  1. I was thinking of another dawn raid/breakfast run to Hartside. Would have to be a really early get-up though, or its not worth it. On the upside, you're home by lunch!

I would be keen for this as I've never been over to that area before. The footage and pics you posted from your last run up there make it look well worth the effort for the early get-up

Just let me know when the time is near and if I'm not at work I'll be there......the joys of contracting and no set shift pattern

  2. Getting closer to getting my 350z and I was wondering if there are any up and coming meeting in Cumbria or near?

    Cheers :drive1

    Hello Johnboy94,

Have you got a 350Z lined up or are you still hunting around for the 'right one'?

  3. I have only had it serviced once during my ownership as I haven't had it for long enough to be due for it's next service yet.

But yeah, I took it to Edgars, Rowrah (happy with their service provided) to keep the dealer stamp going as I didn't know how long I would be keeping it for.....

....Still loving it so will prob keep it a while yet.

There is much divided opinion on whether a dealers stamp is a must when selling on by the owner and/or future buyers. I think nowadays most people are happy if it has been looked after regularly by a reputable garage.

  4. Definitely the latter! It's just like a perfectly surfaced b-road. I think the lap takes about 2 minutes, but I'm not sure.

I'm getting the itch to do something similar now. Must be great to do the first track day in the dry and not have to worry about speed cameras

....even if you do have keep your wits about you for less courteous drivers!

  5. If u don't mind me asking, how much did the Hunter wheel alignment set u back? you could PM me if you can't say it loud. I am thinking of getting this done when the winter's over as my steering is not going in a straight line at the mo. Cheers

Probably struggle to keep the Z in a straight line this weather regardless of the steering

The cost was £67 inc VAT. I also had a 5% discount voucher that you can print out from the website

    http://www.alignmycar.co.uk/

This will show your nearest Hunter equipped garage.

If there a 2 or more near you, it's worth phoning up for prices - the 2 I tried differed by £20!!!

  6. Recently treated my Z to some gifts - UpRev at RS Tuning and Hunter geometry set-up. (Probably more £££'s than the wife will have spent on her this Christmas! )

These have totally transformed how the car now feels and drives. Definitely money well spent, would recommend.

On the suspension the toe was out on all corners, so now hopefully my new tyres won't be wearing down as quick.

As for the UpRev - haven't noticed a difference from standstill but once the car is rolling along it certainly pulls alot better when accelerating through the gears. The car has just basic mods so wasn't expecting a massive difference but certainly feels more responsive (graphs in dyno section)

Driven the car for 2 days like this but only trouble is it's now under 3 inches of snow :cold: plus with the dodgy roads it's too risky to be driving it in a sporting manner......Guess I'll just have to wait......

  7. Speedy, have you checked out DBA rotors? I recently got some of the slotted 4000 series fitted (fronts) as my OEM discs were shot, and along with the Ferodo pads mentioned above they're great - powerful with loadsa feel. The rotors are c£300 for a pair

This is the set up Mark @ Abbey recommends. It's what i'll be changing to shortley.

Indeed, that's where I got them fitted :) Crackin' performance so far, and the slotted discs look much cooler than the OEM brembos B)

 on the above. I also run the same setup along with braided hoses. The feel over oem is far better and stoppin power is great when spirited driving. The only downside imo is alot of brake dust - suppose this can be expected. Just use a decent wheel wax and it cleans off fairly easily.

The only time a get a little break squeal is when just town driving for a few days using very light braking. This soon disappears when back on the open roads :teeth:

  8. Alright there mate, Hope you get some good news soon wrt the job.

Should be a decent commute on them roads from what I seen last Sunday.

If it's a 4x4 you buy, try get something with selectable 4WD/RWD.......best of both worlds depending on your braveness! :drive1

  9. on the results andyvvc.

I will be speaking to RS and booking my '04 in with them once I buy & fit a couple of parts. I'm not worried about the numbers too much as all the reviews say that once it has been re-mapped it feels a so much more a responsive car to drive anyways......but more is always better!

  10. Hi Andyvvc. I shall be keeping an eye on this post. I'm thinking of similar exhaust, y-pipe & plenum upgrades. As Abbey is so far away (I'm NW Cumbria) RS is much nearer + they get good reviews also. Looking forward to hearing some good results and feedback. Hope all goes well
