, for not much more.
If you wanted a cheap car to convert to a track car then fair enough but as a road car, taking in to consideration the issues with insurance and greater difficulty in selling the car in years to come, I think the overall economics would point towards a better loved car.
Let’s not forget you have to do some pretty serious damage to a car of this age an mileage to end up with a CAT C
As a dealer, like it or not, if we were presented with taking this car in Part Ex, the value would be halved.

Read somewhere that there is a fuel price war between supermarkets atm.
Why not, we are fighting two in the middle east already, but the prices arent coming down

Thanks Mr Rev.
I have had a look at that, but some of the functionality isn’t on my phone as described on the phone on the blog i.e. the my hotspots.
Have you got the latest software on your devices. I think you will need 4.3 on the iphone as a minimum
Yes all that but I only run a 3GS dunno if that would make difference

Yes annoyingly there is a bloke at work here who has an HTC. he has an app on the phone called "Wi fi hot spot" and he can use this to turn his phone into a Wifi hub, which his iPad can pick up and can receive a signal to run the internet etc.
I have looked in the App's Store and all the iPhone apps do is tell you where there is free wifi.
Hope this makes sense, the technology should be there but I don’t understand how his POS can operate this function and a iPhone cant??
