Get yourself this month's Evo magasine and turn to page 138
Ask and ye shall receive
Thanks for the heads up, good article on them. Only problem is that i cant find one for love or money! well not for price and spec i'm looking for.
It's been gutting losing the zed but from what i've heard i think either an LCR or CTR would go a long way to healling the pain. both seem to be cracking motors.
-
I used to own a Curpra R, cracking motor. The VAG 1.8 pretty well bullet proof if well looked after. Watch our for the smaller radiator fan failing (check it is spinning when engine idle) and the doors seals are **** poor (check for wet carpets). Also needs cambelt change every 60k miles and the OEM water pumps can be prone to failure. Basically take it for a good blast and check it doesn't overheat. Good luck with the hunt
thanks for the advice. will definitely be on the look out for those things.
cheers guys

Now sold
-
I had the sad sight of watching my zed get driven away yesterday after selling it Im certainly gonna miss it!
Just wanted to thank everyone on the forum with helping me with all the little issues ive had since selling it. You've been a great help
I unfortunately had to sell it for practical reasons, plus i needed the cash so i'm now in the look out for either an early model Leon Cupra R or maybe a Civic Type R. Dont suppose any one knows where i can pick one up for around 5k or if they have any advice on either cars??
Thanks again and fantastic forum!!

My Zed was a Cat C..now restored to it's former glory after a lot of work, time and money The VIC check can be done at the nearest authorised VOSA place on appointment basis. It only takes 5 mins..even quicker than a MOT. All they look for is the valid chasis number VIN. U will need to produce a valid insurance certificate and MOT though.
thanks for the heads up. Probably wouldn't have took the mot or insurance with
me so would have had a wasted trip
-
thanks for the replies guys. this is becoming quite a pain to be fair!
glad to hear that skyinsurance didnt need one as i was insured with u until about a week ago and it was never mentioned!
the problem is that this guy is telling me his insurance company needs an engineers report which i'm guessing he actually means a VIC report. He said they only cost £50 but i found one place that said it was £260 which i reckon is a far more detailed report.
there's a VOSA test station in Wrexham that i can take it to which will do a VIC report for £42. Reckon that'll be what he's after!
Selling your car can be such a pain in the ar$e!!
-
Had quite a few people interested so not desperate to sell it so would make sense just to change insurance companies. Not gonna cough up for it if that's what he's after.
-
I'm just in the process of selling my car which is registered as cat d. Someone who is coming to look at it has just rung saying that their insurance company wont cover them wihout a vehicle inspection report. I never got one when buying the car and had no problems insuring it, getting it through the MOT etc since ive owned it. I always thought that you never needed one for Cat d cars so has any one else come across this?
I've got no concerns that there's anything wrong with the car so would gladly put it through one if required. Does anyone know how you would get this done and how much it'd cost?
-
Just voted.
Some nice looking Zeds in there. All deserve to win in my eyes!
-
gotta love the theory behind that!
-
Is chrome wrap legal? you'd think having a mirror driving at you at night would be really dangerous?
Cant imagine they'd be much fun on a bright sunny day. They'd be blinding everything within 3 miles!
-
love the look of them lights. very nice
But not exactly cheap!
True! Unfortunately i have more important things to buy with my money!

£65k??! Bargain!
-
mines the same, always starts off around 1,500 once cold but then gradually falls down to about 8k.
seemed strange when i first got the car but then realised it was meant to do that.
-
door sealing, always end up with a puddle on the door sill after heavy rain.
poor interior that when slightly scratches leaves a white mark
-
didnt realise they were illegal. some websites say they're legal although that could just be rubbish just so u will buy them.
think i'll look into them more once i know what car i'm getting. dont want to bother fitting them if they're only gonna fail the mot.
-
I know that they'd be pointless for a Zed, having xenons and all but i was wondering if anyone has ever fitted these to another car and if they have what they think of them? Also how do they compare to xenons?
I'm gonna be after a new car shortly and have got used to having xenons now and dont want to go back. As an option though i was thinking i could always fit these as a substitute for xenons if needed.

How long before you publish your next plan
Ha, can just see the Volvo driving off now after avoiding the accident, "meep, meep"
-
Being a volvo u might want to take account for the fact that it's built like a tank as well!
Just hope that ur airbags work!!
-
Ouch!!
Cant imagine they'd be many spare parts available yet from sources other than Nissan so they'd have to get the parts direct which wont be cheap!!
-
11k
Was about to have a heart attack when I saw the price. Cat d though.
GLWTS
Does seem really cheap but then i knew i'd have to sell it for alot less than others are worth when i bought it.
Still hurts to do it though cos i know there's nothing wrong with it. Its so much car for that kinda money.
Gonna kill me to drive round in a little hatchback once it's gone. Everything i've looked at replacing it with just seems pathetic in comparison!!
-
11k........ For an Azure... Someone get this bought quick.
Its a deal, its a steal, its a sale of the f'n century!
Ha, thanks for the support. Hope potential buyers feel the same. Just worried that people might be put off with it being a cat d.
-
Absolutely gutted to be doing this but i've put my zed up for sale. I've put it on autotrader and pistonheads so have a look if your interested and send me a PM.
Bye Bye Zed - A big thank you

well i've finally got a new car, decided on a LCR. Not quite as powerful as the Zed but still fast and good fun regardless. The practicallity side of it is a massive bonus tho
down side is how easily a black car seems to get dirty. Reckon i'm gonna be cleaning it all the time!!
