  1. My custom made exhaust is for sale. It was made by Longlife Exhausts and was made at level 3 out of 5. 5 being loud. It is rather quiet but when you floor it, You hear some of the v6 but all in a conservative manner. The exhaust goes well with decats too. I paid £450 for it.

    I am looking for £200 + postage

I cleaned it up tonight and its looking sweet.

  2. This is a good read for me. I went to the ring last year and only managed 9.23. It was my first time there and a I had a standard chassis with crap tyres. The trip was more a sightseeing thing than being serious. However after being there I got the bug. I now have HKS coilovers, Eibach anti roll bars. The federal rsr tyres and the brake cooling ducts. Looks like I just need the oil cooler. I did some track time at donington and the difference with the new setup is massive. I cant wait to go back to the ring this year. My aim was for just getting under 9 mins but now I am hoping for much less haha. I am too scrared to turn off the traction control though. Its more to do with avoiding a catastrophe than anything else. I am @*!# hot on go karts so I dont know why I am like that with the zed.

Can I ask where you got the tyres for £540 as I paid £700. I will only ever get these tyres now.

    cheers

  3. I went for silver but the most sparkling silver I could get. It is similar to Mercs so I was told. Anyway day or night they look amazing and when its sunny get your shades on. I dont think Standard wheels should be coloured. The standard wheels are surprisingly dark and rubbish.

  4. Thanks for the info. It is the same exhaust however you need to get it modified to fit around the diff. It is no hassle for an exhuast place to do this. Dont be put off if you live near a Longlife or Powerflow garage. Longlife did mine and they got the exhaust. Cost me £700. I was a little gutted compared to what others paid.

  5. I jacked it on the fins. I think the cover was removed when the exhuast was fitted. I cant remember how it looks with it on.

Thanks for the comments. Although hard to see it is like a flawless mirror in real life. :cloud9: I certaintly have the correct car to buff up as it grabs EVERYONES attention. I love it

  6. Well I have the copy HKS true duel and over the 3 months or so of having it I wasnt happy with the tips. They seem to be losing the colour and I didnt like it anyway so after seeing a guy detail a lambo in a particular way I thought I'd give it a go.

I never thought it would work but using 3M fast cut and a DA buffer seems perfect for stainless steel. I was quite shocked at the mirror finish that was before me. It was quite difficult to photo mind being round and all. Heres the pictures.

The difference is clear. Its not like they wern't shiney already however buffers take things to another level. I love mine :yahoo: .

  7. Well it had taken me a week and a half but it was all worth it. DA's are so bloody slow but they are safe. The car was the worst I have seen. Loads of swirls and the clay bars were minging. They had to be thrown away in the end. The previous owner worked near a steelworks and it showed lol.

I thought I had more photos but I will need to check.

Anyway the gear I use is alot. It takes me about 30 mins to wash the car now as I dont want to creat swirls in the paint

  8. I also made some brake pipes to cool the discs as at the ring after just one lap the brakes were cooking. I used left over materials so I only bought the pipe

So much for leaving the car alone.:lol::lol:

  9. Big changes have been happening lol. After going to the ring I noticed some issues with regards to handling and track driving so I contacted ZMANALEX. He sorted me out with Eiback Anti-roll bars, Ferrodo brake pads, HKS Hipermax RS coilovers and Federal RS-R tyres. I must be mad :scare: . Anyway this has made a world of difference and now the car is like a racecar. I only dropped the car 18mm and the only thing wrong was front tracking. The corner weighing came in fine aswell. 2% out so I was told.

I also managed to get the faclift rear LED lights and after going over them with the DA they are like brand new :yahoo: . And a carbon fibre splitter  Also I got the HKS type true dual fitted. :yahoo:

Here is a vid from the ring. I did 9:23 which I felt was on the limit.

  10. Ok I have finished. My order was messed up and I only got a meter of pipe so I had to make do for the trackday I have coming up. Like I said I changed out the aluminium with steel flat bar. Good call I think because it is much stiffer. I spent a few hours on it but only because my drill bits were blunt. It wasnt that hard to do tbh.

Could do with a lick of paint mind :)

As simple as it seems to just mirror one side to the other it is quite difficult and as a result both sides are different from each other. Using steel pipe instead of aluminium may help there and alu doesnt shape too well before cracking. You get one shot. I also did not weld anything. I made it work at the end of the day so I aint complaining :yahoo:

Thanks for looking and thanks to trackpig for the idea.

  12. After seeing this thread and seeing the american carbon fiber ducts I decided to have a bash myself. I used aluminium pipe and angle bar so it weighs practically nothing.

The gap is as small as possible.

    IMG_1307.jpg

Abit out of focus but you can still see the gap by the vents
