  1. When I was looking at Zeds I was also looking at old shape XKR's but the V8 put me off... made the Zed look positively economical :scare:

I considered old shape XKR's too, it was the shape that put me off, still too pipe and slippers for me - the new one on the other hand, I could almost go for.....in a few years.

This one would do nicely http://www.evo.co.uk/news/evonews/25354 ... ition.html

    And I know Ekona, a 911 GT3 would be preferable obviously ;)

the old shape xkr are ok, solid engines, but not as fast as you would think, make a lot of noise but dont really pull the way you want. the new shape XK 4.2 engine is quality, fast and solid, then theres the updated 5.0 engine which is sweet, but then there is the R versions, which are very very fast.

if i was going for a jag and not for a lot of money, i would have an s-type R, very fast, handle brilliant, looks are ok i suppose, and the noise the supercharger makes is awesome, best out of all the superchargers.

  2. after staying in today and ringing work as i was unable to get out of my road, i was then unable to get back on the drive, Fortunatly the house next door is up for rent, with a mobile number in the window, i rang and asked if i could park on there drive, luckily he allowed me to do this, living on a hill sucks.

  3. Most people would probably know this already, but i didnt and im sure there are a few others on here that dont know it.

apparently its illegal to drive you vehicle with snow on the roof, the reasons are that if you brake it could slide onto your windscreen and block your view. and the other is while driving, its flicking off the roof into the path of other vehicles.

you could get pulled and get 3 points.

DO NOT WORRY, in the case of snow flicking onto your own vehicle there is a solution.......windscreen wipers.

  4. oh bugger, loads of snow last night. Unfortunatly I live in an are that was built on some old pits, so very hilly, i reversed off the drive, back end started to go down hill, luckily it stopped so i pulled back onto the drive, im not going into work today.

last year they gritted the area heavily, this year they havent even gritted once.

not the best car in the snow, but probably the most fun, just need to find some "private land"

  5. i agree with the boot mat, it slides loads. but as cmck13 said i have a Z because i wanted one, the strut brace in the boot does get in the way...only if i decided to put anythin in there, but for a sportscar i think its amazing, and looks brilliant

  6. Heh Varley,

Newbie owner here also with my first posting.

Have spent considerable time on here reading the informative posts & hopefully you will also, anyway, I digress, tip on here I found somewhere re the left speaker, sit in the pax seat, thump the knee pad to your right very hard with ya fist, worked for me a treat, behaved ever since.

Keep reading the forums for this & other highly technical solutions to you probs.

yer i did notice some threads on that, but as the car is under warrenty i dont want to punch my car lol, so will take it back

  7. well being a tech myself i have been gentle on the brakes, the squeaking appeard after a few miles.

ive searched for the left speaker problem, but only found cutting out, where as mine has a crackling noise, i suppose this could be the first stages of a loose connection.

the thing im annoyed at moset is the battery cover, as soons as i popped the bonnet, that stood out, with it on under the bonnet would look like a work of art.

  8. picked up my new 350z the other day, and love it.

the kindly serviced it and replaced front discs and pads, and rear pads.

as soon as i drove it away i noticed.

    1. clutch squeaks.

    2. brakes squeaks.

and on top of that i noticed.

    3. dash rattles, which i know its a used car and 6 years old so it doesnt bother me

    4. left speaker crackles intermitantly.

    5. rear washer jet not working.

    6. battery cover missing....which im annoyed at, as without that cover it ruins under the bonnet.

tomorrow ill have it on the ramp and checking everything before going back to nissan.

i have a years warrenty so expect them to be cover as i noticed them straight away.

i expect them to fit a battery cover as it should of been noticed on prep.

wouldnt mind it its a 500 quid car, but its £10k+

  9. are these spoilers bolted or bonded on?

and the standerd small lip boot spoiler, is that bolted on?

im thinking of getting the bigger rear spolier when i get my Z in a few days time hopefully, so just wanted to know what kind of a job it is to swap.

    thanks
