    My Sunset Zed

Gave my zed a nice clean today and took a few photo's as first ones i posted on here were a bit rubbish!
  2. lovely car, seen with my own eyes, love yellow gt4's
  3. yours too, i love the yellow gt4, i work your way one day a week so may see you again
  4. I wasn't me in the grey zed, but i think i drove past you today on dovercourt seafront about 4pm, I was in the sunset, gave a little wave!!
  5. So, went to drop my car off this morning, got to Glyn Hopkins, she took my keys, wanted to charge me £11.95 on top of agreed £260 for a valet, no thanks I said. The woman said it will be ready this afternoon, then just looked at me as if that was our business concluded. What about my courtesy car I asked, the woman looked at me blankly and told me one hadn't been booked and that they have none left. I explained this had been agreed in the price when I booked it, which it had, I wouldn't have driven from my home to colchester without sorting this out. She said there was nothing she could do apart from rebook me, but there would be an extra £17 insurance charge for a car, I was not best pleased as you can imagine, I said we had agreed a price, and now you are trying to get more cash out of me, I said I wont pay the extra £17, and thought they should even knock dome money of the £260 to compensate for wasted 30+ miles travelled and my inconvenience for the mistake, the woman apologised but explained the cost of P2 should be £360, so they have already knocked £100 off and wont do anything else, so I just walked out, felt like booting one of the showroom cars on way. I did enjoy my drive home though, my pent up anger was let out on several cars in the way of some fantastic overtaking maneuvers! I will not be going back to Glyn Hopkins ever again, and hope this may put some more of you off using them, i'm now going back to the phone to rebook else where, any suggestions???? Wza
  6. How can they justify asking £360 for a P2??? And then to knock £100 off just because you questioned it Mines due at the end of June but I'm not liking how they do their quoting at all + I've got a warranty issue to bring up with them about one the wheels. Have to go there really as I'm still under warranty... its ridiculous they don't offer the best price to start, imagine all the people that get ripped off by not questioning them, I called round a few places and haggled with them all, toomeys at basildon were cheapest i found at £238.
  7. I think i have seen you in your zed when i walking my dog a few weekends ago. Shame about clutch, i'm dreading mine going, it has done 43k miles and never been done, well, no receipts in log book so think still original.
  8. I have seen that zed a few times to, i think its an 04 plate? I will tell them not to wash my car!! I haven't seen your zed about thoug, what do you have?
  9. I have my car booked in for its P2 service at Glyn Hopkins in Colchester on Wednesday. Agreed price of £260, they originally quoted £360, then £300, so quite proud of my haggling. I will let you know how it goes.

    p2 service

I just told them i had done some research on 350z forum and saw people had paid lots less, and that I knew a private non main dealer that could do the service alot cheaper, but I wanted to keep FNSH. They went away and come back with better prices, plus I lied to one and made up a quote from another garage. I'm no haggler, i'm normally crap at getting the price I want, but its over the phone, they can only say no!

    p2 service

I have called around to book my car in for P2, toomeys in basildon, £238, Glyn Hopkin in colchester started at £360, dropped to £300, then to £260. Going to get it done in Colchester as will spend £20 getting to basildon and back. you need to haggle, i told toomeys i had been quoted £250 by glyn hopkin, so they come back with the price the did.
  12. Ha, thanks for all your comments. I think my mate it is wrong, and most comments posted back that up, that being the case, I'm going for a pink respray in the morning!
  13. What does he drive and what colour is it? He has a silver VW Golf, 5 door, not even a GTI
  14. I went to show my mate my zed today, he said he liked it, but reckoned the colour was girlie. I think he is so incredibly and so very very stupidly wrong, What do you think??? Its Sunset Orange by the way, Cheers wz
  15. looks the nuts, I have a sunset too but standard, hadn't considered making changes, but after seeing your pictures, may make a few!

    My Zed

A few photo's of my zed that I got last week, goodtimes, bit worried the exhaust is starting to blow already, badtimes http://s640.photobucket.com/albums/uu12 ... mview=grid hopefully link works Wza
  17. Really happy with my car, I keep looking for reasons to go out for a drive, haven't enjoyed driving this much ever, it kinda feels like when you first get your driving license. It is such a nice drive, surprised how nice it is just to cruise about in at low speeds too, but always tempted just to put my foot down to hear engine GROWL - GRRRRRRR!!! I will post some pictures as soon as weather gets a bit better as she needs a good clean, how do i go about doing it?
  18. So, having just bought my z yesterday, I have read a few articles on when the clutch will need replacing. From what I can gather, it depends on how hard the car has been driven and maybe a little luck, but when it needs doing, its pretty costly. Mt car has 42k miles, has not had clutch replaced, and seems fine to me, but what is the best way of checking it? I assume to leave handbrake on and try to pull away? Worried I am going to get a hefty bill straight away! Cheers Wza
  19. Hello, So i introduced myself a few days ago (thanks for welcome messages!), and as promised I have now become a 350z owner. I picked my car up at lunch time, it's an 03 UK 350z GT in sunset orange. I love it, and my 12 year old son cant wait to be dropped off at school tomorrow morning, "right at the gates" were his exact comments! He never said that when I dropped him off in my Fiesta! I'm really happy with it, makes such a lovely sound and has turned lots of heads already. My mum is scared I'm going to embed myself into a tree, so I explained Traction Control & ESP to her, it didn't fully alleviate her concerns, so I lied and said I would never drive it fast, I think she believed me! I kinda don't want to have a beer this evening so I can take it out for a spin later, but I have to wet my new babies head! Now, will my iphone work with the bluetooth??? Peace out everyone! Martin (wza)
  20. Hello all, I'm going to get myself a 350z, have about £10k to spend, and looking for a UK GT spec car. It is an exciting time as recent cars have been ford fiesta zetec s and renualt clio sport 172, so slight upgrade! I have spent time looking on Autotrader, Piston Heads etc, and haven't found many near the Essex area. I have just arranged a viewing of a car 60 miles or so away, but having not properly seen/driven a Z yet, wondered if there is any major things i should look out for? Plus not being able to compare with other 350z's is leaving me a little worried. I don't like buying the first thing i see, but have little viewing options and money burning hole in pocket! The car i'm going to see is an '03 plate, It has FNSH, the tyres apparently half way though life not new but not needing immediate replacement, Rays alloys, 42k miles (p2 service due at 45k). I spoke to owner who bought it from main dealer april 08, before him 1 other owner. He told me some minor stone chips on front end - I believe this is the norm with 350z but how minor should minor be? he also said a small amount of curbing on front alloys, and a small mark on rear wheel arch. The car is up for a £10,350k, he said he will give it a new mot and the P2 service for that price (he said would knock £200 off but no more), or let it go for £10k without the service or mot. Taking into account the stone chips, mark on arch, tyre condition and slight curbing, do you feel this is a good price or should I be doing some haggling? I have seen some slightly cheaper, they seem to have been snapped up quickly or were 100's miles away, I also know can get cheaper import, but i want a UK car. Let me know your views, or if you are selling one and it sounds like what i'm looking for, or know someone that is, let me know. Cheers Martin
