  1. It wouldn't bother me. The oil has been changed very year. Coolant change whilst in the service guide generally doesn't get done by Nissan unless you ask. Brake fluid I have rarely ever seen changed on service history so it is good that it has been done at least once. Spark plugs are 50k rated so they will need doing soon.

I would check the MOT history online for advisories to get a fuller idea of the car.

  2. If you think you've been snapped by a speed camera. Fixed or. Mobile. You can check to see if your going to get that dreaded brown envelope

    Go to:

    www.i-database.co.uk

Enter your reg number and check.

    I never knew that! Cheers

  3. Anything above about 6500k will be worse than the standard bulb, the more blue in the light the less light will be reflected. Although many think it looks better. B)

The K figures have nothing to do with light output, just the colour of the light. I suspect that as the stock bulb is 4500k and white light is 5000k that your not gonna get any better unless you can get 5000k bulbs.

Colour Temp (K) Colour Description: 3000k Yellow light (suitable for fog lights) 4300k White light with tinges of yellow. 5000K: PURE WHITE LIGHT. 6000K: White light with tinges of blue 8000K: Distinct blue color light 10000K: Bluish-green light 12000K: Bluish-purplish light.

Any improvement? I'm probably going to raise my headlamp level this weekend as the through compared to my Jeep is stupidly short.

Unfortunately you will never get a low to the ground sports car with shaped headlights to be anywhere near as good as a higher sitting car with headlights sitting at 90deg to the road. It's just not gonna happen with the angles involved.

Funny enough, the Zed is has the best headlights of any car I've owned.

I don't find the Zed lights that bad... You are never gonna get RR type distance and output as you are so low

I increased the throw of the headlamps yesterday evening and it has made a big improvement and doesn't appear to be dazzling anyone.

  4. Care to substantiate? What about the galvanic corrosion between the aluminium and steel shafts assuming the shaft and nut is steel. Not that I am an expert in such matters but I am sceptical of fitting parts that have not been design proven for daily driving.

  5. All these nany controls, self park etc should never be put in a car... THATS WHAT YOU PASSED YOUR TEST FOR...go out and practice or give up your liscence if you cant do it lol. Cruise control may stay...all the rest...BIN!

PS....Theres a highly expensive lookin' one of those in the industrial estate at my work...and they look terrible from the back as if the ar*e has just fallen off it.

I can't say I would ever notice how ugly the rear is as normally you would only see the front in you mirror.

  6. that will be expolited soon enough for nicking someones car. it will drive itself on to the trailer thats nicking it when they high jack the BT signal for it.

It wouldn't use Bluetooth. Not enough range to reach the parked car. Most likely use a 3G signal or LTE; the encryption of which is yet to be cracked for real time uses.

  7. Richard Hammond really is a wee Dick. Can't put my finger on why I don't like him, but I don't. I like Clarkson because he doesn't give a toss. The other one is ok too. But that wee Hammond winds me up, over acting I think it's called!

That's easy. He thinks he is funny but simply isn't. He behaves like a teenager when he is way past it. The program deserves better and right now they are letting the film crew down who create some superb footage. In fact I'd go so far to say that the set the bar that none are yet to reach.

  8. I just hate it...I came back to the car park at Tesco recently to find a Mum in a 4x4 with the door opened

fully against my car trying to get a reluctent kid into a baby seat, with ABSOLUTELY NO REGARD

to the damage to my car..when I pointed it out to her, and showed her the "damage" to my car, she started screaming

at me....PROVE IT and get the police...!!! I just left her in her Prozac haze and paid again for another

    dent to be removed..!!!

Hell hath no fury like a woman's scorn... especially one with a screaming child that refuses to get strapped into a car seat.

  9. Name me something else that is better than Top Gear on TV for those that don't find it amusing

    Glee?

    :bang:

I may  STEPS but even I wouldn't watch glee over Top Gear! Actually let me re phrase that. I'd never watch glee!

You've not been properly introduced to sarcasm have you?

    To what?

Sorry, my bad. I can never get sarcasm from reading. Only vocally.

I did post it rather dead pan just for the reaction though :)

  11. Looks good. If you made a template you would cut down the marking out time dramatically.

I have thought about making my own but I would prefer the LEDs to face forwards. These would appear to face sideways.

  12. Its against the highway code from memory, so technically it could get you points, especially if you're blocking pedestrians access

That all depends on whether it is law or not. Not all of the highway code is law. Much of it is recommendations or guidelines. For example, I don't think that it is law that you must indicate. I'll go check...

Parking on the pavement is indeed against the law except where signs permit it outside London:

You MUST NOT park partially or wholly on the pavement in London, and should not do so elsewhere unless signs permit it. Parking on the pavement can obstruct and seriously inconvenience pedestrians, people in wheelchairs or with visual impairments and people with prams or pushchairs.
