  1. Hi Guys,

I need of a new clutch kit + lightened flywheel.

Pedal is sticking a bit too so might need a new master/slave cylinder, so prices for that if poss.

    Thanks.

Car is an 06 (296) DE

  2. Now i know there is a sticky about this and various threads, but i am getting a clicking noise from the rear of my z, i thought the cv joint issue only affected car up untill 05, mine is an 06 (296) model.

I have just had the car serviced by abbey and front control arm bushes replaced.

The rear has powergrid endlinks on aswell.

Does anybody have any idea what the clicking is? it isnt when i just move off it also happens while driving usually over bumps.

  3. you got a new bike? didnt it get stolen??? what tyres do you have on it?

I decided against going in on the bike friday when it was frost out, black ice is a pain... try and lean off the bike and keep the most part of the tire on the road and be carefull with power ;) glad to hear you're ok!

thanks :) i know... im always conscious of my body position, look in to the corner and head first not, hips there but head leaning away :)

Michelin pilot power 2ct... great tyres

im getting a power commander PCV so that will have 2 maps, one for speed and one for winter/rain conditions... hopefully that will help too... also im getting the autotune for the PCV so it tweaks your base map according to the condtions... great idea and product imo

power commander always good ;) I use BT003 and now lately rear BT016PRO, can't fault them, sticky as hell but you'll be replacing them often. I used to have pilots, good for longer commutes

Used to have avon storms = holy crap they're ruthless... great for loooooooooooooooong mileage but what good is that if you end up in a ditch... not sure why the heck you're not using full leathers dude.

Put the kevlar jeans on, was on the way to a friends, hes 5 mins away from me and kevlar jeans are fine for abrasion resistance its just impact protection you need to be concerned about ( thats why i had knee/shin guards ordered )

Also my bike did get stolen and yes i got another one  - now this one has a tracker and doesn't leave my eye sight unless chained up with almax, 2 disc locks and covered!!!

These pilot powers are different, more sport orientated... softer compound on the outter edges of tyres for extra lean angle... they dont last long though

  5. Glad you're not more badly hurt - I guess that's an insurance job on the bike?

Not atall, my excess is more than it costs to get all the parts on ebay!!

All i needed a couple of fairings and new crash bungs, all came up to 200 in the end

The pricey bit is the engine where it got scraped prob about 80 quid for that part but ive got engine casings on the way anyway so that will be covered up

the funny thing is i ordered knee/shin protectors to go under the jeans but they didnt arrive in time and sods law i came off

Ouch! Sorry to hear this mate but glad your ok! I have those jeans so good to see they held up without too much damage! Hope you sort the bike out without too much expense! Nice number plate too

Jeans did a terrific job, the padding that comes with them though is totally useless as it moves out of place soon as you come off, what you need are some stand alone strap on knee/shin armour under the jeans that wont move out of place

And yeah thanks it says "R6 BYE" :teeth:B)

  6. Lowsided in the ice today!

Lesson: wont be riding in cold 0 degree weather ever again

Lucky i have crash bungs on the bike... here are some pics of damage to the bike and then to myself + gear

    I was wearing the following:

Alpinestars GP plus jacket - Damage Pictured Below

Sidi Vortice Boots - Damage Pictured below

RST kevlar jeans - Damage Pictured below

Shark RSR2 helmet - didnt hit the ground - no damage

    Spidi Defender - No damage

RST tracktech gloves (winter version) - Damage Pictured

Not quite sure how i got grazed on my legs considering the jeans didnt actually tear up and held up pretty well.

  7. Cars been sitting a while not been using her much in the winter :(

want to get the Z all prepped up for the summer but im stuck with a couple of issues!

Front brake pads are very low / need replacing, im guessing because of this my handbrake light is coming on while braking hardish, ive already checked the fluid and that seems fine, so am i correct in saying its the pads?

Second issue is the TC (OFF) light keeps coming up and staying on if i brake hard

Third issue is when cornering the oil light will come on momentarily untill the wheel has been straightened up again (this doesnt happen on every corner - usually when the wheel requires turning quite quickly it happens)

    Any ideas?

Thanks guys, cant wait to get her back to 100% i do miss the Z!

just at a glance these seem to say they are in stock, if they are or not is another thing.

great help rt, as always  , i know you love the vredesteins too.

Ordered! hopefully will arrive soon although i doubt it!

  9. recently for various reasons i havnt been using the z as much as i should be i feel guilty, been a little neglected!

Shes well overdue a whole new set of tyres and was planning on getting a set of 4 vredesteins for her but cant seem to find anybody online who has them in stock...

id go for the michelin pilot sport 3 tyres aswell but not sure how good they are?

why are tyres so scarce at the moment?!

anybody know where i can go + get a decent price? ( really would prefer to get vredestiens ... i swear by those tyres!!! )

P.S tryed camskill and tyremen already.

  10. Weeeellll..... mine's JDM and it's got loads of documentation including export certificates in Japanese, import certificates in English, SVA, as well as clean report on all counts by the mycarcheck service etc..

However my V5 has NOT KNOWN in the engine number line. It's more like the person that first registered it didn't know where to find the id stamp (buried at the back of the block).

I don't believe people would 'steal' an engine and replace it with a different good engine just to hide identity. I personally would tell your mate not to worry.

good to know mate, but im sure he just wants peace of mind! doesn't want anything lurking in the back of his head! Also you can get your engine number put on your v5 buddy, just send a photo to the dvla with a picture of the engine number and write it in the box on your v5 and send it off, thats what they told my mate anyway.

  11. It's quite thorough but I completely understand why. I completely disagree with the whole CBT thing though and so do the instructors funnily enough, allowing kids out on to the road after one day of training with no theory behind them is madness!

I have a few bikes in mind, usual suspects R6 or CBR600RR. I might buy one now and pop it in the garage as prices are a little better this time of year.

    :yahoo:

Another biker in the midst! Be careful, most importantly gear up, with all the best you can get your hands on!

If your looking for an r6 j&s have a deal on at the moment for 6999, unbeatable but they have sold like hot cakes, ran out of white only blue and black left now. The branch that are selling them is the new malden one, speak to simon in sales :) - You wont get a better price for a new r6, its actually less than some near new used r6's!!!

  12. A friend of mine wants to buy an import and has done all the relevant checks on it etc but the engine number is not on the v5... the DVLA said thats not unusual for imports, but my friend of course is naturally weary the cars engine could be stolen, he has the engine number so wants to check if its been stolen, he tryed ringing the police and they said they cant disclose info like that, try and check with the AA for a data check, he has already done an AA data check and it comes back fine, but that only asks for the serial number and date of issue on the v5, the registration number and finally the vin, no sign of engine number anywhere, ive also had a look online and cant find any service that checks engine numbers?!

  13. Know its doesnt help, but i feel your pain mate. Been the victim of theiving scumbags a couple of times. The police were useless on both occasions. One time my car was broken into, completely ruined both doors using screwdrivers, wrecked the dash trying to remove the stereo which was bolted in. When they couldn't get it out they just smashed it. Police caught the **** who done it but as he had no money (drug addict) i couldnt get anything back. Also they wouldnt give me any off his details.

I truely hope they they catch the ****'s and you get your bike back.

thanks for all your support and messages guys, but im not sure id want the bike back if it was torn to bits... id be heartbroken... had a real attachment to that bike :(

  14. :scare:

the chain in the policy is surely only when you park it over night?

man I feel for you :( feckers...

    :bang:

i will check the small print buddy but they seem really reluctant, ive been really down over the last few days buddy, just never expected this to be me... :(

Really sorry to hear that mate that sucks big time!!!and your insurance company sound just like my old one.. AWFUL and dont care just do what ever they can to get out as normal...was that your ebay ad i saw with a litle vent about it being stolen???

Actually just looked it up its not you..look like someones targetting them!!

    http://www.ebay.co.uk/itm/YAMAHA-R6-STO ... 20bf89b64e

no i didnt post any ebay ads up about my bike, although ive been looking over gumtree and ebay in hope of noticing my bike for re sale.... they probably are sending it abroad, stripping it, joy riding it or selling it on as a cheap illegal track bike. :byebye:

  15. so my brand new few weeks old... barely broken in r6 worth £8000... was lifted last friday within 3 hours of me parking it... its alarm goes off in the middle of london, sombody calls the police to report it, in the mean time they smash off my numberplate and leave it in the motorcycle parking bay exactly where my motorbike was... so what i dont get is, if the police got an emergency call of a crime in progress with a registration of a van, WHY oh WHY didnt they check it out... the van had fake plates but still! they didnt even check!!!!

if they did check theyd notice my motorbikes numberplate on the floor on the only motorcycle bay in the street which is where the bike was reported as being stolen!!!

so i come back after a hard days work to see my brand new baby gone... 8000 out of pocket... thank you very much... police... absolutely USELESS.

If they found my reg they could of looked me up and called me but not a hint of effort!

and to make matters worse insurance isnt paying up because they say i didnt secure my bike with the chain i specified in my policy... i use my almax series 4 at home and my oxford monster out and about... paired with an alarm disc lock!!!

so i am pretty much devastated, im basically 100% not getting my bike back the police didnt even seem that interested in the whole thing! what scumbags!

just thought id vent my anger... really is disheartening that if you have anything nice... i.e a 350z or a nice new bike... it gets automatically targeted to be stolen/damaged... this world is truly messed up!!!:dry::(

now i am forced to get another bike on finance as all of my savings and money are at an all time low... which i could of dealt with if i had something to show for it!!!

    what a great Christmas present!
