  1. nice, great its such a low mileage but kuro is the best colour
  2. Hey guys, I love my zed but after reading the forum, as expected, im very disappointed in my Bose unit. Funny thing is, it sounds 10 times better from radio, rather than CD. Radio sounds quite clean, bass isnt that bad and overall sound quality is acceptable, unlike CD where I'd rather listen to ipod with headphones on lol. Is that normal in your cars too? Aus
  3. I guess it's up to one's taste which in this case is totally not mine. When i first looked at it I had this overwhelming feeling that bits and pieces of bodykit were randomly picked up from some scrapyard at different times lol. IMHO whoever did this ruined the Zed

    got one :D

Soooo as promised a quick piccie of my new be(a)stie hope its gonna work Sorry for crappy iphone pic, i have no clue where proper camera is It's such an awesome car, i love it love it love it Used brembos properly for the first time today too, not any hairy situation, just a test I honestly don't know how will I ever be able to go back to normal brakes in any other car lol Stretch, it has black leather with orange stiching - i wasn't too fussed about the interior as I will most probably be going for a custom retrim as there is wayyy too much plastic for my liking.

    got one :D

Thanks guys I'll probably take a piccie sometime over the weekend. I'm so pleased with it.. Steering is meaty, gear stick chunky, clutch heavy, engine response quite immediate, 34mpg on the way back to london not going really slowly ... lovely change compared to the c30 even though it was a lovely car too. I will definitely enjoy driving it, hopefully in the wet too. It's not my first RWD car, nor is the most powerful, but will take it easy until i get fully used to it aus

    got one :D

Hiiii all, few hours ago i bought a really lovely Zed and now my face hurts as i was grinning all the way from birmingham to london lol. 54reg, kuro, GT spec, rays, 39k miles. It drives sooooooooooooo welll its amazing Looks like I'm gonna see you all in wales Picture or two will follow when i find a camera, not that you don't know how a kuro zed on rays looks like haha aus
  9. Thanks Chris yup, i've seen these guys as they had a kuro not that long ago but weren't too keen on my c30 saying they'd have to sell it back to volvo and basically they gave me much lower p/x value than any other dealer, so not sure they will be more keen on it now lol. I think I'll pass on the one in Fife as MVM reviews seem to be quite bad all over the Net Just got off the phone with a guy selling http://www.autotrader.co.uk/classified/advert/201012355493227/sort/priceasc/usedcars/colour/black/transmission/manual/seller-type/trade_adverts/model/350_z/make/nissan/postcode/n134nt/radius/1501/page/1?logcode=p (sorry i don't know how to make this shorter clickable 'link' thingy) and have to say over-the-phone experience left me much more impressed. The car is nice too, fresh MOT and had P1 2k miles ago, in october. There are so many nice ones and so hard to choose haha aus
  10. Yer thats what worries me a little now - done some reading on MVM and there are some good opinions as well as bad ones, especially from the guys from Impreza Drivers Club. Will try to do some more digging.
  11. I'll call the guy later today to see what kind of deal i can get and if i'll like it I think i will ask somewhere who's local if they could have a quick look at it. I'd hate to drive 430miles one way only to find out the car is a mine
  12. No, no, i especially called to ask about everything as the description in the website is rather modest. And the dealer confirmed its a UK GT Pack with FSH... He's gonna make some calls and price my C30 and I'll call him back later to see what kind of deal i can get. But boy, i like this one a lotttt
  13. Hey guys i think i might have found the one i really really want. here it is: http://www.pistonheads.com/sales/1615296.htm UK car, 38k miles, 2 owners, FSH with P2 being last, fresh MOT, taxed till end of july ask the very nice dealer if he's driven the car and apparently there's no clicking rear axle or skipping bose, plus the car hasn't been abused. All for £12k The thing is im in London so its a 430miles drive up to Fife - what do you think? Maybe someone even knows this car? aus

    Snow socks

I understand but don't think that should be the reason for compromised handling and safety. Zed is a performance car after all and i doubt low running costs was the reason anyone ever bought one. Personally I would rather spend £600-£800 on a set of tyres which will last 2-3 seasons than suddenly find myself in a ditch/lamp post/bus stop or back of another car just because I wanted to save some cash for a new spoiler or fancy ICE. Not to mention if a situation like that happened the result would most probably be the opposite due to insurance excess or premium rising.

    Snow socks

It's probably nice to have something like that in the garage or boot as an added security (of mind mostly) but you'll be best off with a set of good winter tyres which are as narrow as possible. Winter tyres will give you much better traction and knowing how long (or short) an actual winter in the UK lasts, you will be able to use them for at least 2 seasons. Unless there are some proper Alpine steep roads where you live or drive I personally wouldn't bother with these socks as winter shoes for any car will do the job. I find it quite surprising actually that most UK drivers always fit summer tyres, regardless of time of the year. I know we don't have really bad winters but in cold/icy mornings/little snow conditions even all-season tyres are better than summer ones. Summer, high performance tyres are made of a much softer compound than winter or all-season ones and start losing their characteristics below around 8 degrees C, as well as are more prone to damaging by pot holes, curbs and such. Thats probably why 2inches of snow is enough to put the country to a near stand still and have the national guard on standby aus
  16. I live in north london but getting anywhere isnt a problem - i would really appreciate heads up of the next meet in the area - looking at some cared for zeds without determined salesman breathing on my neck would be awesome, as meeting the owners and talking about the cars. In general i completely agree re not setting my heart on the colour, but in real world its kinda difficult as i would most probably be happier with say MY04 kuro with 45k miles rather than MY06 white with 30k miles if you get my drift. Bottom line is to find the best car for the money. I think it is a good idea for me to attend one of the meets first and look at the cars in flesh - so far i've only seen the black one and took a test drive in blade.
  17. Thanks again guys. As i feared from the very start this thread didnt help me one little bit, as every car in pictures here looks clean and clayed and waxed and polished and freaking amazing lol. Ill just draw sticks i think. Between kuro, GM, chilly. And all the others
  18. Thanks guys, i really do appreciate your input I probably should go to one of your meets but kinda wanted to have my zed by wales ..which still might be possible hopefully lol. I've actually found one chilly on nissan website, 42k miles i think, and within budget, but im soooo not sure haha. I should probably draw sticks and just learn to love the one i pick lol Again no offence to anyone (as i know colour choice is personal and can get..personal lol) but i've never been a fan of white cars and dont think i'd ever buy one. Plus ive been looking for two months and never seen one on sale either.
  19. Howya all goin, so i'd really like to start shopping for my zed but ive been reading and browsing and i cant decide on the colour lol i love kuro, but not sure if the car's lines wont disappear, also different bumpers/spoilers i quiteee like chilli pepper but fear it might be a little girly - i like dark red but not too bright.. GM/blade - soooo not sure, like GM is just a bit..grey lol and blade a bit too light? sunset is a no (no offence to anyone lol) and even though i think azure looks kinda best with bodykits on and with fancy engine bay i dont really love the colour i guess the easiest but most expensive option would be getting a whatever colour and repainting in this new one available only on 370 roadster, think they call it black rose, its this kind of cherry colour. and it that case how much am i looking at for full respray? All opinions hugely appreciated austin
  20. Very sorry to hear - Ive had my right wrist broken once, years ago, while rollerblading. Think i was 15 at the time so it resulted in even more inconvenience - im a righty Can't you sue someone like the drill maker? I'd think a powertool like that would have some sort of fail-safe mechanism to prevent these kind of things from happening. Pretty sure Yanks would make the company go bankrupt by now. Hope you'll have very quick recovery!
  21. A friend of mine had lpg conversion in his avensis and was very happy right up until his engine got royally screwed up. apparently according to few different mechanics the conversion which was top class was directly responsible. i generally don't understand lpg conversions especially in high-running-costs cars. if i couldnt afford petrol for my car id just go for something cheaper, like 1.4 (with small annual mileage) or a modern diesel (with driving a lot). that being sad i was quite troubled when i saw an 06reg s600 filling up lpg the other day lol LPG conversion will instantly result in loss of performance and has a very big chance of seriously damaging the engine over the time. The only benefit i can see is increased range
  22. These things said about BMW and Audi drivers i have two more, my own favourites. Micras and 206s. I dont know if they're a problem anywhere else but in London these drivers are a bloody nightmare. Don't indicate, dont exceed 25mph, notoriously take 2 parking spaces, don't use side mirrors (so many times i see them driving along with both mirrors folded lol) completely ignore lights-on switch regardless of time of the day/night, do crazy @*!# on motorways - 11pm, sunday evening, m40 towards london, doing around 80 on the middle lane as there's very little, but slower traffic on the lefthand lane, some quicker cars on the fast lane. suddenly micra driver who's had no one in front of him for 'miles' decides to change lanes without looking, right in front on me. if i didnt have upgraded brakes there would be one very crashed c30 and obliterated micra, as he was doing less than half my speed - im not kidding, when i managed to brake we were both doing about 35mph. I could give plenty more examples of smth like that, so I just stay clear when i see one. But then again Ive heard that its not as bad in the rest of the country as in london area. aus
  23. That's an amazing exhaust, I'm in love with the sound clip of the azure zed from their sound sample - i take it you have the same one. Just one thing im curious about. After the initial excitement what are your thoughts now? Hows the sound, ie do you get any drone at all? Im mostly worried about 70-90mph bracket, so long distance motorway trips. aus
  24. Awesome, thanks guys, especially Introspect. The reason I want to buy the DE model is because of the road tax and insurance. I checked premiums and 05 Zeds seem to be the last ones with a 'reasonable' premium of just under £3k. Now, don't gasp for my first year of ownership of Volvo c30 t5 i paid just over £5k. Im 23, live in london, 5 years NCB (but no one wanted to transfer it from aus so effectively i now have only 1 year NCB), never had a scratch regardless of fault. Sigh, oh well, what can I do hey. Cant wait to get the Zed already! Its a fun little thing to drive.
