  1. Does anyone know if it will work in europe, to say, record lap times at the nurburgring?
  2. Well the noise tester asked me where the red line is. That is 6600rpm. 3/4 or 75% of 6600= 4950. I took it to 4800rpm and he measured 77db. What more can I say?
  3. Errh.. the red line is around 6500rpm
  4. 4800rpm- 3/4 of full revs which is around 6500.
  5. Hi all, I took part on a trackday at Croft on Saturday. It was one of the new 88db days. I had the 350z (totally standard) noise tested before paying for the day, it came though at 77db which I was surprised at. A couple of my friends took their e36 m3 down (some kind of induction kit fitted) which came out at 84db. It turned out to be a very good day and makes a nice change from the usual trek we make to other locations. 88db is not that low if your car is standard in the intake/exhaust department.
  6. Rays now purchased. Thanks to M13 KYF for the lead but I ended up buying from elsewhere.
  7. Hi I am after a set of oem rays alloys. Wheels must be buckle free but curbing marks, light corrosion, paint defects not a problem as I will have the wheels refurbed. Cheers.

    KEI D1 wheels

Hi, Has anyone fitted these wheels to their 350: http://cgi.ebay.co.uk/ws/eBayISAPI.dll? ... K:MEWAX:IT What is the fitting like- as they are wider and have a slightly different offset to standard. Whats the quality of the wheels like? Are they just fashion accessories that will break the first time they run a curb on a trackday? Thanks for any info
  9. Arh.. That saves me a job then! Cheers
  10. Hi all Do the valve clearances need to be measured on the 350z or are the valve clearances hydraulicaly adjusted and therefore require no maintenance? The service manual i've downloaded seems to suggest the engine is not fitted with hydraulic adjusters. If thats the case, shouldnt the clearances be measured periodically? Thanks for any info
  11. I have only owned the Z for 4 days so I dont have any real idea on running costs yet. Fuel consumption wise, I think the Z seems to be similar to the M. I serviced the m3 myself which kept costs down. I have not decided what to do regarding servicing on the Z yet. I found the m3 a little frustrating to drive sometimes. It has alot of power and is geared for nearly 170mph. I found that I didnt have to use any gears apart from 3rd and 4th when on a sprited run. I took the M over to Germany and the nurburgring. Over there, the M makes sense. Autobahns where you can push it up to 160mph and the ring where it came alive. The Z seems to be geared shorter (not sure what the top speed is with the limter removed?) so you can get involved with the drive a little more. I handles great for a road car as it came from the factory. We are taking the Z on a european touring hol this year including a n'ring visit
  12. Yup this is correct even when your ESP is off the brake LSD system and the ABS (some people think these are one in the same - they are not) continue to function. Some people complain the ESP on the zed is too intrusive - I'd have to disagree- and I'll freely admit that until I learnt the track at Knockhill I kept it on Cheers So does the 350z have a LSD with friction plates in it?, or an open diff working along with the rear brakes to transfer drive away from a spinning wheel?
  13. Can I just confirm this?- When I turn the esp off, the brake distribution stays active. Is this corrrect? Cheers.
  14. Just to add- I have a section near where I live consisting of a tight corner then a long straight which you have to brake at the end of. Lets just say, the Z achieved 5mph more than the M. Pleasantly surprised
  15. Hi I have just purchased my z and have also came out of an e36 evo. The engines do their work in quite different ways- the beemer makes all the power at high revs where the z uses the torque to push you along at lower revs. The z doesn't feel as quick as the m3 but the speedo tells you are still moving rapidly. The z handles really well- as good as my m3 which had a few mods and tweaked geo to get it how it was. The z feels special where the m3 didnt imo. I recommend the change to the 350z
  16. Thats great cheers. The front spoiler seems pricey though Can anyone recommend where I may get a standard looking aftermarket item? Edit- I have just removed the original and made a good job of repairing it
  17. I have another question if I may. Is there any way to turn the sat nav off completly? At night, the light from the screen can be seen past the closed sat nav cover (even when night colour is selected). Also, Ive turned the voice guidance volume right down at its still very loud!
  18. Hi I am looking for the nissan part number for the lower lip on front bumper. Mine has took some damage from a curb. I am coming from BMW ownership and used to find this kind of thing a real help: http://www.realoem.com/bmw/showparts.do ... g=41&fg=10 Is there a nissan equivalent? Cheers.
  19. As it has not stopped raining- these pics were taken by the previous owner:
  20. I will upload some pics to photobucket and post them here tonight
  21. Hi all I have found the right 350z and made the purchase. Its an 04, Gunmetal with azelan leather. I just need to get to know the car and make sure there are no problems Thanks for the buying tips and answers to my question- the first of many!
  22. Hi all May I ask how many keys are supplied with a 350z? Is it 2 master, 1 valet and a plate with the key numbers printed on it? Thanks for any info.
  23. Hi all, May I ask a couple of questions regarding a possible 350z purchase: 1)was the tan leather a cost option above the GT pack? 2)what is the availability of second hand rays alloys? I have seen a couple of sets in the ad section on here, they seem to be around £600 but do they come along often? 3)The gearbox in the car I test drove was a little sticky going into 2nd when cold. This seemed to get better once warmed up. Is this normal or is it a potential problem? Thanks for any info.
