  1. Many thanks for all your advice. Having a closer look Ive found a tiny scratch on one wheel and a slight scuff on another so I will pitch them at £500 for starters and see what happens.....if they don't sell im not too worried as I will just use them for track. As soon as I get them removed I will take some pics and get them posted up in the for sale section. Thanks again everyone.
  2. Im asking because im unsure. Neilp, the tyres are bridgestone potenza up front and michelin pilot on the rear.
  3. Ive seen them but they had a bit of kerbing and corrosion and had no tyres. So if thats the going rate would I be right in thinking around £500 for mine?
  4. It has probably been asked on here a few hundred times before but Im trying to get an idea of what a set of the 350z 18" rays forged wheels go for with decent tyres. Ive had a look back through the "for sale" threads and they vary so much so I have no idea what to ask for mine. Thought it best to get some advice from members on here that would know better than I would before I pitch them for too much or too little. They have no kerbing, no scuffs and are in excellent condition and all tyres have at least 4.5mm+ tread on them. Hope someone can help and give some decent advice. Many thanks.
  5. Oh dear, sorry to hear about the damage. Nothing that cant be sorted thought buddy.
  6. Very very nice wheels, they look stunning. Also another shout for rimwax, its the best product I have ever used to keep polished rims protected from brake dust grinding its way into the finish.
  7. Are you asking about clearance because you have brembos? Its hard to say what spacer you would need to clear (if any) unless someone on here has fitted the same wheel to their car and could give you the info. It doesnt just come down to the offset though, even the curve of the spoke can have an affect on the fit. If you are getting them from a reputable wheel dealer then they should have the info on whether they will clear the calipers or not.
  8. +1 look like they have had rick waller driving them with michelle mcmanus in the passenger seat and a boot load of brick rubble. Rank. Fantastic So you won't be running camber like this then? Lmao! now that is extreme and very funny.
  9. I agree RisingPower, it gets too a point where you can go too far, so much negative camber and extreme stretch on tyres must make the car a nightmare to drive as well as a tad dangerous. It does look good though. Im just trying to find a point where its just right (for me anyway.lol) where I can have wide wheels and great looks without sacrificing driveability etc.. Fingers crossed the 19x10's all round will be just right. Ive just got to put some thought into what size tyres I should go for now.
  10. That is mental and very very nice. I found someone in america with a g35 who was running 12j's and -20 offset on stock body......how much negative camber must that be running! I dont think that stance could cope with the roads over here.lol
  11. Its not too bad as this is just a show car and will never get tracked etc, but I do like the best of both worlds where the car looks good but also performs in all the right places. Im gonna try the 10's all round and get the geometry setup and see what it is like, if it does handle like crap then I can always get a smaller width wheel up front and just use the wide front wheels for the shows/events. I will be going for Fk452's as I have always found them great on all my previous motors. I will be trying to push the stance to its limits though, so up front I think I will be ok but I am even toying with a 20mm spacer with an et20 on the rear.
  12. Many thanks for the heads up as Ive only heard excellent things about DMS but luckily Ive got an excellent place just down the road from me who does all my work.
  13. if you go for a square setup you'll need to get the Geo altered to set the car up best for handling. the Geo alterations will hopefully put back in some of the steering control and grip change you'll get from the new setup. I always get the geo redone when ever I change for wider wheels or fit new suspension and it will defo need doing after these changes as it will also be slammed as low as I can get it.........may need a bit of arch rolling/flaring.lol Looks like I will also be investing in some adjustable camber arms.
  14. This is swaying me towards putting 10's all round. It is all about the stance.lol
  15. Thats interesting to know that the oem setup is 8" wide all round. Maybe the handling won't be that much different but it will feel a bit heavier.
  16. Cheers bud. Doesnt look too bad, Im just worried about how it will handle though.
  17. Sarnie, thats another thing Im worried about, the looks side of things.
  18. Im getting some new wheels for my motor but unsure on what size to go for. I am still very undecided whether to go for a staggered setup or a square setup. If I was to go for staggered then it would be 19x10 rear and 19x8.5 front but I do fancy 19x10 all round with a 275/35/19 tyre at the back and a 255/35/19 tyre up front. Has anyone done a square setup on their car and if so how has it affected the handling? On the American forums alot of people swear by the square setup and say it handles better. Any advice and help will be very much appreciated as I dont want to pay out for wheels and then the car handles like a bag of you know what.
  19. Still not sure which one to go for myself. If anyone in the northwest is ever in the chorley area then please give me a shout as it would be great to hear a K1 in the flesh to see if it is too loud.
  20. My view is that wheels cracking after being powder coated is an urban myth. When a wheel is first made it is heated to a very high temperature, alot higher than any powder coating process. Alot of it has to do with the wheel itself, If it cracks towards the outer edge then that will be alot down to loading, if it is towards the centre then alot of that is to do with heat transfer from the discs and calipers. Alot of wheels that do crack or fracture tend to be those that have had a hard track life as that is when the wheels go under extreme loadings and heat transfer, that is why alot of track cars go for fully forged to get that extra strength, if you are just a track whore then just a well made strong wheel from a reputable wheel manufacturer should be ok. Wheels that have been designed for the road and not the track are more likely to break especially if they are pushed to the limits all the time, basically a full time track car. Powdercoating is not to blame but on the other hand, powdercoating can hide alot of previous abuse as it fills alot of cracks and shoddy repairs etc.. I have heard on several occassions that some people have had cracks on their wheels resulting from track use and to make some money back, did a shoddy repair job and then powdercoated them to hide it........resulting in major headache for new owner when the wheel falls to pieces.
  21. Here it is, not the best looking thing at the moment I know but I can work on that over time. Just wanted a nice low mileage, un-molested, clean base car to work from. The same way all my cars start out. First thing first is wheels and coilovers as they are the same fitment as the 350Z. Maybe 19x10 rear and 19x8.5 front but I am still toying with the idea of a square setup all round of 19x10 but I am unsure on how it will effect the handling. Anyone done it on their zed?
  22. I kept the original colours of the previous cars but seeing just about every panel had been changed they did have a blow over spray. Heres some pics of the other cars I have built to show for you to have a look at, they wont be to everyones taste seeing one of them was a subaru.lol The S15 has just gone to Germany but will be appearing in Jap performance in the December issue I think. The scoob appeared in Redline last year and was the development car for Japspeeds latest drift subaru: This was my track toy that putting out about 650hp by the time I had finished with it and everything was HKS: I promise to get some pics up of the GT this evening but it looks quite normal at the mo seeing I haven't got started on it yet. Busa1300 Im based in Chorley.
  23. Its currently silver but I am thinking a nice candy red would look good with a gloss black roof. Its handy because I have a custom spray shop so I can do all the work myself. Ive built quite a few show cars over the years and I have always wanted a 350z as a project but I needed 4 seats due to having 2 kids and they would argue too much about who would be jumping in with me when we drive to the shows.lol Thats how the 350gt come about, really I should say G35.
