  1. No worries mate.

And ilogikal1- most of the products' claims are BS I think

You probably saw some of the mega wax tests on DW and many of them last weeks, not months.

    But, if you're a deet-geek then that's ok as you'll be detailing frequently ;)

  2. Thanks for the info ilogikal1. I'm really just getting in to real detailing products despite my first real job at 16 as a car valet. Always looked after my cars ~ two bucket method for washes, full waxes etc every week, ...but only now since reading some of the car detailing threads on here has my garage detailing supplies increased but I'm still really finding out what works best for me. I use "Turtle Wax Ice synthetic wax" which tbh is the best I've ever used so I'd want to use C2 in conjunction with that probably if I did use it.

There is loads of product that now doesn't leave my collection that you need in your life mate.

Some key highlights being Finishkare 1000p - so easy to use, good looks, lasts ages and can be used in paint, wheels etc

Their QD fk425 is also my standard use product.

Zaino Z8 is amazing too. Kinda like c2v3 but way glossier

  3. So I have c2v3 and find its longevity to be average at best, despite IPA wipedowns, paint cleanser wipe downs etc.

I kinda figured that, being so cheap, it was essentially an alternative to a QD with enhanced protection, akin to dodo red mist etc, rather than a hardcore protection option.

If you prepped the zed, applied exo or crystal lacquer etc, I'd expect super longevity. I'd then use c2v3 to top it up after maintenance washing

  4. Right, so I applied Autobrite hellshine ghost rider yesterday and am very impressed.

Applied after cleaning the glass with pain.

Two layers, after ten minutes it hazed up a treat.

Was worried as if this was rain x or g1 it would be a beast to remove. Looked thick Tbh.

Anyway, with trepidation I began buffing it off... And found buffing wasn't necessary! In fact, took 2 mins to remove if that.

Water won't stick to the glass at all and is tightly beading. 25mph is enough to start clearing it off too. Will try to take pics but very impressed. Longevity needs testing but, Tbh, if it lasts weeks rather than months I don't care. So easy to use and repels water amazingly

  5. Haven't used that yet as it suggested it maintained SiO2 coatings, which mine isn't wearing....

    Taken from the Gyeon blurb for Cure;

Each application of GYEON Q2M CURE has a surprisingly long lifespan of up two months, meaning it can also be used to add temporary protection to unsealed finishes.

Which seems to suggest that it can be used as a stand alone product. However, I've not used it yet either, and probably wont do until after winter at the earliest but I might do a test/comparison against some other sealants in the spring. Or I might just add it to the collection and forget all about it.

Ironically I have artdeshine nano to apply but want to correct her fully before applying glass coatings. Weather may not support it til next year now.

  6. Have to say I didn't repeat buy, as good as the products are inside, I am just not going to be using them as much over winter and would end up stock piling. Car is currently sitting snugly under a car cover outside!

Stock piling is the way to go.

Much to the annoyance of the mrs that says theyre a waste of money and are taking up too much space :(

I trust you have now reeducated her?

  8. My list would be :

    1) Car bodywork shampoo - duragloss 901

    2) Polish - by hand I'd recommend Autobrite Hellshine Eliminator which is brilliant

    3) Paintwork sealer - I'd always recommend Zaino z5.

    4) Wax - would not use with zaino as unnecessary but on its own either dodo juice supernatural hybrid or britemax vantage if you want pure wax

    5) Wheel cleaner (really mild) - sonax extreme total effect. You will never find a better or safer wheel cleaner

    6) Tyre dressing - Meg's endurance gel if shiny, dodo tyromania if matte

    7) Leather cleaner/conditioner - zaino leather cleaner and feed

    8) Car mat shampoo - recommend autosmart bio brisk foam cleaner

    9) Glass cleaner - autobrite hellshine pain

    10) Engine bay dresser - autobrite Jaffa which is combined cleaner and dressing

    11) Paintwork tar/ contaminant remover - autosmart tardis
