Done the dog evening several times at Nottingham (canine variety) always found it a good night out, best to ring to see if you can get a deal for a group but I think the figure starts around 10-12 people.

Night Club wise nottingham have some good ones especially because you are out numbered in nottingham 3 to 1 by the ladies, University city does this, never had a bad night out but I was younger then. Have a good one.

Thanks for that, pity it has been taken off the 350z general site that I put the thread on this morning. Didnt understand why because I am a new member, I am now beginning to smell something a bit fishy? Why are all the others similar posts on the detailing site.

Am I detecting an anti-reaction to any other detail specialist that are not in the club, so to speak.

Most of the legality of a number plate is the requirement that the letters and numbers have to be of a certain size and spacing.Quite rightly as you say you are not allowed to misrepresent a letter or number so that it looks like something else.

It also has to be easy and clear to read, therefore if the lettering is the correct size obviously the size of the plate has to be big enough to accept the lettering on it,however as you have rightly said it does not go into the actual size of the number plate.

There is one requirement and the extract below clearly is a British Standard that has to apply to the design of the plate, there is no mention again about the size. I hope this helps, by the way did you have a witness to this conversation because if this gets naughty for you it would be of great help.

THE BRITISH STANDARD BS AU 145d

The British Standard sets out the physical characteristics on the number plate. This includes:

* Visibility

* Strength

* Reflectivity

The British Standard also requires that a number plate must be marked with the following information: -

* The British Standard Number (currently BS AU 145d)

* The name, trade mark, or other means of identification of the manufacturer or

component supplier. (The company who actually make the number plate.)

* The name and postcode of the supplying outlet. (The 'supplying outlet' is taken to

mean a company whose business consists wholly or partly of selling number

plates.)

* A non-reflective border and the Euro-symbol with the national identification

letters are optional additions.

* There shall be no other markings or material contained on the number plate.

Rubber washers worked, 2 small tap washers in each (1/2" wide) cost £1.09p from focus DIY but no damage like you can get from pennies,wear and tear etc. Saving £68.91, success.

Only had my Zed a couple of weeks but as far as I am concerned the fog lights are only the rear ones.I was not aware they had front fog lights or have i got it totally "******" up.

This a TSB for the same issue on the 370 - not sure, but maybe the spring upgrade is the same for both the 350 and 370 and given the pic on page 2 ?

I think you are right but Nissan want £70 for two.

have just successfully, for the princely sum of thruppence a side, cured my annoying two handed bootlid manoevre for the much easier one handed operation! cheers madmarky and all in about 5 minutes!

Well done I have got up to two pence on each side and its still not opening. I am going to try the rubber washer trick because the pennies have started to mark the boot, only problem is, it ups the price from 6pence to a couple of quid.

instead of using pennies, which could push through and damage the paintwork, why not use stiff rubber washers. usually about the same size of a penny an would stop the damaging effect of the metal penny.

Sounds like a good idea ... I've had this problem for quite a while now but am starting to get annoyed with it ...

Got the same problem, Just cannot believe we can send a man to the moon and here we are 40 years later sticking pennies in a boot to make it open? I used to put pennies in a door to go to the loo in a public toilet (cleaned that one up for you). Heath Robinson or what, the daft thing is that Nissan dealers are well aware of these issues and have left them abandoned. The ongoing saga about rusting wiper arms is another example, I spoke to my local Nissan parts man in Lincoln only to be told that if I paid the exorbitant fee of £190 plus vat I could not get my two wiper arm replacements before November 2010. Therefore I did what I was advised by one of the more experienced members and give them a good re-spray. If this is the future God help us all.

Hello Folks

Just joined a few minutes ago, I bought a 350z last week absolutely love the car,after being used to a few mercs the last one an SLK I agree with the comments,"no contest".

Took her out for a spin and yep a disappearing boxster did appear in my rear view mirror, what a coincidence. I am a 57yr old male teenager who still likes to live a little bit and I am looking forward to future messages.

On a serious side the only problem I have is a common one with other 350's, I see that I will need some new wiper arms basically aluminium rusting. I see from other messages that some have been advised to contact other members? Are these people members or companies that sell spares etc? I would appreciate best practice on this irritating area for my car is in great condition. Photos to follow.
