rac said they cant do inspection as they do not deal with court cases...i said its not for court and i just need to tell mag..but they refused to touch it, said it looked very bad and were sure itl end up going legal getting a refund....

ill have to get independent inspection done...

max have said theyl come get the car back and if issues cant be fixed ill get another one

my garage saw it sat and said its really bad theyre writing a full report and have car back now .. so i may not see that car again!!!!!!

Might seem like a lot of issues but don't think of them all at once otherwise you'll just want to get rid. As long as the inspection comes back think of them and think which are the worst ones and then do them in the order you wanna do them etc. Think of each one seperately and all of a sudden it won't seem so bad and also you'll get through them a lot faster than you'd think. With the help of people on this board they'll soon get sorted. Everyone's really helpful and will always give advice whenever they can.

 

Personally I'd see how the inspection goes then see what the smell is under acceleration. Cosmetic issues aren't too bad, just your pride that will take a knock etc. But at the end of the day you'll still be driving round in a 350z, which lets face it is still an amazing car even with some cosmetic issues

Good advice i hope shes a keeper..but will take alot to align every panel back into place..gaps everywhere!

To be honest i am getting the inspection to assess the repair from the crash.. not alot aligns.... so on monday morning at least ill know if shes straight and safe... if so ill prob keep! if not i wont keep!!

the engine issues i am hoping will not be too serious... and i know the interior can be sorted, and in mean time ill tint windows so no one can see the mess in there!

i know i sound down in the dumps even though ive won the car, but you guys dont know the half of all the stress with this! was meant to get it last may! and then to find out its badly damaged, and took that long to sort and now get it with engine management light, bad smell when accelerate , no v5, no proper key, alarm that doesnt work, bodywork not flush/alligned well at all, cracked carbon bonnet (that i bought it myself) traction control broken, no 'free insurance' they said theyd try get me, and a dirty mess of an interior in which nothing works! the whole sound system doesnt work, doesnt seem fit to purchase at min, let alone as a prize- however if rac say repair is fine and shes straight least ill wana keep it

lowered FTO to £7995... really need to sell that however all that £ will clear my debts! so 350 will take me ages to sort... but no debt and a nice car is great, i am grateful. its all the stress thats upset me .... a year of waiting and its not quite as advertised

still.... ill see what rac say.... my friends who have seen it and how bodykit/doors/boot / bonnet doesnt align well are suspicious and telling me its no good so lets see what the professionals say and go from there!

very gutting too its got loads of audio and rear speakers worked..not the fronts and now alpine lovely dvd screen in front has packed in not cheap to replace either so no tunes!!! arrrgh!!!!!

did they quote you the £8900 knowing that its Cat C or D? or was the car never actually given that status after the accident?

no status, just had a bump and needed headlight and bumper ...illl get full lowdown when it all checked out monday, but least it wasnt written off ....helps me a bit!

id keep the carbon bootlid and bonnet and the wheels thats it, but even replacing bootlid and bonnet and getting painted could be too expensive for me to try this inspection was £299.00 monday ! totally broke! just insured it etc..

Know i def want a 350z , just one without all the grief, least i know i can prob get £8900 from webuyanycar ! not too bad!

20's on 350z isnt right though is it? so maybe sell the 20s separate and get my new zed some other wheels?

i dont have to keep the car now, i have told them i may not be keeping it. its not to my satisfaction of a show car therefore wont wana be showing it.... but i may still keep her.... could the number plate being where it is be the reason for the horrid smell when i accelerate?! over heating??

i am in trouble, its all ruined my car hobby end of my car shows etc .... im seen as the bad guy when i know im the victim!

Its a free car at the end of the day - better than a poke in the eye with a stick in my opinion! I do agree with you though, I'd want to get rid but that's just my personal taste. I actually prefer your FTO!

shockingly most friends and fam have said they prefer my FTO! but i do feel its time to let FTO go, its been an amazing 4 years owning it and i really want a 350z!! its odd saying that- i have zed at work downstairs!

FTO is all show and nothing else, cant leave her anywhere etc, now i feel its time for just one car - a nice 350z with carbon and nice mods, not a full out show car that i cant drive every day?!

webuyanycar say theyl pay £ 8900- whats the deal with that site? take it they inspect everything, do they def buy it straight away if they inspect and its all ok?? all depends what rac say .... ill wait and see! pretty annoying traction controls off and buttons broke im not used to rear wheel drive!

as stated put the work in i think it will be so rewarding, first things first. have a fire and throw the interior in it!

 

suppose you need new driver & passenger seats, you could try taking the covering off the door cards if you think they didnt bother glueing it? if they did of course new door cards is a must. i couldnt figure out what on earth they had done behind the seats but i'd just get stuck in and rip it all off leaving whatever is underneath showing, it cant be any worse than the way it is at the moment.

 

As for the crash damage etc, i'd just throw max power to the papers with a sob story tbh, you'd maybe make the money on the story to pay for the repair of the car?

i need to aviod any slagging off of companies, i am already being taken to court possibly for slander... over this car! hense im getting inspection . its all been a mess im happy i have the car now, and i knew it had been bumped and i still took the car... still better than nothing.... i think though id like to sell and start again as the costs to sort that interior will be high, i have no £ to put into the car, if i modify one ill be doing that ever so slowly! i had my fun with the FTO... now time to be sensible so i think be debt free but with a nice standard one will make me happy, coming off the 'modified car scene' after all this trouble put me off it all, ill enjoy my cars and do meets with you lot etc, not focus on spending thousands just to win show and shine comps at shows........

i have full rac inspection monday...(separate to lastnights about the engine light etc)

the inspection is £229.00 and theyl be able to tell me everything about the car / repair etc.....

end of the day i won it... and can sell it if i feel id like another standard one to do myself over time... think im doing the right thing, wanna keep her but with the interior issues and other worries i may be best to start again!

Right rac- there was strong coolant smells coming in whenever i accelerated.. however didnt happen when rac looked at it! typical! any ideas what this could be!? an engine management light was on when i took it the said it was the o2/ lamder sensor.... rac plugged his comp in and turned it off.... told me to take it to a garage to inspect... i believe the sensor issue was solved but they just hadnt turned engine management light out?!

erm.... interiors awful and nought works! and traction control/eps lights up... its off and cant be turned on...... as the button by steering wheels broken and fallen in hole!!

shes low miles 35000 20 inch wheels- like em carbon bonnet and bootlid...

do love the look of her... just got many hurdles now to solve, thinking of selling up and getting a standard one without all the bits not working!! dont have the £ to spend and fix. and needs full new interior... maybe someone will like it out there!? ill post pics when i get a chance at weekend!

ill ask for another bonnet to be delivered to the garage i use and trust!!! autobmc in hertfordshire. they are excellent, service and quality.

i get her sunday !!! i cant wait!!!!! even though i feel so down!

i am well upset! was half way through the photoshoot all smiley etc... then i go round to fully inspect my nice bonnet i bought her...and bang! i see the cracks!!!!!! ruined the day- they were then saying head up- smile etc... it was hard !!! the editor has said maybe they and the garage will go halves on new bonnet... thats fine, and i pray they do, but max shouldnt have to pay a penny, not their fault! i feel sorry for the editor bigtime!!! i feel like they think im so ungrateful, won the car and all ive done is moan ...but i do think anyone would have!

i have some awesome pics which ill post up after sunday she is lovely!!! apart from my wrecked bonnet..i know the garage will blame the bonnet somehow "it didnt fit" etc........... i dont think ill take that!!!

i know its a free car, but i worked hard to win..... then they made me wait nearly a year, and now this..... so although free car, its been a nightmare and as i did buy that bonnet myself i feel they really should get me a new one!?!

I had my Max Power feature yesterday with the 350z Project ive won... due to be handed over to me sunday at Santa Pod.

At xmas i bought a seibon 350z bonnet from Amber.. gave them this bonnet- they got a garage to fit it...

saw the car yesterday and my bonnets cracked .... all round the aero flush plus locking pins- and a huge crack all along front of bonnet ......... ruined.

I have said i feel they should replace this!!! am i right here?!

i gave them my bonnet in perfect condition, and myself and the garage checked it when we unwrapped it.

so who should replace it max power or xquisite ?! i think the garage ... Max didnt damage it, tehy just picked it up and hadnt noticed (apparently)

am so annoyed .....
