  1. i wasnt looking at wikipedia were you? http://www.imdb.com/name/nm0000241/bio trust me JCVD isnt a man to mess with...
  2. but im not sure how you can say he is not a real fighter, he won tournaments (the same as jet li did before he became an actor). He fought in the French olympic team aswell... So unless you are saying that fighting in tournaments is not real fighting..... ( i have seen a few martial arts tournaments up close and in those have seen a few people lose teeth, get a broken jaw and nose, and some severere bruising!) Sadly we will never know how any of them would stand up to a 6ft neo nazi with a machine gun and 6 inch nife.... who has just killed a member of thier family... Now dont get me wrong im not a fan of him in particular, but my point is that im fairly sure he would woop most peoples arses, assuming he had a good enough motive...
  3. He is one martial art artist in Hong Kong that's underrated. Bet he is miles better than Jackie Chan. I met Jackie Chan years ago on the movie set the medallion when they were filming in Ireland, me and my brother had a meal with him and the director, really nice guy but am afraid to say he is not a martial artist, he is trained in the art primarily for filming. He has a whole school set up for fighting on screen. Jet Li and the guy in Ong Bak on the other hand are bad ass mo fo's. But what I like about Ip Man was not the fight scenes but the way the whole story was put together, bloody brilliant i thought There is a guy I know who is a Black belt & has run a Kung Fu school for years. He reckoned Jackie Chan was a brillant exponent of the art, in fact the best he had seen. sorry mate but he theres knowing the art and then theres knowing the art. Van Damme had nice kicks and would of been great as a show kicker in tkd but as a martial artist he is far from. as someone who could defend himself, afraid not. Martial arts on screen and martial arts as a way of life are as different as chalk and cheese. Jet Li had to relearn his art for screen purposes, Ive done moves for a fight scene and it was bloody hard work, Jackie chan is a master at the art for screen, but get him to apply the art for everyday purpose and he is clueless Dude you do know JCVD fought in tournaments...18 wins to 1 technical loss.... I understand what you are saying im not a fan of jackie chan, but i still think he would woop most peoples asses....also dont forget he does all his own stunts....you should see his list of injuries he has recieved during his career
  4. its very odd this problem, because as i said mine seems to be a tad random, also my bor had it on his car and when he spoke to nissan about it (he got his car brand spanking new from them in 2004) they said that it was a common thing and nothing to worry about (which did seem very odd to him) but he had the car for 4 years did 30k miles in it, and never once had a problem with it.... I only found this out after telling him about it but im still not convinced as must be somthing amiss i recon...
  5. it hasnt done it recently, but keep me posted Neo
  6. I had heard the same that they were a tad iffy.... you find that they have loads of cars advertised, but when you get there they dont have them and the ones they do have are often cheap imports.....I also heard from a friend when i was looking that they were selling cars that had been crashed in japan fixed up and sold over here avoiding HPI checks etc.... But i dont know how true that is. What i do know was that they were selling when i was looking lots of cars that seemed to good to be true...£6-8k on autotrader etc...
  7. Thats the cost of changing a headlight bulb including the bulb so by the time they have taken out the loose one, refitted etc tou may get some change. jesus!!! wtf! bloody hell i hope they dont go often!!
  8. lol, well things are getting despo havent had a single second to ad anything of note!
  9. ok cool yeah let me know, mine seems intermitant, not sure if its linked to reversing... also can it be teh AC belt if you dont use the AC?
  10. Out of interest how long have you had the smell?
  11. will give them a call see what they say
  12. by replace it you saying do a full oil change, tbh i would rather just top up. they were a nissan dealership so dont think would be sh*te Neo
  13. So i just checked my belts and it seemed fine... still had strange smell not as potent but definatly noticable... So 5w-30 oil, will it matter if i put that in but the garage have put something different (ie should i call them again and ask what they put in)? Neo
  14. i cant see anything wrong with your belt tbh, but you think that is causing the smell??
  15. just spoke to my bro, and he always had the same problem on his, and it had only done about 20k miles, he said he was told it was a common thing with them.... So that makes me think i doubt its my clutch, as i cant see if its not slipping at all that it needs changing... (i have owned 2 cars that both needed new clutches) But i wonder how they thought your clutch was screwed if it wasnt slipping, or struggling to change gear etc.... Anyway i guess when i get my tires done at Nissan i will ask them to have a quick sneak peak...Unless there is someone in the Weybridge area who fancies a quick look? and a FOC beer?
  16. oh ok sh*t so i better go put some in...any recommendations? i will go get some tomorrow...
  17. So had a look at the car this morning no sign of bag stuck round wheel etc... I opened up the bonnet and there were quite a few leaves around the airvents at the top, so i removed all those. Anyway to cut a long story short after about 80 miles of driving, i go to reverse into my space, and the smell is there.... The car drove perfectly mixed driving for those 80 miles, so a couple fast pull aways and lots of gentle driving... I havent run the car with the bonnet open yet, i will do to see if i can smell anything. Also as i said the car was only serviced about 2k miles ago, so oil should have been changed etc...Clutch feels fine etc when driving... How easy is it to get a look at the break pads?? (i am a complete noob... so be honest!) I checked the engine oil in the cold this morning and it was just on the min mark, but on the 350z when should you check the oil, on my punto it was when cold... on my smart roadster it was when the engine was warm and had been running for a bit.....what about on the 350? Many thanks for you help, any ideas would be great...
  18. IvE had a look through those but it mostly seems like peeps who have been driving the car hard and either it's burnt tires from burnout or clutch for the same reason. However I haven't been doing those...... Very odd going to look this morning, make sure no plastic bag stuck or anything. Will try running it idle for a bit see if I smell it.
  19. Can you smell it when around any of the tires, i can smell it from the front right.... I hope its not the clutch as it doesnt slip, changes gear fine etc... sometimes i can be a little heavy acually moving the gearstick into second/ first but i have hear this is normal.
  20. well im not sure its a rubber smell, maybe just a general burning smell, doubt its clutch unless standard slow reversing can cause this smell...
  21. Hi All, So loving my car but after driving to the cinema and parking up, as it was cold i had the blowers on and noticed a smell of burning rubber. Didnt think anything of it and thought it was probably some one elses car. It was propbably a 20 min drive, not hard at all. No fast pull aways or anything. Anyway then parked up at home, had the blowers on and it came through again, (as i was reversing), after parking i got out, and it smelt strongest around the front drivers side wheel. As its dark i cant see anything, but again i didnt drive particularly hard... I know when i got the car, the garage who last serviced it about 2k miles before, had said it would need new front pads around now, could it be that? (when i got the car i asked the trader, when doing the safety check to check them(and told him i just wanted to be safe etc.. wasnt going to try and get more money off) and he said there mechanic said they were fine loads of wear left). So any ideas? i have used the search but nothing has come up with front right, and not driving the car hard... Anyway a tad worried as have a long drive tomorrow.... Let me know Thanks Neo
