When the guy from Chipsaway did some scuffs on my Rays he found the 'official' Nissan colour way to dark and ended up using a match from OEM scooby wheels (not sure if I was offended at that ) buy matching against his colour charts. He did say that a lot of manufacturers were not to bothered about the shade so long as it was close and all the wheels match. Don't know how true this is and doesn't give you a paint code but I can say the chipsaway patch he did was spot on. Most auto paint suppliers have access to colour cards so that might be your best option anyhow ie get an actual match against your wheels.

Don't forget it could be (was for me) the rear hatch not closing properly, hence the previous post's reference to the 3 plungers to include the rear one. I spent ages thinking it was the passenger door only cus of that symbol on the dash showing an open nearside door.

When you say power and antenna soldered on the board, do you mean some some sort of a jury rigged breadboard you put together? How is it powered on and off, via a switch on the pda itself or is an external switch and if so where is it located? thanks, Mike

I reckon that with the current fuel prices you could break even on a £2k lpg conversion in around 25k miles assuming you get around 300 miles on a £70 tank of fuel. This assumes no other costs factors such as additional depreciation at resale. Cannot take an LPG car on 'Le Shuttle' channel crossing and restrictions in other places eg underground car parks etc

I use Brasso successfully to remove scratches off my watch face so its not such a daft idea, however I did try this, plus glass polish on a windscreen of a previous car that had some deep scratches caused by a decrepit wiper blade. Unfortunately, it left a light haze behind worse than the original scratch so gave up in the end and used a professional service, cost around £90 and guy laughed at my amateur attempt but I forgave him as he did a perfect job.

I have used chipsaway a couple of times now and been impressed both times, it is a franchise though so you are reliant on getting a good technician. They have their limitations, in that it has to be an area they can blend into, a crease or shutline for example. They would not be able to match in a bonnet or roof scratch for example. When they are doing a localized body paint repair they normally do any stone chips you ask them to FOC as they have the paint mixed already and all they do is a dribble paint into the chip as we would (although making a better job than most of us). ie not 100% more like 80%. I am trying the Langka with reasonable success, the biggest problem being the paint hasn't set enough even leaving it the max 24hours as in the instructions, probably due to the cold weather and so some lifting up the paint out of the chip rather than leaving in flat. It has worked surprisingly well on old chips I patched up months ago where the Langka has flattened the blob and over spill left from the touch up paint, I am still a bit nervous of damaging the surrounding lacquer coat as you have to work on these for a lot longer although hasn't seemed to yet. I have been using a touch up set from Nissan (Azure B17) that the previous owner had purchased. I don't believe it will ever be 100% but it is many many times better than leaving as is. I'll try a couple of pics and see if it shows the repair clear enough to be worth posting. For the one chip I had that was deep enough to rust (I am guessing that the body is galvanized, anyhow only one has rusted on me) I used a Ku-rust touch up pen from a motor factor which stabilizes the rust and seemed to work ok for me.

Many thanks - Yes, I just stick a tom tom in the existing cubby I thought I would have have a play around and do some thing a bit slicker. I have seen a few good examples on the forum just havn't decided how much to spend yet. I intend to retain the Bose, I know it gets bad press but its good enough for my needs. More than happy to pay a fair price and certainly postage if thats all you want. I'll PM you my contact details.

Me too although its drivers side only - any one know the cost of a Nissan replacement? I was trying to decide whether its worth trying to strip down and respray it.
