I got a nice surprise today exiting a roundabout sideways! TCS is deffinately on but I can spin the rears up very easily in the wet and either the tcs doesnt activate at all or takes a second or two to realise the wheels are spinning. Not a terrible problem itself for me but im wary of the missus driving in the wet with the tcs ineffective. What should i do to get it working properly?

Should really hope they wouldnt charge, spacers are hardly a big risk, just make the track a bit wider.
What made me laugh years ago is I had an 850cc mini with 20bhp and i fitted a roll cage. It weighed loads and made the car even slower and yet the insurance company jacked my premium up so much i could hardly afford to insure it!
I think what it is they dont like people messing around with the structural integrity of the car.
Control arms for example, have been designed by engineers to have a factor of safety that is calculated to withstand the working stress to avoid failure. By adding spacers these calculations are only worth the paper there written on. And because no one has done the calculations to prove the suspention componants can take the stress of increased track width, there comes your insurance risk.

Just cut the front half of the standard airbox off and stick a decent panel filter in. Sounds amazing.

In the 6 months i've owned my zed i've had nothing but good comments from friends and family.
Being 20 and looking just about old enough to drive though does
draw ALOT of negative attention. I've been called allsorts from daddys boy to snob. Plus i dont exactly live in a rich area so cars like the zed are very rare. I work my tits off for it though so i dont care, infact pulling into college in a 300 horsepower car when most people have a 1.2 hatchback is the best feeling ever.
Good for you pal. Alot of cash for someone your age to run, but if that's what makes you happy, go for it. To hell with what the little green monsters say.
Cheers mate, like i said i'm not really bothered if people presume im some sort of a rich kid. I know i work hard so it goes right over my head.

I only got my car last week from an offical dealer. And i was getting a strange grinding/wurring noise when my clutch was engaged in neutral and as i pulled away. I took it back to the dealer and they said it was the clutch release bearing so its booked in for next week to have the gearbox out and have the bearing changed.
I have just got a 313 from a dealer as well and mine whines abit. If I give the engine a rev when the car is stood still the whine changes with the engine speed. Does that sound the same thing?
No because the release bearing is doing nothing untill you press the clutch pedel.
If you get a noise whilst its its in neautral and when its in gear that increases pitch with the engine revs you can pretty much gaurentee its the input shaft bearings in the gearbox. I know this because mine makes the same noise and has for as long as ive owned it.

By the looks of it you've modified the car anyway so FSH isn't going to matter when it comes to resale value.

How much should i expect to pay for installation of lowering springs?
And is it wise to get the wheel alignment checked after?
I'm a pretty competant and could proberly do it myself but i just dont have the time. i would rather pay someone who knows what there doing to have the hassle lol.

How do these compare with the K2 system? To be honest i much prefer the oem look of the k2

Cool stick up a video when there on!

Oh right, ive just tried to look for examples on youtube but all i find is aftermarket systems..
Does anyone have a video with just the standard system and decat?
What would you reccomend silenced or unsilenced?
if its everyday road use then defo silenced as the rasp will probably annoy you.
Are you going to track the car? You do know that you will have issues getting an mot?
Its for road use. Yeah i'm aware it will effect the emissions For the mot, i pkan on just sticking the cats back on for the mot thanks

hi I'm running a 54 plate with the vq35de engine with stock exhaust system.
I've been looking at the japspeed decats..

http://www.japspeed.co.uk/Nissan-350Z/N ... -19-1-262/
I've been looking at decats and to be honest I'm a bit confused!
What's the difference between resonated and unresonated? Is there a difference in performance?
Thanks!

My zeds just hit 88000 miles so it's due P2 service I think?
Just visited my local Nissan dealer who said it would cost £350 but he wasn't 100% sure! Seems pretty steep?
-
You will probably laugh because I cut my standard airbox in half....
Cost me nothing, took me ten minutes, doesn't suffer heat soak and sounds like my car could suck up small children when i mash the throttle into the carpet.

I pull off in 6th is this okay?
epic
thats mad
On my 3rd clutch so far this year.
But in all seriousness my car seems to cruise fine at 30 in 6th, aslong as its flat and im not planning on doing any acceleration for a while.

to the forum. A stones throw from you
You wern't at trentham gardens the other sunday by any chance?
Thanks for the warm welcome
The car is still whining, think i'm going to take it to the local Nissan for them to have a look. Mechanically it drives fine just sounds supercharged haha. It completely goes with the clutch pressed in so it my possibly be the input shaft bearings, but my moneys on thrust bearing.
Also I want the wheels refurbished and powder coated a reddish bronze colour. Someone said to me dont poweder coat them or the wheels will crack? Can anyone confirm this? I've had wheels power coated before so i'm skeptical.
cheers, Tom
