  1. Pile of crap! It's gone to a gone-wrong Windows phone! lol

They've totally destroyed the accessibility perspective to the point I'm now struggling to use it (too much white background), it's already been found to have 2 major security flaws, lots of people having trouble with itunes syncing (me included), inconsistent use of shapes (circles and squares though Apple used to always confirm to a single design approach). I won't even go into the battery killing facilities - half way through day and it's already down to 57% and I've done sod all! I've now got to permanently carry my spare batter in my laptop bag :(

That said, I do like the swipe up for quick access to bits & bobs and the swipe action for delete, etc. is stronger now.

However I'm going to try and continue with open eyes and hopefully will be persuaded but for now the Ipads are staying with 6!

  2. Ahh I didn't realise that. Why the wait for the ink to cure or does it take that long to order?

My bad that should have read 1-2 weeks..... I have done it in less time 48 hours but @*!# myself as the vinyl felt quite soft still.

In a nutshell the ink does need to cure but that's not too bad -2 -3 hours or so should be touch dry pretty damn perfect, overnight and it's def a good un. However it's more the "out-gassing" of the printed vinyl - this is the evaporation of the chemicals from the vinyl and ink.

Time wise out-gassing in fairness does actually depend on how the printing company does it and the ink coverage (and colours used). Some leave a relaxed roll (not good), some lay them out, but it's better to have them raised or even better to have a gassing chamber (still never seen one!). The later is obviously the quicker option working backwards to rolled taking ages (if out gassing altogether).

  3. Unfortunately printable cast vinyl (with inks) isn't the cheapest - in fact it competes with the likes of chrome vinyl in terms of cost :(

However a good sign writer using a HP printer should be able to sort you out and probably won't be as interested in fitting as wrappers. There are a few companies down here that could probably do it - I'll get numbers and post up.

Other option is that Hexis UK could do it - they offer that service. Remember that after printing it'll be a good 3-4 weeks before you can actually fit it ;)

  4. Yep Sam is awesome.

I've got a load to go to him shortly!

If we've got so many welsh lads in this post why are we not meeting! lol I reckon we should organise a meet at Sams! lol

    I'm in Bridgend

  5. Hi RT

Thinking of a carbon skin roof to mount on the top of the 350Z - thought this would follow the carbon bonnet (which I get it) and my carbon V2 spoiler. Just wondering if this was something you could do, would be interested in doing and whether there would be enough interest to put it into production?

  6. Well over the weekend I decided with the good weather to attack the car and get some things done!

FIrst job was fixing the cracked front bumper I did the Thursday before :( that took most of the weekend with removing dead/old fibre glass, cleaning it all up and re-fibre glass then fill. However all looks great! And that's about where the good luck ended....

Went to fit my DLR lights which I sorted out all the wiring and found...........they don't fit!! I've got a 2006 car so bought the face-lift reflector/DLRs and of course I have the V1 Nismo bumper so..... yep you guessed it - I need the old V1 versions :( At least CS2000 has another order anyway :)

So next job - finally remove the fried egg effect on the indicators front and back. After fighting with the front head lamps - seriously the face lift lights are a nightmare to change indicators on :( Finally got the indicator out only to find yet again a problem!

I had ordered 2 sets of SilverVision bulbs specifically for the 350z from Care4car.com a while ago - and they kindly sent 2 lots of PY21W - but I needed WY21W so yet another waste :(

So down £28 for bulbs and £45 for the DLRs and I'm still sulking :(
