  1. How do you mean slide and tilts? I got the RAC out a few weeks back in my daily and they picked up the front and dragged the rear. If that's what you meant then apologies.

  2. So I'm currently on the hard shoulder in the zed on the M3 awaiting pick up as the EML just came on. Tried the pedal dance to reset the ecu but it just keeps coming back on. My question is when the rac pick me up do I need to get them to put the rear wheels on rollers as its RWD to stop it knackering up anything?

  3. Happened to me as well, only after 700 miles on the tyres, so virtually new. They asked for £12 to fix it, paid £30 as it took them nearly 45 minute, wheel off, remove screw, remove tyre, fix the puncture properly, tyre back, re-balance, re-fit wheel. They're also a bunch of really nice guys, Croxley Tyres in Croxley :) They used plastic covers for their clamping machine so no marks on the rims.

I used to go there until there lad used a windy gun to put the bolts in on my old Astra coupe and cross threaded it. I use Northwood Hills service station now. Miles better in my opinion also bloody good MOT station B)

  4. I've just replaced the Cats and Y pipe on my '03 Zed - and the garage have has a bit of an ordeal getting it to fit correctly.

The end of the Y pipe (rearmost end) fails to meet the front end of the back section by about 10mm

I've got Cobra HFC's and Cobra resonated rear section, and Stillen Y pipe.

This should work right? Or would I be better getting a Cobra Y pipe too?

I saw a thread the other day saying that someone else was having problems with a stillen y pipe. Have a search for it, I'm on my phone so I'm not able to.

  5. But essentially - two shows will be better than one!

Exactly this. The Grand Tour will be for the fuddy-duddies who just want to watch the same regurgitated stuff they've been watching whilst sat in their pipe and slippers for the last ten years; and the new Top Gear will be for the cool kids who are bang on trend and want their shows to be fun, exciting and fresh!

Because Eddie Jordan and Chris Evans are young and fresh???

  6. Lovely work as ever! Do you have to replace the foam aswell? How much would it cost to do a pair of seats where the foam was knackered, door cards and a steering wheel? My dads thinking of getting his lancia retrimmed when he has finished with the headgasket

  7. I remember this from a few years back. It was running a standard k-series back then and wanted to enter time attack racing. Looks utterly ludicrous to me

I also remember this from back then. IIRC the "aero" bolted to it was literally home-made and just bolted to it because the owner had seen something used that looked similar rather than because it actually does anything or researched in any form at all; so any aero on that car that's functional is purely by luck rather than design, let alone being beneficial to the aero.

Yeah it was a Haynes manual on aerodynamics wasn't it lol

  8. I'm so glad i live 'up north'.

We bought our first house last year. It was a 'modest' £265k, but it's a large 5-bed with double garage in a nice but cheap area. We had some friends from London come and visit and they were really p***ed off, saying it would have cost about £1M where they live!

...just move up here and buy a nice house outright!

I just bought an ex council 2 bed flat near the nice part of Rickmansworth for £285k!!!!
