  1. If your prep is 100% e.g. Perfectly machined, then a wax adds protection first and look second.

My preference is synthetic, for additional gloss with some of the newer kit is noticeable - on detailing world there are tests with a gloss meter which 'proves' an lsp can add something extra to the look.

I'd recommend supernatural hybrid or fk1000p for their blend of protection and look

  2. Yup, for a quick wash, 4 hours is fine.

I've done 48 hours before, split over three days - but that was full correction on my Racing Puma.

The zed hasn't had the benefit yet :S

  3. Used to use it all the time a few years ago when you'd layer ex-p a few times, then top with a Wax. Usually poor boys blue or red. Not bad but compared to more modern stuff it isn't up to par and more effort

  4. My 2 cents:

There's no magic wheel protection that lets brake dust slip off. Or, prevent wheels from getting as dirty as an 'un-protected' wheel.

Im a big fan of synthetic sealants, they are easy to buff off and create a thick, properly hard, protective coating.

Unlike carnauba wax, they bond with surfaces and, like wax, are hydrophobic. This combo allows them to be used on glass, headlights, plastic trim, paint and wheels.

I use chemical guys Jet Seal 109, cover the entire exterior with it and the car is protected from the worst nature has to offer. It lasts a long time - provided that gentle maintenance shampoos are used. With that, keep layering on the sealant and the gloss gets better and better.

    All the best,

    Dan

Try fk1000p.... Massive tin, easier to use than jet seal and similar product tbh

  5. Bilberry , if diluted properly, should be fine mate. Is an alkaline apc essentially

Good to know. They could do with a refurb but no point making them worse, the lip is currently the better part of the wheels.

Yup most people forget to dilute it. I've moved away from traditional wheel cleaners and moved onto iron x type products and shampoo. Best product I've ever used is sonax total effect wheel cleaner but not sure if ok for polished rims

The Sonax is PH neutral and safe on all types of rims, including polished. :)

Buy some of this then - is brilliant!
