  1. Hi everyone,

The last few weeks I have noticed a slight bit of slipping when changing into 5th and 6th gears in the Z.

Havnt noticed it in any other gear.

Does this mean my clutch is on its way out or is it gearbox related?

It only happens when you first release the clutch in those gears...

    Thanks!

What do we think? I have checked it all out and seems to be legit! I will be giving a deposit today and hopefully collecting next week after he re-mot's it for me :)

I used to have a focus a few years back and it was a very nice car to drive and since I am now doing a lot more miles than I used to when I 1st bought my Z with DJ'ing further afield and a having a girlfreind who lives 25 minutes away. All I seem to do lately is stand by a petrol pump!!! :/

Anyway, I will be making some slight improvements to this car like making all the small black details white, maybe adding a small spoiler and black alloys but not too much :)

  3. Hi!

    My Z is due for a service, the things that I think need to be seen to are;

    Oil change

    All filters changed

    Spark plugs changed

Suspension is squeaking so bushes and anti roll bar links I'm guessing?

And just an all round check over...

How much should I expect to pay for this? Should I take it to Nissan?

    Thanks

  4. Hi everyone

Bit of a strange one here. Has anyone else ever had a damp smell in their Z after a bit more rain than normal? I seem to have this problem now and am wondering whether or not there could be a leak? Is there a common leak point anywhere?

I have looked around and can't find any water or dampness in the car at all...

    Any help would be appreciated!

    Thanks

    Ryan

  5. Haha that was actually going to be my next question... I've heard that Alfas have a bit of a reputation for breaking down, is this true?

We have a Peugeot Bipper work van and it has been very solid and reliable so there's no issue with them for me.

And I know you're right about the shed idea, that it will be the cheapest option... I just really like the Mito... haha

  6. Hi everyone!

I am considering getting a second car for daily use as last week alone I put about £100 in petrol into the Z and it's only going to get worse!

I have been looking at the new Alfa Romeo Mito and the Peugeot 207.

The Mito is a stunning looking little car and the 207 has a great "Just add fuel" leasing offer on at the moment.

I am test driving both on Thursday, just wanted people's opinions really! Anyone on here have any experience with either of these? Anyone recommend any other little cars that might be good?

    Thanks!

  7. Hi everyone

A while ago I fitted the automatic wing mirror motorization kit supplied by a forum member and it has been working perfectly for months now.

The other day my right hand wing mirror started to not open properly on it's own, it would get about 10% of the way out then stop. I would then have to lock the car again then unlock it and help the mirror out with a bit of pressure from my hand...

I thought it was the mirror motor or something clogging up the mechanism but then yesterday the left one did the same thing?! That makes me think it's something voltage related??

    Any ideas peeps?

    Thanks

    Ryan

  8. Hi everyone!

Bringing this thread back for a second...

I have the exact same problem with my Zed but looked in the manual and it says either DOT 3 or 4 and never to mix the 2. It also says that DOT 3 is filled at the factory.

Should I take the advice of everyone in this thread and use 4? I don't want to cause any damage...

    Thanks

  9. Hi everyone

Following a recent post of mine I have been thinking. I asked everyone on here basically what they thought of Supercar Experience Days and the overall response seemed to be that they are good but flawed. The majority of you seemed to think that it was great to get the chance to drive a Ferrari / Lambo etc but that you were very restricted in what you were allowed to do therefore making it more of a test drive day.

This got me to thinking, what if I bought a Ferrari 360, and charged people less than the rest to drive it and as it is my Business, make my policy that you really do get to drive the car properly, no restrictions etc.

Obviously there will be a limit to how mad you are allowed to go and if you seem to be being unsafe etc you will be stopped but that will only be in dangerous situations.

I understand that there are many things to be looked into before doing this like Insurances and some sort of Instructor training for me to be allowed legally to do it but other than that I think it's do-able....

What do you guys think? Thought I would ask here first as there are a lot of wise heads here and I know I will get good honest advice...

    Looking forward to your replies!

  10. Thanks for all the replies peeps!

I know that I am not going to get to rag it about like I would mine but I don't expect to... It is someone elses Lambo etc!! All I want to do is sit in my dream car and drive it about for a bit!! Maybe put my foot down on a couple of straights..... B)

I think it's going to be Lambo, Ferrari, GTR :D
