  1. Hi Patch, How many cubic ft is it?
  2. Yeah I have run a few XXX's in my BMW amazing subs used to set off car alarms with the ported one! This one is only an SR10 I borrowed from my brother, its a dual 4 so I had to use an accumatch to drop it down to 0.5ohms to get the full power out of the Bose amp Wow lucky you didn't get stung for import duty as well then lol.
  3. Did you use the bose loom or the non bose loom? Maybe they got mixed up and gave you the wrong one, does it have rcas on it?
  4. that looks nice, pretty much similar to what i have had built, minus the bolt on panel. if i saw that before i would have ordered it, how much does it come in with shipping?
  5. Have you got the Bose Sound System with your Z and if so did you have any problems with the sound as I can't get any with this model and the recommended cables from Halfords which is frustrating...... Jordster yep I have the bose system, no problems with sound at all, its alot better and louder then the bose headunit, especially after doing the "buster mod"
  6. the box in the diagram is a bit small you can go alot wider as the opening is around 18 inches at the front. @veilside any pics/link, trying to picture what you mean?
  7. If you're getting them to install it for you its only £30 but you'll need all the fitting kit, i done mine myself but took me the whole day lol
  8. of course, every single app works with the hack, that's the advantage we have over iphone users
  9. update: got a 10" Re audio sub in a custom made box fitted in the bose location firing upwards today. I managed to get 0.7cuft volume so its just enough for a ported 10, although havnt cut a port in yet so its a sealed enclosure for now. its wired up @ 0.5 ohm to get the max power out of the bose. The compartment was rattling somewhere so i think it needs deadening/sound proofing. It was annoying me with the rattling so I took the sub out and stuck it in the boot Much better sound and louder. Its really dropping some lows out nicely, I'm not sure how many watts the bose amp is but its doing the job! I'm assuming its getting some cabin gain back there. Im now thinking to abandon the bose compartment altogether even though i wanted to keep all my boot space and keep it stealth.
  10. really? who said that? This is the best unit for android phones You dont need to buy the official pioneer cable for £60 I got a cheap one off ebay for about £6 iirc lol Just use a usb spiitter off the back off the headunit to supply power to the hdmi and charge the phone. Rooting is really quick and easy once you've done it once, but the 1st time its quite a lot to get your head around (looks more complicated than it really is). have a look on xda forum in the note 2 section,
  11. If you've got a note 2 its an excellent choice. If you root your phone and get the arliberator app from the play store then you just control your phone from the screen. If you're around london you're welcome to demo mine anytime
  12. I guess it could, but the only free air sub i thought was worth using is an idmax10 unfortunately it hits the fuel tank with the magnet as its too deep. Which JL free air sub are you looking at? I have now removed the baffle and probably getting a box built to go in as there is a decent amount of space back there.
  13. Took the seat and metal baffle out today there's quite a bit of space back there but it's really awkwardly shaped, I reckon a sealed 12 or ported 10 should fit easily
  14. I tried it quickly and the metal baffle was all over the place as soon as any sub excursion happened
  15. I wanna open the Bose location tomorrow and see what can fit in there, Im wondering if i can put a 15" Subwoofer box firing upwards?
  16. the pre outs are no longer being used, but the bose system already handles the xover points and sub for you. Just wont be able to tune it yourself.
  17. If you have an android phone I second this, once hacked its an excellent unit. Halfords fit for £30 as well, including the parrot and GPS with the head unit dude, can you hack the appradio2? I have this in my 350 but how do you hack it and what can you do once its hacked? Or do you mean when you jailbreak the android/Iphone? you have to have a rooted android phone, and an app called arliberator. It allows you COMPLETE control of your phone from the headunit
  18. yep i'm guessing you visit talkaudio lol. I know i'm so gutted it didn't fit
  19. i think its a lot more limited in functionality tbh, there should be a few youtube vids if you want to check it out on there
  20. I just tried to fit an idmax10 in as its a very good free air subwoofer, but because of the angle of the baffle and the depth of the sub the magnet hits the bottom and stops it going all the way in. I'm looking for a decent free air sub that isnt too deep, but in the meantime im gonna try a cheapo one once i get my amp in to see how it rattles first.
  21. If you have an android phone I second this, once hacked its an excellent unit. Halfords fit for £30 as well, including the parrot and GPS with the head unit
  22. What hack is that? Sent from my GT-N8010 using Tapatalk HD arliberator aka app radio liberator
  23. I have the appradio 2 with the hacked app to mirror my phone exactly. I would suggest you go with that instead, if you're around london you're welcome to check mine out before purchasing
  24. So after reading this thread I didnt even bother trying the RCA's I chopped them straight off my loom and did the mod before fitting my headunit. I have slight hiss and turn on pop on low volume, but it is hitting a bit harder than the stock headunit. The top end is better, i can actually tell i'm running tweeters now. I think the sub AMP is a bit too powerful for the sub now though I might look for a free air 10 to swap in.
