  2. TBH I dont see the point in shelling out so much money to save £210 a year? Unless you just want a change?

A 135i second hand is priced between £14k-£20k depending on year and spec. I fancy a change simply because I can't enjoy the zed for what it was bought for any more (such as car shows/events etc). Also, I could do with an extra 2 seats now. I can't really think of any other cars at this price range, with this level of performance which can seat 4 people.

  3. I said on another thread that I will Get rid of my zed if the road tax gets any closer to £500 in the next year. I have a new job that most of my time is devoted to (against my free will) and I can't attend the car shows it deserves to be at.

I want a fast, fun car to replace it with but one that can take more than one passenger. I know the 135i isn't particularly fuel efficient but neither is the zed so I'm used to that. The big thing is for a 3.0L twin turbo car the road tax is excellent at tax band J (£250) so will save me £210 a year straight away. Also, it's probably one of the better looking BMW's out there at the moment.

Does anyone have any comments or opinions on this car? Anyone owned or driven one or know someone with one? I've been told with a tweak here and there it can compete with M3 levels of acceleration, but not sure if this is true and what cost it would need investing to do so.

    Thanks.

  4. It's going to keep on going up. Anyone who thinks otherwise is a fool as it's a cracking little money earner and if they did dump the lot onto fuel then they'd instantly become the least popular government ever.

I expect to be paying over £500 for the tax on the 911 next year, easy.

Agreed. I've already said if the price for my road tax on my HR 350z which already sits at £460, I'll be selling it soon later to be replaced by a BMW 135i, good value for a 3.0l, twin turbo car with over 300bhp all for £250 a year tax. Would be stupid not to really, I love my car, but after having my day off this year cancelled 6 days before Japfest, I doubt I will be attending any more shows in the near future.

  5. Love Ali G, Live Ali G in Da House, hated Borat and Bruno. Sacha Baren Cohen is a great actor but some things aren't so go. Like him in Talledega Nights playing a gay French racing driver though, that was funny.

  6. But doesnt super give increased MPG right across the rev range, so the extra cost of super would still be offset by the increased mpg, whatever the journey type?

Around here super is only 3 pence more expensive than normal (137.9 plays 140.9) which is 2.17% extra, so if you get 25mpg on normal, it would only have to go up to 25.5mpg on super for it to justify the price difference  (plus the added benefits of extra torque, obviously)

Super around my area ranges in +3p through to +12p a litre depending on the day. +3p isn't an issue (I'll pay up to +7p) but after that I just can't see the point.

  7. The guy with the sunset was on this forum I think. Some people were pretty critical of his car and I haven't seem him since. That picture was from Japfest I think, I remember seeing it there last year.
